Fitness rooms are a joke, barely large enough for 2 people at a time. Pool areas were very nice, plenty of space with lots of chairs and the pools were large to accommodate lots of people. Staff was very nice. Overall cleanliness was really good. Would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed at. Very impressed with the property and all it had to offer. The fitness facility was nice and big. Definitely one of biggest fitness facilities I’ve ever seen at a resort.

Great location and area! Not far from Old Town, other restaurants, shopping, and night life. Rental car company on site (this was so convenient!). Shuttle bus that took you anywhere within 2 miles (this was a huge perk!). Breakfast buffet at the restaurant was $25 and was everything and more- it was nice to start the day with breakfast at the resort everyday. Rooms have coffee makers and mini fridge- ours had a bar/sink area too. The pools were crowded on the weekend and we couldn’t get a chair. Weekdays the pools were empty and it was nice. The grounds were nice and easy to navigate and walk. The staff went above and beyond they were friendly and top notch. The rooms slightly outdated but clean and cleaned daily. They’re a good size all the space you need for two people. I understand they’re starting some renovations. The rooms must be soundproof, we didn’t hear a thing outside of our room. Try to get a second floor room with a nice view. We tried but nothing was available and we had a first floor with a walkout patio but there was no view just grass and a walkway between pools. The staff at check-in was helpful and looked for other rooms to move us, the resort was just full. Be sure and book a room with a view up front! Parking was free or included in daily resort fee. Bottled water available 24/7 at the desk when needed. The view of Camelback mountain outside the front entrance is gorgeous especially at sunset. No real complaints from us!

I stayed at this hotel for six days while in Scottsdale for a tournament. The property is a bit tucked away, but once you find it you realize how large it is. Upon check-in, I was greeted with two warm cookies and friendly directions to my room from the front desk staff. The room itself was spacious and cozy, and the hotel offers two pools, each with different perks—one with restrooms and the other with a bar. Overall, my stay was great. The rooms were comfortable, the bar food was solid, and the atmosphere was relaxing. My only (minor) complaints: there was no true cold water, which was tough on 100+ degree days when I wanted a cold shower—the pipes only seemed to put out warm or hot water. Also, the pool near the lobby doesn’t have restrooms, so you need to walk to the second pool to use them. Still, those were small inconveniences. Overall, a really enjoyable stay.

This is a resort that has very high potential for being excellent. It IS, however, in the need of several improvements: The rooms are outdated and need updates, including new front doors and updated showers and baths. The gym is excellent and well-cared for, but the adjacent "spa" is incredibly dangerous with a slippery floor waiting for an accident to happen. What a shame if someone falls and breaks a limb or ends up suing this great hotel. The steam room was out of service and the sauna was never turned on. The nearby attendant was unable to help. Finally, the pools do not seem to be heated. Have stayed at the property twice now and both times the two pools were very cold.

Shannon at the Front Desk was marvelous. She addressed my concerns quickly and professionally. The location close to Old Town and the Fashion Square Mall were great. My concerns - the pool was dirty and there was no lifeguard. The complimentary shuttle service did not always work well - the phone connection to locate a driver when offsite did not work and the timeliness was problematic because of the limited number of drivers.

We thought the resort was amazing! Even though there was some construction going on, we didn't feel the impact hardly at all. We were there mostly on a weekend when there was no construction, and there was a little noise on Monday. However, the staff were all so kind and helpful. My daughter and I loved the pool - the warm one! It was so pretty and fun. The view from our room overlooking the pool was lovely. My one recommendation is better music played around the resort, Top 40s is a great station for all! Overall, we had an amazing stay and hope to return soon for another fun time!!! (They gave us cookies too!)

Good rooms, comfortable beds. An extra chair would be useful for the room. Our room did not have patio chairs for some reason, but I asked at the reception and the chairs have appeared faster than I reached my room. Breakfast is good and there is enough variety of the food. Parking is available, although you may not always be able to park next to your section, especially if you return late. Pools are fine, but the space around them is very limited. Much appreciated the ice-cold drinking water available at the pools.

There were bed bugs in the room we stayed at. Got bit multiple times, had to go wash all clothing at laundromat, and ointments for bites. Extremely unpleasant to have experienced this while staying one night. Submitted a report and hoping to get compensation and the facility does a thorough cleaning of rooms before allowing guests to stay there.

We got into our room and there was one washcloth and only two towels and one hand towel. The coffe cups were disarray and not clean. Carpets were dirty and the back patio had left over coffee cups on dust dirty table and patio needed to be swept and clean. No maid service at all.

