The facility was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. It was advertised as a breakfast being served every morning. It ended up consisting of a muffin, granola bar, apple and a small.bottle of apple juice. It was rather disappointing. We were looking forward to using the spa, however it was out of service. On another note, it was in close walking distance to the beach.

The breakfast bag to go was more for a kid. Coffee empty. The pictures show pool and fire pit but these are at two separate locations. Fire pit was across the street and down a little. Sidewalks and area around patio not kept up. Loose bricks on walkway. Bed was comfortable and fireplace was a nice feature.

Such a nice place to stay. Quaint, cosy, nice area to walk the ocean shore. Lovely little downtown with great shops and restaurants. Hot tub and pool for relaxing. Very nice staff. I'm so glad we stayed here, I loved it!

BUG IN BED . I would not recommend this hotel & the pictures look different from the property. At checkin we got put in a room with some clothes still left in the closet. The front lady moved us to a new room & after a few hours laying on the bed a MILIPEDE crawled on my boyfriend. We immediately left and were relieved bc the furniture in the room was worn down anyway. Still working with expedia to get a refund seems like the hotel isn’t trying to take responsibility since it’s been 2 days and they can’t be reached yet.

Pictures are nothing like actual property. Ant infestation. Checking into the first room, I immediately saw ants on the wall. Changed rooms, accepted a smaller room, although rather dingy, no immediate detection of ants. Ants all over the bathroom floor in the morning. Staff didn't seem to care, never apologized for the condition of the room or the inconvenience.

Room reeked pet urine. There was dog crap on the patio, so we did not open our door to sit out. Breakfast is a bagged apple juice, tinytangerine and very tiny muffin. Worst accommodation i ever had. I couldn't wait to check out.

Being one block from the ocean was about all this has going for it. The bathroom was very dark, maybe to hide the dirt. The grout on the edge of the tub was mostly missing and the rest was brown and deteriorated. The tub floor was stained with foot dirt and if you looked around the tub jets there was a lot of mold and dirt in the cavity. I could go on with other issues just in the bathroom. There were only 3 pillows on the king size bed (should be 4), and when I called the front desk to ask for another pillow I was asked “did you look in the closet?” I asked if they could bring another king sized pillow and they brought 3 small pillows and yes there was a small pillow in the closet. This place needs some major upgrading.

I've always enjoyed staying at this property but will admit the wear & tear is really starting to show yet prices are up. We were thrilled to see warm breakfast is now being served and rooms still very cosy, great beds & fireplace. Icing on the cake would love a comfy reading chair be added to the room.

Had a King Bed w/Fireplace. Stayed 5 nights. Fireplace would go out each night. Had to have the pilot lit next day. Balcony was encroached upon by a large tree so no very inviting. Bathroom was SO small you have to essentially work your way around the door to enter it. The bathroon sink stopped up on second night, they unclogged the next day. Decided to extend our stay to 5 days from 4. Had to go to the front desk to get new keys. Was not informed of this upon extending (did it on line) after I spoke with the front desk. Overall the facilities are old. Lastly, they indicate they have WiFi, yes they do but the speed is 2MB down and 1MB up. Really? Also, the TV is not very user friendly. The mgmt indicates that Pacific Grove does not allow any celltowers. Comcast was the provider and the TV guide only let you scroll thru 69 channels to the one you wanted, you cannot pick a channel via a number key. I would probably choose another hotel on our next stay.

It was an OK stay. The property could use some renovating. The sliding door to the bathroom didn’t close all the way and the bathroom was small. Quite a bit of light comes in through the windows (no black out curtains) and the walls are pretty thin; yes, you could hear guests’ conversations from other rooms and the front door leading out of the room to the parking area.

The rooms do not have air conditioning. The mattress was old and lumpy. If you have a choice to stay here don’t do it. The pictures on this site are not same as the place I stayed at they are very outdated. I paid 377 for a horrible night.

Good and Bad. Lets start with the positives. Our room was quite roomy and had a decent view that I didn't expect. The fireplace was lovely. And the room was clean! Staff was very friendly. The bad. Esthetics need improvement. (See pictures) There was a hole in our bathroom wall. Scuff marks on most walls. The bed was just so-so on the comfort. The tv had no streaming options so we were stuck on cable for movie watching. The continental breakfast was a baggie fit for a child's school break. And the shower pressure? Non-existent. I didnt even dare wash my hair. All in all it was decent but I dont know if I'd return.

