You get what you pay for. At first, $80 a night in Oakland seemed like a great deal, but it quickly became clear why the rate was so low. The property is poorly maintained, with holes and large dings in the walls and sink. The overall approach to maintenance felt very “slumlord”—as though the owners were investing as little as possible while continuing to rent the rooms. The pool has been empty for quite some time apparently even though they still market that they have a pool. The train tracks are directly in front of the hotel, and the walls are extremely thin. Even with white noise, I was awakened at 5:30 a.m. by neighbors blasting music. The front-desk staff handled that situation immediately and were consistently friendly and helpful, but I could still hear the neighbors talking in their room afterward. Paper thin walls. The next morning, water began spraying directly out of the bathroom wall, soaking the toilet and towels and creating a puddle on the floor. No replacement room was available, so I checked out. The hotel refunded my second night, although not the first. Another guest reported that his air conditioner did not work and that the hotel had run out of fans, suggesting these maintenance problems are not isolated. If $80 is all you can spend and you are prepared for significant noise and maintenance issues, this may work. Otherwise, I strongly recommend paying more for somewhere clean, quiet, and properly maintained.

Absolutely do not stay here. I booked a non smoking room for two after seeing nice pictures and reviews online. It turns out, those pictures and reviews, as well as the listing description are not to be trusted. The entire building was not maintained well, the condition of the room and the bathroom were awful, the non smoking room smelled like smoke and had some other very awful smells that made us feel like throwing up within a couple minutes. We walked back down to the front desk and told them we would not be staying the night and requested a refund. We were given a business card and told to contact Mr Singh after speaking with the night front desk receptionist in order to get a refund for the hotel room we were in for about 3 minutes. After emailing and calling several times with no answer, we decided to leave a detailed review to warn anyone thinking of booking a room at this place.

When checking in the staff was ok. 1st room we checked into was awful. Sheets were dirty and had red stains. 2nd room was dirty as well. Hair and small trash on floors, sheets were not clean as well. Being late as it was, we just took of the sheets and went to bed.

I don't know all the answers to this poll, being that myself and family didn't get to experience the stay. We asked to view the room beforehand due to the environment of property and some staff. Specific room that was to be ours. Reeked strong odor gluteus maximus, smoke filled room, with cannabis. Which would've had me very concerned with the deposit fee that is STRONGLY enforced by which I don't indulge it had quite speculative had we stay to the point of check-out, would I have received my deposit back. Had us given void vibes not able to breathe just being able to inspect the room beforehand.
