Downtown Dover Inn

The place was surprisingly comfortable - a decommissioned Days Inn. We were perfectly content there. The pool was green with algae, however, and things were somewhat run down. And on checkout they used a small, easily treatable stain on one sheet to justify a 50 dollar charge. The facility is comfortable but keep. your eyes open and maybe don't swim.

When checking in to a room already payed for online, it didnt say anything about a deposit being put on hold. That is something important that needs to be on website when booking. It was very clean, disliked the breakfast. Online it say continental breakfast but there was only bread to toast, cereal and coffee. Also the pool has to much chlorine in it. All in all it was an ok stay, rooms are clean and updated..

Picked for the pool, and it did not look ready to use.

The staffing appeared to consist of only three men—two handled check-in/check-out, and the third seemed to manage maintenance or housekeeping. Most of the time, all three were sitting on the patio couch outside the guest entrance, chatting and laughing. That alone wouldn’t have bothered me, but it was frustrating considering the overall state of the property. The pool was a major disappointment—cloudy, dirty, and clearly neglected. I never once heard a pump running or saw anyone attempt to clean it, and unsurprisingly, no guests used it. This is a shame because the pool and its surrounding area have potential if properly maintained. The room’s air conditioning didn’t work, making the stay uncomfortable, and the amenities listed on the website were not delivered as expected. The breakfast was underwhelming—just cereal, bagels, oatmeal packets, and coffee. Also worth noting: none of the rooms have microwaves. There’s only one for guest use, and it’s oddly located in the pool area near the lobby entrance—right by where the staff hang out. Lastly, there’s a $100 deposit that is not mentioned anywhere on their site or booking platforms. For a 3-star hotel (being generous), that’s excessive—especially considering even many 5-star hotels charge much less. Overall, a disappointing experience with a lot of missed potential.

Remote wouldn’t work, air conditioner was old and had broken slats, pool said it was heated but water was cold and didn’t seem like the jets in the pool were even on to circulate the water

Pool wasn't working. Breakfast was cold cereal, bagels w/ no cream cheese or toast. You have to ASK for orange juice. I asked for towels never got them. Never came to clean our room. Keurig didn't work. Floors were FILTHY. Pic below.

For a nonsmoking property, there were a lot of smokers outside the guest rooms, making everything in the motel smell like cigarettes. There were a bunch of kids just hanging out on the sidewalk and outside guest rooms day and night. Pool was closed for maintenance.

Room was not good - no curtain on window so open to pool, fridge didn't work, mattresses terrible, breakfast was not much, ice machine didn't work.

This property had some good points. The pool looked clean and nice so if you had kids or loved swimming that’s a perk. We stayed in 2 rooms, beginning and end of trip. Both had been updated and seemed clean. You could walk and find groceries, restaurants, stores and even a cool museum complex just 15 min walk away. Now the bad points. The rugs in the rooms were filthy. The ice machine was not working and the breakfast provided was bagged muffins, bread, fruit, and instant oatmeal. Coffee wasn’t always ready at opening either. No microwave in the rooms. For a one or two night stay when flying into Pease Airport, it’s fine, only a 15-20 minutes ride and the cheapest option around. I wouldn’t want anything longer though.

I am requesting a refund. We didn't stay at the hotel. After checking in, we realized it was dirty, rooms smelled of animals and pulling back the comforter, the sheets were dirty.

The room smelled of smoke, the rug was stained, there was black mold in the bathroom, the bathroom door was broken. There was trash (paper, food, beer cans) strewn on the grounds, in the stair well and throughout the parking lot. Someone in the parking lot sped out. I felt very unsafe with my 16 year old daughter.

The room was not what we expected. It feels like the room was neglected, the bathroom wall needs to be fixed the right way not just patches, the head board on the bed was absolutely disgusting a lot of stains.

The location is so convenient to most places. The room I stayed was so clean and smell great.

The worst room I have ever stayed in. It should be a crime with how deceiving the pictures are. The room looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the new owners took over. Hotels.com should disassociate themselves with this establishment. It will be shut down by the board of health.

The room was filthy. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting. Black dirty hand prints on the door, looked like animal scratches on the headboard. Wouldn’t walk barefoot.

Very dirty hotel, smelled very bad, I don’t end up staying and couldn’t get a refund

The room was great! Spotlessly clean, fresh smelling and the bed was extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay there again!

This was one of the worst places we’ve stayed at all summer (we’ve traveled a lot!). The write up promised a continental breakfast, heated pool, and decent looking rooms. We discovered a DIRTY floor (my daughters feet were BLACK) so I asked the front desk worker if someone could run a vacuum real quick, no big deal, he opened the door and pointed at a vacuum and said “here” signaling that I needed to vacuum the floor myself. There were bugs on the floor, flies all over the place, and homeless people all over the place. The continental breakfast was not much of a breakfast, the bananas had flies on them, there was no coffee, and the room was dirty

Memory foam bed was extremely uncomfortable, pool was out of service for maintenance, room had a mirror angled towards a window with no privacy shade. Had request a new room.

Great location and the room was clean and well stocked. Door jam looked like it was kicked in and replaced leaving a gap to the outside so it was very noisy for most of the night (Sat). The bed was extra firm and too hard for my taste.

The pillows! I tried to stay up while doing some work, but the four pillows on the bed were too cozy. I fell right to sleep!

Right off the highway, a couple minutes from town. A very spacious and clean room. Wonderful for the cost!

