I liked how close it was to everything, the amenities ( having a kitchen, bbq, swimming pool, gym beach towels, mini store) I didn't having to pay for parking lol, and there was construction going on but wasn't bad. Room did not get cleaned until day 4 But other than that I would stay there again !

Great ocean view rooms with lanai, awesome pool and family bbq area with diamond head view 6th floor, small store on 5th floor. Only con was the very slow elevator system, one was out of service for the whole stay.

This is an older property, but it is very well kept and is great for families with lots of amenities. there is a small shop in the hotel, the pool is nice, and there is a large BBQ are with tables, grills, and all the necessary equipment. 2 blocks from Waikiki, very walkable.

The hotel is located just two blocks from the beach. The building is old but well maintained and managed. It is great for a family with kids. They have a pool and multiple gas grill which is cleaned daily. I would visit again

Dirty carpet in hallways, my room was extremely hot, ac would cool down over night but only in living room, pool towels had to be checked out of front office (extremely inconvenient) especially coming from pool soaking wet and having to get in line at front office for towels. Parking was hit and miss. 35.00 a day be prepared to pay if you don’t there’s a $90 surcharge if you don’t pay the same day. Location was pretty good

Hotel is in a good location just a few blocks from the beach. Room is good with a small kitchen. Downside, one elevator working out of four. Took for ever! Housekeeping is done on the third day, but our housekeeper was awesome!!! TV cable only worked for one day. Parking is quite expensive and it was under construction. Parking sucks!

This property is extremely dated. 1. The worst part about this property was the elevators. Lines reached all the way to the entrance of the hotel. (Got stuck in the elevator twice.) 2. The room was very dated. From the televisions, bathrooms, to the decor. Felt like we were staying in my Grandparents condo from the 80's. 3. Parking was a nightmare due to construction with no signs anywhere to go. 4. Resort fee is kind of a joke. Definitely not a resort. A pool with towels, DVD rentals, and some museum. 5. Very sketchy at night. While security sat at there desk area in the lobby my wife and I were constantly herassed by homeless people right outside of the hotel. 6. We were informed prior to our trip there would be construction. Oh man is there. Again, a parking nightmare. No water or AC our last night. They should really offer a re-do for anyone that wasted their hard earned money during the time of our stay once this property is a comparison to surrounding hotels and condos. Honestly, The list goes on and on. I will say the staff was super friendly and helpful! Not their fault this properly is falling apart.

A little dated but otherwise everything was fine. Staff are very friendly and attentive. On site security are comforting although a little over zealous regarding gym usage. Both gym and pool were excellent facilities albeit a bit small. Parking next door is very handy if you have/hire a car although it is pricey - but then so is Hawaii.

My third time staying at Aston Waikiki Sunset. The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk to Waikiki Beach. The staff were friendly and helpful in resolving any issues you asked. Room is clean, equipped with a full kitchen and has the balcony. Each floor has coin-operated washer/dryer. You can purchase parking tickets at the machine in the lobby for $35 per day. The hotel facilities and room furniture are somewhat outdated. Anyway, it's a good choice when you're on vacation in Honolulu.

The property itself has seen better days, and needs upgrades. But the views are priceless. I stayed at the 31st floor with Mountain view. This building is in a high topographic point, making it taller than the buildings between itself and Manoa Valley, and providing an unobstructed view of the valley. Watching sunrise and sunset from the balcony was breathtaking. The unit I stayed was vintage and clean, the kitchen was equipped with the necessary pots and pans for cooking, and sets of dishes for 6 people. Housekeeping came every 3 days and could be scheduled if needed sooner. Each floor has a laundry room and trash shoot. The laundry machines are $1.75 each and use either coins or an app. The parking garage attacked to the building is paid separate ($25/day). The bottom 3 floors get filled quite fast and the upper 2 floors are always empty. Since clearance is tight in the garage, I preferred to park at the upper levels that were always empty. Plus, I was always able to secure a space close to the elevators.

We were on the 35th floor had a nice view. Carpet hasn’t been replaced since 1995 was a white carpet was now black when entering the room noticed food in the carpet. Urine on the toilet seat. Showerhead was broke. Shower curtain was broke. TV didn’t work after turn down service still food in the carpet never got to vacuum it up I guess too difficult Rude reception would not stay if I got paid to do so had to leave after the third day went and stayed at the Hilton way better stay.

We stayed for 6 nights in this great hotel on Waikiki Beach. The apartment was spotless, best view possible, spacious, amazing balcony, laundry on each floor. The parking was near the hotel, expensive but those are the prices on waikiki beach. 210$ for 6 days in and out privilegies. The only part I would mention was the staff at the hotel, specially reception: not the friendliest I have ever seen.. they seemed annoyed all the time.

