The service at this property is wonderful. The front desk staff is extremely helpful and warm. The porter that drove me from the airport to the hotel was very kind as well. The bed is very comfortable, and the room is in great shape. The only issue is that they have three elevators, and one was not working last time I was there a few weeks ago, and is still not in order, unfortunately. Otherwise, an amazing experience. I will be back!

Absolutely wonderful clean environment. Wonderful staff excellent food amazing hardwood floors in room absolutely just wonderful, pet friendly hotel. Great indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi with an outside friendly backyard. Pet friendly walkabout. Wonderful experience.

I loved this hotel. I have stayed at a number of properties in this area and was surprised by how much I loved this hotel. The decor is clean and fresh, I loved the wellness messaging throughout the property. The gym was well equipped and the pre booked parking was reasonable. It was also with walking distance of a few great restaurants.

We thoroughly enjoyed the indoor/heated pool and jacuzzi. There was also an outdoor patio area which was nice, but the firepit was not connected or usable. On our first night (Thursday, December 26th), we ventured to the bar at 9:30pm, and the bar tender quickly and rudely told us that the bar would be closing at 10. The next day, the older gentleman tending the bar was much friendlier and offered excellent service. The staff didn't inform us where anything was including the pool, and didn't offer up any useful information about the hotel or surrounding areas either. The parking fee is a bit steep, and we were charged a $20 per night fee that we weren't aware of at the time of booking. The rooms were clean and had a Keurig coffee machine.

The parking gate didn’t always work with the room key on exit & then the call button for assistance did not work at all. Two of the three elevators didn’t work during my entire stay. When I got into my room and unpacked the AC did not work at all, and after 30 minutes after the service man came and tried to repair it, they had to move me to another room. The room key didn’t work a few times and I had to go back down to re-key.

The hotel itself had been remodeled. It was beautiful. The ambiance was one of peacefulness and serenity. Staff was accommodating. Check in was easy. Only complaint I had was that when I walked in, my entire room smelled like a gym, man's sweat. It was not fresh. I put up the a/c thought maybe it was in the air. After returning to explore the hotel, I arrived at the same state. I realized after showering and going to bed, it was the sheets, blankets and pillows that emitted the awful odor. I called the front desk and they immediately sent up a new set of blankets and pillow. HOWEVER, I had 4 pillows and they gave me one. No offer to redo the bed for me. They just handed me 2 blankets and 1 pillow. No change of OF FLAT SHEET OR COVER SHEET. I told them to smell the sheets and pillows. They refused. I paid for great, clean service and they were appalled I would ask them that. I cannot recommend or stay in a place where I don't think cleanliness is observed. I shall not return and I may report this to board of health. BEWARE! Just bc something looks clean doesn't mean it is. Appearance is deceiving. Tried to add photos. It wont allow me

The room I was given was dirty I went to take a shower after having a long night and there was green goop on the shower floor along with hair and a smudge of makeup on the bed sheets I was only there for about an hour and a half ended up leaving and booking with another hotel and stayed there instead the front desk guy was nice the room was not.

The exterior is nice in a nice area safe for walking to restaurants nearby clean area. Hotel restaurant staff was very accommodating. If you are picky about cleanliness I don’t recommend staying here. Light fixtures in our room next to our bed needed to be cleaned, windows were dirty and bathroom counter and garage can needed attention. Beds were ok.

Stay was pretty good overall. Nice room. Clean. Thinner walls so can hear some things from surrounding rooms. Shuttle service was not as easy as they like to make it out but still nice to have. No ironing board just a steamer and steamer was not that great

The Sonesta is conveniently located near the office. I stay here every time I visit. It is the most cost efficient option. The only complaint I have is that each time I visit, there is something broken in the room; TV twice, A/C once.

The location is a bit confusing. GPS made us turn to the parking structure on Mercantile when you should turn on Gillette Road. The hotel is nice, staff very pleasant and helpful. The room is clean except that there is an area on the wall that I think they are planning to cover it but it wasn't fully covered/glued properly. Wi-fi connection is poor. The door doesn't automatically close so you really have to double check & make sure door is closed when you leave or come in. We were talking for a couple of hours inside the room and wondered why conversations on the hallway was too loud to hear, only to find outit's because our door was halfway open. The rest of our stay was nice, comfortable, and convenient.