It was ok bed was comfortable, the door to the outside had a 1/4 inch gap around it so it was chilly. Put the heat on and the heater sounded like a plane was going over every time it started Continental breakfast was not so great day old bread but coffee was good

It wasn’t the best , when you come in there’s a hole in the walll and lamp broken down, the bathroom was good until you shower they got like a small curtain that doesn’t cover the whole tub so when u get out there’s a puddle of water on the floor had to put like 3 towels on the floor .

This is an old hotel. The room had some wall damage, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

NOISE! Upstairs till 3am!!

Ok for an overnight, especially if you are tired. Too much light coming thru seem of door and frame... too much light coming between black out curtains, bed comfortable, AC worked well, bathroom looked updated

The smoke detector was not in working order. Only part of it was on the wall with wires hanging out of it. The pool was closed for what reason I don't know. Disappointing as we were planning to swim while we were there. It was quite noisy there. You could hear people outside the room talking at all hours and clomping down the outside stairwell. It was quite warm in the room and if you tried to cool it down, the unit would blow directly on the bed causing a major draft on your body. There was no way to redirect the airflow. Also, our in room phone rang once around 3 in the morning. Just enough to wake us from a deep sleep. Hence it was not a good restful stay for us.

The staff was excellent. We checked in super late and they were very accommodating. We were disappointed that the pool was closed. The room was reasonably comfortable, but the dog in the room next door barking at the kid knocking at 2am was annoying (not in their control though).

Staff lost some property we accidently left behind. Very unhelpfuk And while dogs are allowed, very unhelpful and rude while checking in with Rover 🐶

The front office staff was helpful and so chill. He handled that place wonderfully!

The front desk manager was on the speaker phone talking while trying to deal with me. The power was out & was not turned on until 4 hours later.

The property was not as advertised. I was not aware that the property was set up like a Motel instead of a Hotel. It appeared as thought the property was also used as an extended stay facility. Didn't feel 100% safe going and coming from my room, since i was there alone. Was awoken by shoveling of stones and loud music. Amenities were not explained to me when I checked in. I did not know where to go for the complimentary breakfast, so I did not take advantage of it.

Friendly staff. Reserved king pool view, had to change rooms, gave me two doubles and the room was 900 degrees. Room was changed without issue. Some things didn’t work quite right in the room. But overall an ok stay.

It was a terrible stay. man entered our room while we're inside.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are very clean. It is a very nice place to stay.

In the Downtown area easy access

Right off the highway, a couple minutes from town. A very spacious and clean room. Wonderful for the cost!

Not the newest or best, but a good value for the price. Staff is helpful and available. Bed and linens were clean. Close to lots of restaurants and easy access to UNH.

I don't agree with some of the recent poor reviews. It was fine for a quick weekend stay. Room was clean but could definitely use some hard-surface floor instead of those old carpets. I didn't try the breakfast but based on what I saw I would head to one of the many great options nearby. Great location though, plenty of parking, and quick walk to the parking garage to charge my EV. Good value for the area.

Rooms were not in the best condition. Renovation needed. But the location was good.

The property looked clean, It is in a cute little town, there are several walkable dining options, it felt safe.

Great place and nice , quiet location

This is directly in downtown with plenty of parking, so it made it super easy to be central & do a lot of exploring. We stayed with our toddler & the king-sized bed room was plenty big enough for all of us. The indoor pool was the reason I booked & it was awesome for us to have privacy while playing with our child in the water. The towels provided are not full size so definitely bring your own if you want to wrap yourself to dry off. It's a 2-star hotel so if you're expecting extreme luxury, you will need to go elsewhere, but everything was clean, the AC was cold, the amenities were great, & the stay was super easy. My only grip was the water pressure in the bath was super low (isn't it always in a hotel?) & there are are no hooks & no towel bar to hang things up in there.

I choose this because another Expedia hotel in town canceled my room. The room was spartan a real no tell motel the continental breakfast was disgusting old fruit the toaster didn’t work and the coffee was horrible no butter either I didn’t dare try the milk or oh and the. Oatmeal was past it’s expiration date

Not as advertised booked a reservation that said pay upon check in charged my card before arrival advertises heated pool when went in pool it was cold told they shut the pool heater off in warmer months so not a heated pool as advertised. There breakfast was absolutely horrendous went down they had toast with only two containers of peanut butter available the cereal was stale they had bagels but no cream cheese would not ever stay again and will definitely not be recommending them to anyone else. I will be calling for a refund as it was not worth the price charged

The room was nice and clean and I enjoyed it. The staff was nice but the continental breakfast was a real joke. There was almost nothing but some coffee, OJ, and stale cereal. I recommend you just go grab food elsewhere.

Needs more variety for breakfast. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was nice and clean.

I felt the room we stayed in was just okay. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was clean and fresh. The water was hot and the pressure was good. The towels were white and fairly new. However, the rug was very dirty, the toilet was loose, and the walls were scratched up and in need of paint. The balcony area and stairs were not kept up well. Lots of cigarette butts. The dining area was not satisfactory. The area was not air conditioned, the food was limited (the staff said they were in short supply), the windows and the glass on the doors were filthy. The young man working was on his phone and did not seem to see that a little effort on his part could have greatly improved the situation. We did not swim, but the pool looked fine. The kids swimming seemed to be enjoying it. This place could have been much better than it was. It is too bad.

No breakfst food, Pool closed for maintence and not one told us, soda machine had no soda to purchase, they lock the kitche/ breakfast doors, no microwaves onoy one was by the kitchen area and was dirty.

It was central for people who intended to visit other places and mainly the beach. In the other hand the breakfast was very poor and they even serve some disgusting bagels (expire)
