Check-in was frustrating because only one of the two clerks at the front desk was able to assist guests. A large group of people was waiting, and it wasn't clear why the other clerk was sitting at a workstation without helping anyone. Eventually, the clerk who was assisting guests explained that her colleague was "in training" and therefore unable to handle check-ins. That's understandable, but it would have been helpful to have him sit elsewhere or display a sign so guests wouldn't waste time waiting at that station. Once it was my turn, the staff member was exceptionally friendly and got me checked in quickly. When she learned that my 82-year-old mother has difficulty walking, she graciously moved us to a first-floor room near an exterior door. That accommodation made a big difference and was greatly appreciated throughout our stay. Overall, the property is in acceptable condition, and the three-star rating seems appropriate. The hotel is a little worn in places, but our room was sufficiently clean and the beds were comfortable. There was some black mildew on the shower ceiling, although it was not a major concern for me. The in-room coffee maker was a nice touch, with clear instructions and a good selection of coffee. There was also ample parking available, which made the $10-per-night parking fee difficult to understand. The fitness center and pool appeared well maintained, although I did not use either during my stay. Overall, this hotel met our needs.

Would not give this hotel 3 stars, 2 at best. Carpet was so dirty wouldn’t consider stepping barefoot on it. Fragrance was strong when walked in, like cheap to cover up odors.