Can’t use the door to the room while someone is using the bathroom. Bathroom has barn doors that open when room door gets opened. Also, barn door fell on me when trying to slide the door to use the bathroom. Only one elevator working sometimes a secondary elevator would work but not enough to matter. The food at the restaurant was very good!

The shower diverter was very tight and it wasn't working. After complaining to the front desk that it took more than 20 mins to assign someone and have them come and help out. It caused a big delay for our appointments.

Nice hotel and room. Small annoyances… The motion detector light switch in the bathroom was set too short, so the lights always turned off mid-shower. Then there was an LED light, probably from a smoke detector, that kept blinking in the room, and it was bright enough to wake me up. And be prepared to pay for parking, though that seems the norm in Irvine. Again, small things at a pretty nice hotel.

Honest review: My overall experience here was awesome! I would definitely stay again. The walls in the room are a bit thin so you can hear your neighbors if they are talking loudly. The windows in the rooms do not open so I was disappointed I couldn't get fresh air flow. Most of the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. They are quick to get things to your room if you ask for it and they're quick to answer the front desk phone. Water is not complimentary outside of the two they give you on arrival so you'll want to buy your own at the store. The shuttle service was amazing and so convenient! The restaurant inside of the hotel is very pricey because the portions are ridiculously large (the downside is that you can't really take anything back to your room because no microwave so it feels like its not worth it). Overall I had great time and I appreciated how clean and updated the interior is. Staff told me they just went through a $20M renovation.

Lobby staff was inattentive and not welcoming. We walked in and waited there for over 5 minutes while the 2 staff just talked amongst themselves. There were no other guests in the lobby. The hotel does not provide any lotion, just a tiny hand soap in the bathroom.

This property has historically been one of my go-to stays for business travel due to its location and past service. Unfortunately, my most recent experience fell short of expectations. During my stay, the guests in the room next to mine played excessively loud music throughout the day and into the late evening. The noise was so disruptive it could be heard down the hallway. While the evening staff made an effort to address it, during the day I was told the volume did not violate the hotel’s standard noise policy—and was advised to leave my room to find a quieter space to work. As a business traveler paying over $400 per night, I expected to be able to work comfortably and productively from my room. This response felt dismissive and inconvenient. Some members of the staff seemed unwilling to consider reasonable flexibility, defaulting strictly to policy even when the disruption was clearly beyond normal limits. I hope the hotel reconsiders how it handles daytime noise complaints, particularly for business travelers. I will likely explore other accommodations closer to the SNA airport for future trips.

Vanessa was horribly rude and unprofessional. Her Manager Ashanti was a little better but still rude and short with me and my girlfriend. I thought at first maybe they were just having a bad day but all three days we were there we received the same energy. I had stayed at this hotel in the past and didn't have these issues.

The Sonesta was beautiful and the staff super friendly and helpful. Their shuttle driver, Pedro, was great...can't say enough about him. Our rooms were clean and amazing. The dining and downstairs area were so nice. We got in a little early so hung out and worked. So many options, very comfortable. The GM was nice. We came down for happy hour. The calamari was delicious. Would stay here next time over the Marriott where stayed the month before. It is now our go to hotel when we come to visit.

The Sonesta is conveniently located to the John Wayne airport, the 405 freeway and the 55 freeway. It's in a great part of Irvine surrounded by many food options. Checking in was a breeze in the rooms are clean and comfortable. This is a great place to stay for an overnight trip for business. Great location and very nice, clean rooms. Just wish FULL BAR was available at lunch time. Only beer was available for lunch. Stayed there twice in the past couple of weeks and enjoyed it. Will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is so nice at a great price point! Staff is always friendly and accommodating, the lobby is always clean, the rooms are comfy and I love that they have chromecast on the tvs so you can watch things from streaming apps on it! I’ve stayed here several times in the past year, it’s my go-to hotel in the area because of all these reasons. Dining is also nice, Haven Point has some yummy selections if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel to eat.

My g’daughter and I had visited Mission San Juan Capistrano. We decided to stay overnight at Sonesta Irvine because it has an indoor pool. We discovered how absolutely delicious the meals are at Sonesta Irvine. My g’daughter said that she would love to come to the hotel’s restaurant just to eat! When I told the manager her comment, he replied, “We get that a lot.”
