A beautiful and well appointed house in a perfect location on Lake Superior. Both sunrise and sunset were picture perfect and access to the lake was easy and mesmerizing. The bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen had everything we needed for a perfect holiday stay. It was a treat to stay at the Pump House!

We stayed at Carin's property with our two small children (ages 2 and 5) for a few days in early January to enjoy winter prior to school starting back up. As a young family, we often stay in VRBOs over hotels, as having space and a kitchen are key. We've been very lucky with the rentals we've selected, but this was far and away the most stunning and well-equipped space we have ever stayed in. There was not a hair nor speck of dust to be found--the property was incredibly clean. Everything felt new, which was pure luxury. Lovely linens, clean furnishings, gorgeous decor. We were also shocked by how seamlessly everything worked--fireplaces, TVs, appliances--all top-notch and intuitive. Carin also provided everything we needed and more for our stay--lovely toiletries, games/puzzles, cleaning supplies, etc. The property was also conveniently located to everything. We ventured to the zoo, train museum, downtown, state parks...nothing more than a 20 minute drive. It was also nice to have a grocery less than 2 minutes away by car. Looking out over a cold lake Superior every morning was just the relaxing start to the new year we needed. While we loved our cozy winter stay, we can't wait to come back in the warmer months and take advantage of the deck and fire pit! Thank you, Carin, for a fabulous time in Duluth!

Gorgeous historic home! Very clean and modern, but still had beautiful historic charm. Loved eating on the terrace while watching the boats pass by, kayaking out to watch the sunrise, and relaxing by the camp fire at night. What a treat to stay in this special home on Superior!

We love to get away right before the holiday, escape the madness. This rental was perfect! Comfortable, clean, welcoming, great location. All the comforts needed for a quick getaway. We had plenty of room to spread out and relax. We enjoyed the scenery and views. You can’t beat watching the shore all day long, especially during shipping season. We loved watching the ships come in and out. The weather was mild, so we also enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and evening walks to check out the holiday lights,

We already looked forward to our stay at the Pumphouse based on the location, pictures and reviews. But if anything, it exceeded our expectations. Inside, it is the perfect blend of classic elegance and modern luxury. We also spent much of our stay outside skipping rocks from the beach, kayaking or just enjoying the wraparound patio. It raised the bar for future vacation rentals.

This home is amazing! It's exactly as advertised and is the cleanest home we've ever rented. The amenities are higher end. The views are incredible. I would definitely recommend this home to others. A small item to take into consideration would be to add a small chair or bench in the entryway to aid in putting shoes on.

We retreated to Duluth to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary with our two boys. The Pumphouse did not disappoint! If possible, even more beautiful than pictured. LOVED the higher-end furnishings and design. (So curious to know where Carin got all her lighting and couches.) Plenty of space for us to hang together or enjoy some solitary quiet time. We mostly lucked out with the weather, so sunny coffees on the deck to the sound of the lake lapping against the shore was an enchanting idyll. No details were spared. Even the guestbook was a work of art. Now my husband's obsessed with the fridge. Our first visit, but we hope to get back soon!!

This was our 2nd visit to The Pumphouse. Carin, our host, was easy to work with and responded quickly when we had questions. The cottage is decorated beautifully and is very comfortable. It has high end appliances in the kitchen and all the serviceware and cookware you’d expect. Being right on the lake is amazing. Great agate and sea glass hunting. Can’t wait to go back.

Was a wonderful place to stay for us during Grandmas Marathon weekend. It was right on the course which allowed our family members easy access to cheer at mile 19. The property is beautiful and you can’t get any closer to Lake Superior. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep each night. Furnishings were beautiful. One of my favorites.

A quiet, cozy, winter getaway close to a yarn store! The Lakeside neighborhood has much to offer with it's shops and restaurants.

The house is stunning and in the perfect location close to all Duluth has to offer. The check-in process was simple and the host was easy to contact Ruth questions.

Gorgeous house. A great place to relax and enjoy spectacular Lake Superior. We enjoyed being able to spend the time in Duluth but also close enough to explore the North Shore.

Our 2nd stat at the Pumphouse. It is a gorgeous home. Very unique with is almost hanging over the water. A short walk to Lester Park and Boynton Beach.

This was our second visit and was just as relaxing as our first time there. The house is very well appointed. The views of Lake Superior are spectacular and being able to hear the water on the shore all night long makes for excellent sleeping. We've visited Duluth many times and Pumphouse has become our favorite place to stay. We look forward to our next visit.

We enjoyed everything about our stay. We only left the home during our three night stay to walk three blocks to the grocery store. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed to cook. We didn’t want to leave the beautiful home.

We stayed for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Great location and a wonderful house. They had everything we needed; every time we thought "wonder if they have...." we found it. We will be back.

Even better than we expected. Incredible home with unmatched lake views from every room. We didn’t want to leave. Clean, comfortable with small but well appointed kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

This is our fourth extended stay at this property. We love it so much that we canceled a long planned trip to Orlando in favor of beautiful views and ultimate luxury. It’s like being on a luxury yacht without the seasickness! We love to be able to cook, relax, and play cards. It was a wonderful, grown-up vacation!

I surprised my husband with a trip to Duluth for our anniversary. He thought we were staying in a hotel, but I knew he wanted to be close to the water and I was lucky enough to find this beautiful home right on Lake Superior. We really enjoyed how peaceful and relaxing the home was and the beautiful views from every window facing the lake. My husband loved the house and location so much that we opted to dine in for breakfast and order take-out for supper just so we could enjoy the quiet peaceful setting and take in the views. I was hesitant to book this property in November next to the lake, but we couldn't have been happier with the home, the location and our trip to Duluth. The home was located out of the busy downtown Duluth area, but still within driving distance of many great local attractions. We took in the lights at Bentleyville and would highly recommend the light tour to anyone young and old. While visiting Duluth, a trip up the north shore scenic drive is a must. If you venture past Two Harbors be sure to stop in at the Rustic Inn Cafe for a piece of pie, they have delicious pies! We knew Gooseberry Falls State Park was beautiful in the summer, but it's just as beautiful when the water is starting to freeze as the temps begin to drop in late November, early December. This is definitely an anniversary trip that we will both remember for years to come and one that will be hard to top.
