Pasadena Rose & Crown Hotel

We used the pool and the laundry. d The continental breakfast was nice. Very close to restaurants and activities. It was very clean.

Our stay was outstanding except for the lack of adequate parking. On Saturday 1 March there was no on site parking available requiring us to park off site. Staff was excellent and room was superb.

It was a weekend stay. The room was super clean. Very modern and up to date. Our room was by the staircase, noise was very minimal. Full body mirror in room. Receptionist was wonderful. Very helpful, answered all my questions. I was really impressed with this hotel. I definitely recommend it. The parking lot is a bit small but it’s fine. Laundry room and gym available also. The pool is being remodeled at the moment.

Good location, Nice rooms. Look like recently renovated and nicely done with modern trendy touches. Easy check in and checkout. Hot Breakfast was great for price of room. Only downside if had to list one was parking, as spots are tight.

I had a room on the ground floor next to parking and in-out foot traffic. It was not as bad as feared when I first saw the situation. Personal preference ; negatives the bed was soft , the a/c forceful and blew directly onto the bed. But for one night I could live with it. Good basic hot breakfast , clean small gym and other amenities adequate.

The two queen-bed room was roomy and quiet. The hotel is maintained clean. Free self-parking is a plus in Pasadena.

Good location in Pasadena. Available parking spots. Clean rooms. Disadvantages: small bathroom (renovated which compensates a bit). Most disadvantageous was dysfunctional elliptical and treadmill, in a very small exercise room which was poorly ventilated. Very subpar exercise facility.

The hotel was very clean and the location is great. We were walking distance to many restaurants.

I was a little disappointed when checking into my room at this hotel. There were such amazing reviews that I expected a little more. When we walked into the actual room, we were overwhelmed with the smell of bleach. I had to open the windows and turn the AC on full blast and it still did not take away the smell. When we let the staff know, they just said that they understand because it smells like that when they clean the lobby as well. I don’t understand, that’s definitely not a solution. We were also given the very first room by the entrance into the building and could hear everything even people coughing by the elevator, it was very loud and not pleasant. The staff was nice and that is probably the best thing about this trip, I’m not sure that I will stay here again.

The room needed dusting

One of the cleanest places around! and lovely bed and bedding, great sleeping. But the MOST impressive was how the staff assisted us greatly with a problem we had. Incredibly good service.

Our stay was ok. It would've been even better if the power didn't shut off, 3 times. I was hoping they'd have a generator to provide power while the main power was being repaired. The safe in the room didn't seem to work. The AC unit's buttons seemed to be peeled off so I couldn't see what was what. The TV had some audio issues as well. Every channel sounded like the Transformers were doing dialogue. Talk about more than meets the eye. We had seen how dusty it was too. I had hoped they did some upkeep before we checked in. The beds were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was nice and clean too. The staff members were pleasant and helpful.

The staff were nice but the rooms were dirty. We noticed a cockroach on our door when we stayed.

The staff was welcoming and very accommodating and the room had all the things toa make the stay pleasant. But the room needed some updating - the bathtub drained to slowly and its enamel was off in areas. Also while the grounds were maintained the area is rather drab.

Just a quick overnight, but found the room to be very clean, well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was good and plentiful and the food was fresh. The hotel/motel exterior is a bit dated but the inside seems newly remodeled. Only complaint is the bathroom barn doors leave no privacy.

The room and accomodations were great, nicely remodeled, comfortable and clean. Exterior of building wasn’t what I expected based on the photos displayed on this site, but it all worked out fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you.

I was only there over night. The room was clean, the bed was too soft, the tv didn’t have good channels so I watched tv on my iPad, there were a number of men talking very loudly past midnight which disturbed my sleep. The breakfast was typical, staff were friendly and helpful. Middle of the road hotel. Imho, too expensive for 1 night.

Area feels run down and hotel has no sound proof. Impossible to sleep. You can hear every step in the corridor and the room above. Mini-fridge is also very noisy

The staff was courteous and efficient. The room was fine, however, the tv was a little hard to use. The room was immediately next to a hall entrance and was extremely noisy. Every time someone went through the exterior door or closed a door in the hallway there was a loud band. Some of the guests were also very noisy. It was hard to get to sleep and the noise woke me up several times.

We had a lovely stay! Not too far from restaurants, coffee shops and stores — nice location.

