Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful! Tons of shopping and restaurants very close to hotel..some places even in walking distance. Nice patio outback of hotel. Pool was a good temperature and clean. Towels were provided in pool area. Breakfast was nice and had a lot of different hot options (omelettes-cheese and egg white), sausage and turkey sausage, pancakes, oatmeal. Only complaint with breakfast was the coffee creamer was out and I asked if it could be replaced, but waited for about 10 minutes and still wasn’t replaced, so decided to just get coffee elsewhere. Overall, very pleased with our stay and would return!

Overall the property and room were new, nice, and clean. It may seem like a small thing, but the window had a blackout shade set in a track so no light got in from outside. That was nice. Biggest negative was the staff member at the desk when we checked in. We rented a suite with a pullout couch, which we needed for our kids. I put in our reservation note that we needed sheets for that bed. When we got there, she gave us sheets, but no blanket. We assumed one would be in the room. There wasn’t. My wife went down and asked for one, along with a couple more towels. She said she would look and bring one up. We waited an hour without hearing anything. I went back down and asked if she had found a comforter or blanket. She said she would grab a comforter. Problem solved. Except she came back and handed me a flat sheet. I said, “That’s not a comforter,” and she looked very confused. I asked for a blanket and she told me they were “all out”. The hotel was far from full and we could have just gotten a comforter from an unoccupied room, but she seemed more interested in eating with her boyfriend in the lobby than making an effort to help find a blanket for my kids. Also, somewhat minor, but we were planning to swim, but the pool was cloudy, unclean, and we decided not to. There are plenty of other options, so we will stay elsewhere next time.

Everything was absolutely fine. Staff was friendly upon check in and check out. Room was clean. Breakfast was your standard breakfast but it was only open until 9:30am…a little longer would’ve been nice. My daughter said the pool was cold and it was smaller than I expected. Only comfortable for a few families. Would stay again if needed as the price was right.

Check in went well and the man who checked us in was friendly and kind. We made it to our room which seemed clean and comfortable. Unfortunately that changed when we went to settle in for the night. The pull out bed in the couch had a dirty sheet on it that was stained with blood. The blood had soaked through to the mattress. The don’t desk came with clean sheets but there were no other rooms to go in. So we had to flip the mattress and put clean sheets on ourself. My kids were grossed out sleeping on that mattress. Other than that it went well.

I am a very forgivable person and one that acknowledges that there can be issues but how those issues are resolved is what's important. So this hotel is clean and fresh concerning the lobby, breakfast and pool as well as the grounds. However, the rooms are clean but questionable. Our first room had a used and unclean toilet but the rest of the room looked clean. We shifted rooms to find a clean toilet but toe nails (multiple) and trash on the floor. After a look around the room was clean but the floor wasn't vacuumed or swept. So, the room was not consistent. However the beds were clean and good to go. So myself and 2 kids went to bed only to find out the heater would not turn off. So it was hot but better than nothing. So overall, I would stay again but in terms of IHG they were not up to par for this Holiday Inn Express. They are usually on point. I will say the staff was kind and sweet. I feel that they are very capable of being amazing. They just need to dial in on housekeeping.

A quick overnight ahead of a campus visit to JMU. Property was very clean and parking was easy, close to door. Room was anything but sound proof. We could easily hear hallway conversations, the flushing of a toilet or shower running above us, closing of car doors (we were on second floor). The inability to turn on the fan made it that much more difficult to sleep well with the intense silence interrupted by these noises.

This is the freshest smelling hotel of its kind — super clean and well maintained. Breakfast starts early, which is a plus. The pool is in good shape. If you want full room cleaning service each day, you may have to request it explicitly. We stayed 3 nights and housekeeping changed out the toilet paper, but that was all. They were cleaning rooms all day long, but perhaps the focus is on rooms people have vacated. Beds were comfy. Blackout curtains are great.

The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars on the room is it was surprisingly easy to hear the guests in the room above us moving around, walking, and could hear housekeeping vacuuming. Surprising because this is a newly constructed hotel so I would expect better sound proofing.

The hotel was great but was charged twice for the room. Already paid through Hotels.com then charged again by the motel. After 3 attempts to resolve issue with management and no return calls from Mr. Miller, we have disputed the charge through our credit card company. Very unprofessional and irresponsible behavior from manager to ignore this. We will not be staying here again. Lots of other options available in the area.
