Granted this was a Cal Game weekend, but the fully booked hotel was expensive for what you get....a small room and bathroom, poorly functioning TV, windows, and tub. Service was horrible. We called for help with the tub plug and no one ever came up or called back. Besides location and the ability to walk to Memorial Stadium for the game, there is no reason to stay at this hotel. Desperately needs an upgrade, remodel and a facelift. Seems to be no different than when I was a student over 35 years ago. Breakfast on Sunday post game was good this time, with much faster service than 3-4 years ago. The tailgate in back was fun people watching with the students partying.

I had an excellent stay and would highly recommend. Well designed & curated rooms with comfortable bed, quiet/peaceful, as well as an abundance of third spaces downstairs (lobby, study/library, bar/cafe) for meetings or work. The staff were all quite friendly and helpful, and the location is ideal. I'll be having our team stay here for all future Berkeley based projects.

The hotel is a lovely older one; has been bought by Hilton but maintains its unique elegance. Rooms were comfortable but a little smaller than a typical newer modern room so just a heads up. Still roomy enough but just a little surprised when I saw it. Did not affect enjoyment of the stay. But the little touches each room has, the art and wallpapers give a special feel. Yana at front desk gave above-and-beyond service and we will definitely return. Great staff, comfy beds, great toiletry products, nice bar/restaurant. What’s not to love?
