Westmark is a great choice. It has restaurant and bar open late and is good. Great coffee shop in lobby gift shop. We also ordered Door Dash and hotel allows to room delivery which helped!

Hotel was fine. Sounds like new ownership ( not confirmed) is in place. Our room was out of bath soap which is strange. Front desk mentioned the order hasn’t come in. Tough luck for us I guess. We ran to Safeway for bar soap. Vending machines on every floor are empty. Assuming a new contract is yet to be in place with the vendor. Our keys stopped working after the first night and we had to have them renewed. Minor hiccups but overall decent price for two night stay. Seems like Managers could easily fix a few things. If your order of soap is out then buy some local. Run to Costco. Gotta figure out how to make things happen. At least keep the essentials available.

Everything except the restaurant team is amazing. We love staying here, but truly terrible service in the restaurant. Always takes 15-30 minutes just get greeted. Never friendly. Mediocre food. One even supervisor- young lady was the exception, she was quick and friendly the one one time we saw her. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, great stay over service. Vending machines need replaced. We have donated a lot of money along with other guests to them.

Older property than i expected. Hallways smelled musty and hallway carpets needed a good cleaning. Old thermostat in the room made it hard to keep a constant temperature. Great location near downtown. Plenty of parking. Lots of cruise tourists. Front desk staff were great.

Guest shop was closed for the winter, not shocked there its mostly just business and family trips during the winter months. Decent continental breakfast, solid in hotel restaurant. Plug-ins were available for the rental car's block heater. Definite plus there

Very busy with cruise/bus tours so restaurants full and not much nearby to get food. Vending machine on our floor did not work but front desk staff did warn us that was possible. Staff we encountered were excellent.

Our room was disgusting. Blood on a chair, bathroom…I have no words for. Maybe because we in a different tower that doesn’t cater to the cruise ships? It was overall, gross.

This is an older property that could use some updating. That being said, the rooms were VERY spacious and clean. There is a restaurant downstairs that was pretty good. The front desk staff and housekeeping were wonderful and very helpful.

Our room was dirty and there was no housekeeping at all. You had to request service, which would be fine, but I would think picking up trash would be a concern n everyday thing. There were stains in the furniture and not all the power outlets worked. Check in was 3:00pm and we were told we couldn’t check in because our room wasn’t ready. Very frustrating after a long day of travel.

Internet was reliable. The room needed to be dusted. The shower seemed clean with the exception of a wad of hair stuck to the wall. One side of the bed was concave but because I was there by myself, I slept on the other side.

The heat was controlled by a rheostat— not a thermostat. I could either make room cooler or warmer with no indication whatsoever about temperature. At night I turned to cooler but a few hour later I woke up cold. Turned to warmer and later was sweating. Went on all night with me making less dramatic changes to no avail. Hot, cold, hot, hot, etc. I thought the second night I could d better but that did not happen. Buy a $50 thermostat and replace the rheostat. It’s not my job to regulate the heat in your hotel.

The room was fine, the hotel and restaurant and bar were nice. There was no AC. We had a fan we found in the closet which helped only a little but it was almost unbearable. We turned the AC on and it made noise but you couldn’t feel any air movement from it and nothing cool at all.

Unable to connect to the internet from the 6th floor, thus unable to work, the room had wet spots on the floor around the fridge and the room smelled of urine and socks. Stay often for work and usually the room is very nice. Overall disappointed.

We have never met a more rude staff at a hotel property! Our check in was awful! The man checking my husband and our friend in was unbelievably rude. The next morning I went to the front desk to request a microwave, the reply was “our rooms don’t have microwaves” I responded with “Our friends room has a microwave “ she responded with “not all rooms have a microwave.” I also asked her to have someone go in and look at our tv because it would play for about 3 minutes then freeze. No one ever came to look at the tv so the entire 3 days when we watched tv we would piece together the show because of constant freezing. Upon check out, I walked up and stated that I wanted to check out, the lady said “drop your keys in the box” and throw your trash in the bin.” No offer of a receipt or anything. Never staying here again!

The service at the front desk and the tour desk was horiffic. The service in the red lantern bar and the gift shop was exceptional. Our room was dated and although clean the bottom sheets didn’t fit the beds, we had to ask twice to have our room serviced and it wasn’t for two days. Every time we went to use our door keys they didn’t work. The people at the front desk we border line rude and abrupt. It all seemed too hard to them and the lady at the tourism desk was Zero help and didn’t really want to help me anyway. Overall the experience was very disappointing and we would never stay there again.

I enjoyed the Westmark as an easy location to visit during my work trip to Fairbanks with easy parking and in house food options. Unfortunately, at this stay I was put into the Aurora Suite that had an AC unit out that could not be fixed by maintenance, the toilet was not flushing well, the room was too dark and not enough lighting and there was no desk to work from. That with the very high price for the stay in the room was not great but I'm certain the Westmark will hopefully be making improvements for the future.

We stayed an extra day on our trip so we booked a night here. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was a couple of blocks from the central bus location to catch a bus to different parts of the city. The bus maps and routes were very easy to figure out. The hotel had a shuttle that took us to the airport at end of our stay. The hotel is located in the downtown area, close to restaurants

Not really walkable to many dining options besides the hotel. Gift shop open very short hours if you need toothpaste, etc. It was a mile walk each way to get to Safeway for cold medicine. Definitely an older building and in need of updating. The carpet in our room had rips in it.

Very nice hotel. Room was large, attractive, and clean. Lobby area spacious, with restaurant to the left. Friendly staff. Not really near anything, a long half mile walk to a few places to eat.

The hotel caters to, and profits from, the cruise ship industry. Almost everyone who stays here are off the ship. They charge $24 for a buffet breakfast, and don't even have individual items for small eaters, so we walked two blocks away from downtown to a fun coffee shop for drive thru. At night the downtown is pretty vacant, probably because there are a lot of homeless. If you have a car, stay at a cheaper motel, drive intown during day.

Stayed here after the extended stay was a disaster. Checked in quickly and stayed here for our entire week stay. There was listed a breakfast included but the restaurant has been sold and now is 24.00 per person. No free breakfast any longer. Just be aware and there are great cheeper options close by.

Bed was sunken in, could feel the springs. Sheets didn't fit, blanket cover was scratchy and uncomfortable. Toilet was super loud, could hear every one else flushing as well waking you up in the night. Breakfast was $25/PP Buffett the highlights were powder eggs, soggy bacon, sausage patties, and stale home style potatoes. No waffles or pancakes available. No daily room service unless requested.

The food was cold. For over $20 it was cold bacon, cold slices of French toast, and French fries. No eggs, and it didn't feel like guests were truly prioritized. People come from across the world and this is supposed to be a high class hotel. Do better.

Staff was friendly and helpful, very efficient. The place is very outdated and needs remodeled. Rooms are very dated and could be a bit cleaner. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was not good. Needs definite improvement! More options, hot food not room temp, and sausage fully cooked would be a good improvement. At dinner and lunch the soup was good, hamburger was good. Everything else was tolerable. Need a better cook!