The staff at the front desk was very nice but the amenities were awful. Room was dusty and old. Nothing through the booking said the resort was under construction. So the tennis courts were torn out and workout room was in a very dingy smelling hotel room with such limited equipment. These things were reasons why this place was picked. The room key also only worked occasionally to get into the pool areas. House keeping didn’t come until I asked, then didn’t stock coffee or towels. Also they didn’t clean anything just made the beds and took dirty towels. But one day they only made one bed and left the other one as is.

Great property in the Scottsdale area. Exactly what we were looking for; a quiet get away and everyone was very nice. Only issue I had was the cleanliness of our room. There were crumbs on the floor from a cookie and melted chocolate on the chair, also a giant toe nail on one side of the bed. The comforters had brown stains on them, and there was a pubic hair on the toilet seat. Lastly the tub didn't drain well at all and there was zero conditioner left in the container.

Sprawling resort in the heart of Scottsdale. Near famous fashion square Mall, all of Scottsdale's great restaurants, golf and shopping. Two pools and all the rooms are on only two floors so no long walk ups. I've been here a few times and it's always lively, if you are near a pool then it's pretty loud until the pool closes, if you aren't near the pool it's pretty peaceful. This is also a popular place for conferences so it can be really busy. I've enjoyed meeting people and the generally happy atmosphere. The pools and common areas can be busy and parking is tight. Rooms are big and I think they all have balconies or patios which is really nice

I was there for 2 nights. The hotel is outdoors and it was raining I had to walk in the rain to my room with my suitcases. when got to the door I found out the key isnt working, waited for 20 min in the rain for someone to come and open. T.V had a problem too- this was fixed later. When I wanted to take a shower found out there was NO HOT WATER.

This is an older resort that is in the middle of renovations. It’s a great location. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. One manager even called an Uber for me when their shuttle wasn’t available. The grounds are lovely and it was very quiet. I appreciated having a small balcony where I could sit and drink coffee in the morning. The rooms are a bit dated and had a slight musty smell, but were clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Hotel registration staff was unfriendly and not very accommodating. Room was ice cold. When maintenance came over to check it, we were informed that the hotel os older and only has the capability of either having it set on A/C or heat. You get one or the other, but you can’t have both. Once they switch it over to heat it will only blow out hot air. If you get too hot, then you can have them come back and switch it back to cold air.’This was ridiculous & we were frozen. Went down to the pool to relax & decided to use the hot tub…only one jet works. All the rest were broken. So disappointing. The property is not well maintained. The hotel sign nearhe street looks old & tired. and The carpet in our room was stained & bathrooms are tiny. Food was delicious!

Hotel seemed to be short staffed. Took me over 25 minutes to check in, only two attendants, at times only one. One stayed on a phone call the entire time I was waiting. I personally think you need to take care of your customers in front of you before you stay on a long phone call. Our room desperately needed a refresh and up grade. See the photo. The grounds of the property are beautiful and very well maintained. Each morning at the marketplace, where Starbucks is located, they only had one person working behind the counter. Every single morning I was at the resort and went for morning coffee, there were at least 20 people in line and it moved very slow.

Excellent staff all around….and responsiveness to questions and issues was amazing and were resolved quickly and professionally. Probably the most effective front desk staff I’ve encountered in 50 plus years of traveling. This is a really great Doubletree property and well maintained and managed.

I stay at this hotel for 5 days and in those 5 days my bed sheets was never changed. I reported this to the front desk and she stated sheets are only changed upon request. I requested the sheets to be changed after she said this but still the sheets were not changed. The cleaner re made the beds with the same dirty sheets. I reported this to the front desk and the receptionist attempted to make mends by offering me a cup of coffee. I didn’t think it was fair I had to go through this but they did nothing to rectify my issues I was having with them. The Only good thing about this hotel was the convenience of having a rental car company on site and being close to numerous attractions.

Lost a watch that had a lot of meaning to me in the seating area between the bar and a table tennis area. I accidentally left it on the the table and were the last ones there last night. When I asked the front desk early this morning if the cleaning team or anyone had turned in the watch the clerk was not interested in helping and didn’t check with anyone about it. Unfortunately I had to leave this morning and Ive tried calling today to follow up on this and all ive gotten is the answering machine in a loop, no one picks up. I really did expect better service from this place

Great place, we enjoyed our weekend here. The grounds and pool areas are beautiful. We appreciate the Saturday DJ at the pool. The restaurant is convenient and delicious. All the staff were very friendly. The shuttle is a huge perk! We will definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the DoubleTree Paradise Valley! Having the Starbucks on-site was a great touch and never felt overcrowded. Breakfast was great, staff were wonderful, and pool was refreshing. Others mentioned the bathrooms being a bit outdated, which we would agree, but they were clean and got the job done.