The hotel is nice. We stayed only for a night. We arrived around 6pm. The check-in was smooth. The reason for 3 stars is the lack of customer service after. I tried calling the front desk several times. Once I was put on hold, but 15 minutes later nobody answered so I hung up. The next day I also tried calling the front desk but nobody answered. Unacceptable. Also, the rooms must have no insulation because we could hear all the noise outside and upstairs. Doors closing and people talking outside at 7am. Overall a good/average hotel with lots of potential.

Terrible service at check in. Very long line, person at counter very slow. Everyone in front of us got a room even though they were early. We had to wait 45 minutes after checking in to get keys. Highly recommend 2 people during check in time.

My stay at Lighthouse Lodge and Cottages was idillic! CJ at the front desk was very kind and helpful and kicked off the stay with fantastic hospitality! The room was spacious and beautiful, with the fireplace and onsite heated pool and hot tub serving as the cherry on top! I’d love to return and would highly recommend the place.

This was a favorite hotel we had stayed at multiple times. So much has gone downhill but the rudeness of staff was the worst. Waiting over an hour in line to check in because rooms were not ready. Staff cursing and telling guests to move patio furniture. Not allowing gusts to use fire pit area. No towels. Breakfast hostess was rude and was counting down time over and over as guests tried to finish breakfast, ( they only offered breakfast from 8:00am - 9:45. We were told at 9:15 we needed to hurry because they are kicking everyone out at 9:45, then denied another family entry into the lobby because they were late for breakfast. (9:40) It will be the last time we stay at this property. It was our Anniversary and we were very disappointed many guests were complaining overall it was a bad experience.

The property can use a facelift. Which I think they are working on. My husband thought the breakfasts were good. The front desk staff is extremely rude! Also, you can only have your room cleaned once every four days and you must request the cleaning 24 hours in advance. It’s completely ridiculous.

Everything was ok overall. Clean room, well kept appliances. During checking we were told that breakfast was included. My niece has celiac disease, she can not have any gluten. The lady in the front desk told us, they had some items gluten free and they were aware of cross contamination. In the morning, we went to the breakfast area. We were received by a rude lady. We asked her for the gluten free options. She said “I can’t help you with any of that” “there’s a line behind you” I can’t waste time on this” “I’m just being real, telling you the way it is” I don’t think I have ever being disrespected this way. We are used to find gluten free places to go, I’m not upset she didn’t have GF options. It was the way she treated us with no reason or provocation. I mention this at the time of check out. The lady at the front desk was polite and very apologetic. She also mentioned they DID have gluten free foods to offer. They told us they couldn’t make any refund for the breakfast we paid and we couldn’t get. I think it is a solid place to stay. I don’t think anybody with specific medical needs would be safe there. There’s no flexibility. I don’t think we would be coming back.

It is next to a cemetery. I woke up and wanted to see my view and the view was a cemetery. Good thing I arrived late at night and did not realize this until I woke up to check out the next morning. Realizing this was terrible!

At first it was not quiet the neighboring room kept slapping their door, but overall everything was perfect for a first timer visiting Monterrey the staff was friendly, I liked the fact that because we stayed at the cottages that we received a good hot breakfast and not the so call continental bag of just a muffin and apple. The unit had a jacuzzi tub my husband was loving it. We didn't get the chance to see the lighthouse but everything else was great.

We stayed in a queen room (not cottages, just standard). We enjoyed the area this hotel was in. It was very quaint and not in a busy zone. However, the room was a lot smaller than it was portrayed on the website, and there was no breakfast served except for a “go bag” breakfast (that we had to initial that we were ok with upon check-in). The pillows were very tiny, would have preferred something at least standard size. Be warned, no air conditioning or fan in the room. Highly advise against staying here during the summer months. We were lucky it was cool at night. No screen on bathroom or front window. Reverse plumbing, but they tell you upon check in. For what the rooms are going for at peak, probably not worth it. During off-season (cheaper months), maybe.

Everything was really nice and lovely, very calm and a good place to stay. The only thing we didn‘t like was the breakfast, as it was only coffee and a bag filled with an apple, a muffin, some juice and a cereal bar… for the price of the hotel we expected a little bit more selection.

We absolutely love staying here with our children. When we wake up we get to walk out to the front and see deer grazing in the grass. It is beautiful. The. staff is amazing and sweet. The breakfast is truly out of this world. We can't wait to come back again.
