my husband and I came for our 1 year anniversary and it was perfect! Quiet, cozy and perfect! Views were amazing! Feeding the animals was a lot of fun! Ed was a great host! We will be coming back!

We had the best time here! Drove here from Chicago for a weekend and had so much fun touring the property & riding horses. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The property manager Denise & her father Ed were so awesome and communicative, we had a great time. Nearby there are some fun parks to go to & we drove to Iowa and went hiking. There’s also small bars and restaurants in the area but we weren’t a huge fan of those options, so we had brought food & there are a few kitchen appliances that you can use which is so helpful. It was such a fun & relaxing time & if I ever get the chance to come back, I will!

This rental was a nice place to stay with the jetted tub, smart TV, and a lot of space to roam outdoors. We visited with Ed and he took us around in the ATV. It was a nice serene place with animals to visit with.

Did an upgrade to cowboy retreat and it was well worth it. The cabin was beautiful and roomy and comfortable. S’mores at the fire pit were so good. Ed was a great host. Showed us around and made us feel we never wanted to leave. Could have stayed there forever

We found Cody’s ranch to be nestled in a quiet countryside . Our stay was everything we needed. We attended the Prairie Dog Bluesfest and explored the area on our travels there. Ed was a super host and gave us great tips about the area. Cooking outside was an awesome experience and gave us a feeling for the outdoors. Thank you for enhancing our experience of the Prairie du Chien area.

This get-away was just what the doctor ordered. The studio was spacious, lovely and had a small but efficient galley kitchen, which was perfect for us since we cooked our meals there and on the outdoor grill. Farmer/rancher Ed was very accommodating and entertaining. He took my father, who is almost 100, for a tour of the farm, to see the animals and beautiful scenery on the land. My dad loved it; it was the highlight of the trip. We are dog lovers and enjoyed the company of Ed's Chesapeake retrievers. During the toured along the Mississippi River, saw charming towns and serene riverscapes.

We absolutely loved this property! Cody was so welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. I was a bit apprehensive at first that the listing is technically connected to his house but there was no reason to be uncomfortable at all. He was willing to be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted. We took a hike or two on the path by the cabin, rode Hot Rod the horse a little bit, cooked all our meals on the grill, and were able to relax in the massive bathtub each night. Truly the perfect getaway from the city life in Chicago. A wonderful experience and we plan on coming back in the future! Thanks for everything! :)

Our stay was more than we hoped for. We relaxed in the studio, read, watched TV, used the amazing tub. We also took full advantage of Cowboy Cody’s offer to take us on an ATV ride, a tour of the property, horse riding lessons, and shooting. He treated us like family, and we are so grateful for his generosity. Our weekend was lovely, and his property is beautiful.

Loved the ranch property! Stay was great! We were greeted by Mr. Cody and his three sweet dogs. They made our stay very enjoyable with horseback lesson, gun shooting and an ATV ride. Fed hot rod the horse apples by hand. Most gentle horse I’ve ever been with. Super fun time.

Thank you Ed for being a great host, we appreciated the things you did for us to make our stay memorable, it was extra special for Dann especially to be able to sit up on horseback again after losing his leg a few years ago, he was very thankful that you took the time to make that happen! Absolutely beautiful, quiet farm location. Lodgings are scrupulously clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was bigger than my bedroom! Lovely host gave us a quick tour of the property, and we met a 2-week old filly. We will stay here again!

I wish they would have said on the listing that the room you are staying in has a door that will connect right to the living quarters of the gentleman who lives there. He's very nice and very friendly.. but i was not expecting to be hearing him and his dogs all night... including dogs barking at 6 am. Sure it's a working farm... but the noises seem to be coming from the room next to you.. not the farm working. Also, he explained how the heat works, but good luck... it was cold outside and we turned up the heater... and it did nothing. Very cold throughout the night. Positives! Property is beautiful. The gentleman who owns it is very nice and friendly. Very helpful. The tub and shower are fantastic and if i knew he wouldn't be heading every time i coughed funny, i would have really enjoyed it. Overall 3/5. Thank you for the stay! The offer of the drive around the property on your side by side was very nice! Thank you so much!