Overall I liked the property, but there were a few issues that I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms were modern and nice. They were a good size, big enough to walk around, space for our luggage, etc. Most of the staff were nice enough. The first issue was the AC wasn't working and it was pretty warm day, so they moved us to another room. While we were moving our stuff, the housekeeper kept shaking her head at us in a disapproving way, probably because she had to clean the room again, even though we had only been in it for a half hour. When we got to the new room, the sink stopper wouldn't stay up, so the water was barely draining. We didn't want to say anything because of our first disapproving experience. I tried to pull it up from the top and from under the sink, but it was broken. I had to put something under the stopper to keep it up. (Pics) the faucet spout was too close to the back side of the sink bowl, so there wasn't much space for our hands when washing. It was harder for my husband who has larger hands. Slightly annoying, but doable. (Pics) It's more of a personal preference, but the fitted sheet was polyester and it makes me too warm, especially on this warm day/night. i prefer cotton. The top sheet was cotton, but it was pilling and it felt rough to me, so I found it difficult to get comfortable. (Pics) The floors were not carpeted and not well insulated, so we could hear the upstairs people walking and moving things around. It was so loud!

Room was roomy and clean. It appears it was updated, newer fixtures. At times street could be loud with motorcycle noise, but quieted down later at night. Staff friendly.

Curtain in disrepair, blackout curtain did not completely close (there was a gap).

Pro: able to check in earlier. Con: loud location: traffic noise check, the staff gossiping outside our door at all hours check.

I went to the lobby around 6am to get coffee and the door was locked. There was a sign that said ‘back in 15’ so I went back down 20 minutes later and it was still locked. Never got coffee. Not the worst offense but it was kind of annoying bc the lobby is supposed to be open 24 hrs.

The staff was great. I recommend this hotel and enjoyed my stay there.

Staff is always accommodating to your needs and does their best to meet your expectations. Stayed at this hotel twice for a week each time and both times has been a pleasant stay.

I don’t like this hotel the guy who checked me in later on in the evening isn’t nice at all he made me never want to come here again.

I had to be in Pasadena to have recent outpatient surgery. Everyone on the hotel staff was very polite, helpful, answered any questions, and pointed out the hotel amenities and services. I had the opportunity to meed the manager and told him all the above, and I was very satisfied with his commitment to customer service. I would highly recommend a stay at the Pasadena Rose And Crown Hotel to anyone. Great room, and great service!

The property was alright. Good enough for a few short nights but it wasn’t in the best part of town. Nice having breakfast onsite though and the staff were kind.

We often stay in the Pasadena Rose & Crown hotel when visiting this area. It has great location, good parking, friendly staff, and offers free breakfast. The rooms are nice and quiet.

Excellent location, good choice for those on a budget

My truck was broken into and a backpack with some items in it along with a pair of sunglasses. The car next to my truck had it's window busted out. Overall horrible experience.. Will never return to that area again.

Good location with many food choices. Clean and quiet. We chose the location to take the shuttle to the hollywood bowl.

Clean, remodeled, new looking for a classic "motor lodge". Beds comfortable, rooms good size, small refrig and coffee maker. Nice included bkfst. Free parking. Close to, but far enough away from central Old Town Pasadena one has to take a shared ride or drive, Not much around this site, except a great "dive bar" T Boyles Tavern.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have the pool and breakfast in the morning.

Check in was quick and easy. Parking was easy as well. Very friendly staff. Our room was very clean. Beds were comfy and cosy. The breakfast was perfect. The kids loved the waffle machine. There were bagels. Toast. Oatmeal. Delicious coffee. Fresh fruit. Fresh eggs and sausage. Friendly staff making sure everything was fresh full and clean. The only thing I didn’t love was it was a little noisy. We could hear the other guests hanging out outside our rooms and we were tired. But they left after a while and I don’t fault the hotel for that. But a little sound proofing might be nice there. :) Overall I would stay here again. Very nice hotel.

Great value. Bathrooms don't feel very private, no lock on bathroom door. Average breakfast fare. Not much dining space considering the number of guests try to get breakfast. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent small hotel close to the center of Pasadena. Very comfortable bed, and modern plumbing that works well. Limited free breakfast (no real oatmeal), but the food is consistently good.

Location is within walking distance to various eating spots. They provide a breakfast that features waffles, sausages, eggs, toast, yogurt, juice, and coffee.