The property is very old and rundown. We had to move rooms a couple times due to cockroach and water leak issue. The hotel did move us to room with a wonderful ocean view but the inconvenience was almost not worth it. It was a very well priced for the size (full kitchen) and location but definitely not worth the hassle of moving and random things happening like low water pressure, ac turning off by itself in the middle of the night, dirty blankets, etc. If you are on a budget it may be ok but you want a relaxing vacation think twice.

I'll start with the good. The property is in a great location. Walking to the beach, restaurants, and shipping was very easy. Now the bad. The rooms need updated. Our room wasn't that clean. There was leftover cereal on the floor in the kitchen and hair in the bathroom and floors. The worse part is when you shower the water literally runs out. I was only in the shower maybe 5 mins and the water completely turned off. I couldn't rinse my hair. Took a good 30mins to an hour for water to come out of the faucet again. Shower is also very very small.

Friendly staff. However, we were disappointed that the wifi service was not working in our room. When we reported this to the front desk, we were told that there were problems with the internet in some rooms and they were trying to remedy the situation. The view was incredible beautiful Mountain View! But the rooms need major remodel and upgrades. Everything was so so old. Kitchen is very old. Mattresses were old. But all the sheets were very clean, I liked that. And rooms are very big and spacious. Location is close to the beach And Zoo. Furniture was ok.

This was our second time staying at the Aston Waikiki Sunset. Our first time was great. This time we had my handicapped mother. We called the hotel beforehand to request a toilet seat extender and a shower chair. It took one and a half days for them to bring these items after I called housekeeping and the front desk repeatedly. They seemed not to care. We will not be staying here again.

To our surprise, when we arrived there was no electricity or AC available in the room. It was out for about 3 hours the first day, and 3-4 hours the second day from 8am-12:30pm. The AC was also off the final day we checked out, so each day there was an outage of some sorts (total of 3 nights stay). The elevators were also down periodically, so once we had to wait 10 minutes for an elevator. There was NO notice in advance for this and no form of compensation, they only told us when we arrived to check in. The room itself was set up as expected, however, we found some garbage scraps on one of the nightstands beside the bed, and one of the drawers was unable to be closed and was taking up space in the room. The conditioner and body wash were both empty upon arrival. There were also many stains on the fridge and the fridge itself was very sticky and difficult to open. In general the room itself was also very dusty, and never once cleaned or housekept. Housekeeping only comes every 3 days here. One positive I will give is the view was quite nice from the balcony.

The place is a bit dated but did the job..,everything you need is within 5 minutes. Bars, restaurants, beach and shopping all close by. The quality of the apartment is reflected in the price but it does the job for us and we will stay at Waikīkī Sunset again.

This is our second stay at the sunset and we will definitely stay again. 4/5 stars overall only because our room had a loud buzzing noise constantly. The pool is only in the sun during the morning hours too. Daily room cleaning would be ideal. All-in-all we have enjoyed staying here both times and recommend the sunset.

The hotel location is great!! Walking distance to the beach, stores and public transportation are a must for my travel and this hotel is spot on. The big plus for me is the kitchen. You save money from too much eating out by fixing your own food before your activities start!

We chose this hotel due to the kitchen facilities and proximity to Waikiki beach/bus line. You can get to Costco, Pearl Harbour, Bishop Museum, Diamond Head using the Oahu bus system without a transfer. As a hotel guest you get free admission to Bishop Museum and Honolulu Museum of Art.

Great amenities in the hotel room. Sofa bed can be uncomfortable but the sheets were clean. Parking is $25+tax per day or you can try your luck with metered parking along Ala Wai Blvd. Kitchen has basic cutlery and dinnerware and the grills by the pool are always ready. Perfect when you're missing a home cooked meal or just too tired to wait and spend the extra money to dine in. Do yourself and future guests a favor and open the door to the lanai while you cook or at least buy a can of febreeze. Walking distance to Kuhio Beach, the zoo, and at least 2 ABC stores for your needs.

We loved that our room had a full kitchen. We went to the grocery store and cooked all of our meals and saved so much money that way. The location is perfect, we were able to walk to the beach, stores, and the Honolulu zoo. Staff was friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

This Aparthotel is very practical for families and is ideally located. On the 37th floor, we experienced no street noise whatsoever. However, the property is showing its age: the amenities are dated and the windows let air through, which created noise on windy days. Additionally, the staff overall was not very welcoming. This review is regarding room 3803 which is a Mountain View penthouse. It was exactly as pictured, very clean, a little dated but I prefer carpet and some of those more comfortable finishes. I was pleasantly surprised to find the entire suite filled with natural light, sun streaming through in the morning. Plenty of space and storage for suit cases and beach gear. The rest of the property is nothing special but it provides a peaceful oasis in the chaos. It is a bit of a walk to central waikiki but it's close to the beech. I would definitely stay again. I recommend this for a larger group versus cramming into a more centrally located hotel room.
