Perfect location for a Cal Football game. But pre-game the bar, Henry’s seem ill-prepared for a pre-game crowd. I heard the bar tender tell a few people that he didn’t have what they wanted. Also, you have to look deep on the website to find out that they do not offer parking on game weekends. They did point us to a lot where we could park overnight (at $45 vs the hotel $35 charge)

Parking was terrible. We have stayed at this location once before with no problem. The second visit was terrible. Apparently they blocked off the parking lots for football tailgate party. This left no parking. Parking on the street is nearly impossible. There is a garage 2 blocks away but because of the football game the cost 55.00 per night. Then took 30 minutes to get into front door from outside because it was packed with students there to party. This all fine if I would have been aware of it. Hotel gave no awareness when booking room. I will find another place to stay when in town to visit my son.

We were told 24 hours before that there would not be parking on site due to a tail gating event.I would have booked somewhere else had I known that. We do not go to the Bay Area often and having on site parking was important to us. I called to see if they would reimburse for our parking fees and they said no. Loud noise coming from AC, conditioner bottle was empty, no bath stopper, service at dinner was awful. Food wasn't great. Overall, not a great experience.

Water pressure in the shower is terrible like there’s barely any water coming out. You would turn on the hot water and in the middle of your shower it turns cold and vice versa it’s absolutely terrible. The walls are so thin you can hear everything. Service is terrible and lack of employees.

Let me start by saying the staff at this hotel is absolutely lovely. They are the best part of the hotel. The property itself is very old and has that old smell to it. The rooms are TINY (I had 2 double beds and it was tight). No idea how more than 1 person could stay in this room. The bathroom was so small, as was the sink and every time I used it water went all over the floor. There was no hot water in the shower both days I stayed there so expect a freezing cold shower. The hotel walls are paper thin. I could EVERYTHING the people next door did (could even hear them opening food wrappers). At one point I thought someone was in my room because of the noise. Nope, just paper thin walls with no soundproofing. If you stay here request the top floor so nobody is walking above you (wood floors). This was honestly one of the worst facilities I have ever stayed at in my life and I do a solid amount of traveling.

I had ongoing/repeated issues with no hot water. Several times during my stay the hot water was out in my room. And when it did come back on, the temperature fluctuated wildly. So much so that the water in the shower would suddenly turn scalding hot, forcing me to jump out of the shower. A pretty major disruption in the stay. I doubt I would go back for fear of this same issue.

old hotel with unacceptable renovations. ( Now owned by Hilton) bathtub was old , no safety bars and unclean ( shower curtain liner and tiles had mold) bedrooms were not even close to soundproof. could hear everything in next room, hallways and upstairs. Serve yourself for any drinks ice etc

The front desk staff was friendly. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway/rooms and I noticed some blood stains on the shower towels as well as bed sheets. Before I got into bed, I found a small worm crawling on top of my sheets.

Come for the location and friendly front desk. Don’t come for the shower (weak, inconsistent temperature), or breakfast coffee efficiency (stood in a queue for 15 mins in lobby to get a cup of coffee). They are redoing the restaurant so maybe some steps in a positive direction, but rooms feel dark and old. Outdated bathrooms.

I have stayed here about 5 times. Always good! Some of the rooms are pretty small but the location makes up for it! Nice staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Definitely recommend!

We have stayed at other Graduates, but this one had some definite issues. The walls are not insulated very well, so you hear your neighbors. Also, there is a pizza joint across the street on the NW corner open until 2:00 AM. This has become a gathering place for students and other young folks, so very noisy for our three nights between 1:00 AM and 2:30 AM. We couldn't sleep during those hours. Our second night saw the police breaking up the crowds about 2:30 AM. Likely to get worse because they are building new student housing right next door. So unless they change the hours of the pizza place across the street facing west, this place cannot accommodate people who need to sleep between those early morning hours. Be warned!

Pretty awful experience. They had no parking at check-in. So I parked in the taxi zone while I ran in to check in and ask what to do. When I went back minutes later, the car had a ticket. They really need to have more parking and/or a sign telling guests there is a parking lot around the block. They took no responsibility for the ticket. Then they said there was a food credit of $25 a day. They credited this the first day but not the second. Then they charge $37 a day for parking (around the block, self-parking)--pretty exorbitant. And the price does not include various taxes and junk fees. $25per day "Destination Fee"! What on earth is that? Really left with the feeling of having been ripped off.

The staff didn’t clean in room everyday. I called to have some more set of coffees he came by the room to leave two pieces of coffee, but I asked him about cups, milk cartons, stirs etc. he replied angrily that I didn’t tell more details. He is very rude and I refused to give tips.

It was a rough start for this stay. We tried to park in their lot and there were signs everywhere saying no parking due to tailgate event. So we called the hotel and asked the employee where we should park instead and she was unsure. So we finally found a random lot and came to check in and that employee gave us a paper that had information of the parking garage we were supposed to park in...which would have been helpful to know when we called. Also while we were waiting to check in, their system wasn't working apparently because one guest was upset their key didn't work and another was upset because the room they were assigned had guests in it already. Thankfully we didn't have any issues once we were in the room which was fine and comfortable enough for the night stay.

Check in took a long time-- they could have used more desk staff during peak check-in times. It would have been nice if we could have used our free drink vouchers but the restaurant/bar was too full. Really lovely hotel and friendly staff however.

Funky hotel with great artwork, comfortable bed and yummy restaurant. Great service at the front desk. The person inline in front of me was having some kind of issues and didn’t want to discuss it infront of other people. The young lady behind the desk immediately recognized she needed privacy and invited the guest to come around to the side to speak to her privately. It was seamless and classy and so well done.

This hotel was a great surprise. Location, style, comfort and service were excellent. We walked to coffee shops, restaurants and to explore the Berkeley campus. A second shout out to service, everyone was super friendly and helpful.

Really nice, comfortable hotel. Great vibe with lots of seating in the lobby to hang out. Every staff member we encountered was really nice. Very walkable and the perfect choice for getting to a show at the Greek Theater. Lots of places to eat nearby too. The only concern could be parking, but we scored a spot in front of the hotel, which was super convenient. I would definitely stay at The Graduate again!!

Classic historical hotel built in the mid 1920’s now owned by Hilton. The rooms are old charm and reflect the history of Cal Berkeley. This hotel is just a 7 minute walk to the campus entrance. Immediately outside the hotel is a good variety of shops and places to eat around the neighborhood. My complaint is the hotel food and service. We were tired and ate an early dinner at the hotel. Food choices were limited and pricey but you had a waitress. My beef is the breakfast. Instead of sit down with a waitress you Get in line order and wait. Breakfast sandwich was a greasy egg and sausage Pattie on a hamburger bun. The coffee tasted like instant (same as in the rooms) and my daughter’s Matcha drink was terrible. I expected better from a Hilton owned property and the hotel manager needs to take notice. Again, go OUTSIDE the hotel for all your meals! I won’t make that mistake again

Fun theme, feels like you're in an old apartment building, key word being old. The parking was very limited, had we not gotten there at 3 I don't know where we would have been directed to go. The restaurant was ok. The salads were limp and overdressed. Breakfast sandwich in the morning was good. We stayed here for the location to the Greek. Construction right next door started at 7am.

We had a great stay. The elevators both made us nervous. Bar was great. Cafe associated to the hotel had pretty mediocre coffee drinks. And baked goods. Nobody drank much of theirs or ate their baked selections. But we loved the room.

Super noisy until late at night. Tried to eat in the restaurant but staff never noticed us standing there to take our to-go order. Next time we tried we ordered and paid and they never made our food so we ended up having to leave to drive home and the cook still hadn’t shown up. Awful!!