The tub and shower are incredible, the view is lovely, and the kitchenette was great for two people cooking a handful of meals. Reliable wifi, a large tv with streaming channels, and a comfortable bed (studio apartment style in the same room as the kitchen and living room). You do share walls with the owner and the other suite is downstairs, so if you're sensitive to sounds/smells be aware. Very friendly owner.

This property was exactly what we were looking for. The natural beauty of the drive to and from was breathtaking. The suite we stayed in was very tranquil. We picked this place not fully reading the description so that was our fault, however the room was not at all sound proof, we could hear dogs barking until almost 11:30 at night and the room was attached directly to the living spaces of others. The room itself was very nice, but felt Like we were staying in a bedroom at our parents home. Just wish it was more secluded and private. We did not sleep well due to noises from others outside, dogs, and others on the other side of the wall. We ended up going home and not staying the second night. Again our fault for not reading more into it. Not at all secluded or for a couple getaway. More for a family getaway.

We took an extended weekend away for our anniversary. We were looking for something quiet and relaxing, and that is exactly what we got. From the moment we got there we felt extremely welcomed. Ed was the best host we have had at a VRBO yet! He was determined to make sure we took advantage of all he had to offer on the ranch! We will definitely be back, with friends this time!

Stayed for 2 nights and everything was exactly as described. The view is gorgeous and set far off the road for a very peaceful setting.The host, Ed, is super friendly and made us feel right at home! Will definitely stay again.

We had a marvelous time at Cody’s Ranch! It was beautiful. Very comfortable! Cute decor! Nice place! Our host was terrific! Enjoyed meeting him very much! The whole stay was just so much fun! Easy & close for our day trip to Prairie du Chien for extra adventures. Thank you! Can’t wait to return again in the future!

My wife and I were overdue for a vacation and this place (Cody's Ranch) was perfect!! Ed Cody is a fantastic, helpful and very accommodating host. It was a beautiful room with a view of the rolling hills. We trailered our motorcycle up there and toured the backroads. We also stopped at local historical sites and points of interest. Ask Ed about activities and attractions, he's a wealth of knowledge of the area. Our only regret is that we were only there for two full days. We're already looking forward to going back next year, going to stay longer this time! Thanks again Ed and Denise.

This get-away was just what the doctor ordered. The studio was spacious, lovely and had a small but efficient galley kitchen, which was perfect for us since we cooked our meals there and on the outdoor grill. Farmer/rancher Ed was very accommodating and entertaining. He took my father, who is almost 100, for a tour of the farm, to see the animals and beautiful scenery on the land. My dad loved it; it was the highlight of the trip. We are dog lovers and enjoyed the company of Ed's Chesapeake retrievers. During the toured along the Mississippi River, saw charming towns and serene riverscapes.

We absolutely loved this property! Cody was so welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. I was a bit apprehensive at first that the listing is technically connected to his house but there was no reason to be uncomfortable at all. He was willing to be as involved or uninvolved as we wanted. We took a hike or two on the path by the cabin, rode Hot Rod the horse a little bit, cooked all our meals on the grill, and were able to relax in the massive bathtub each night. Truly the perfect getaway from the city life in Chicago. A wonderful experience and we plan on coming back in the future! Thanks for everything! :)

We had the best time here! Drove here from Chicago for a weekend and had so much fun touring the property & riding horses. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The property manager Denise & her father Ed were so awesome and communicative, we had a great time. Nearby there are some fun parks to go to & we drove to Iowa and went hiking. There’s also small bars and restaurants in the area but we weren’t a huge fan of those options, so we had brought food & there are a few kitchen appliances that you can use which is so helpful. It was such a fun & relaxing time & if I ever get the chance to come back, I will!

We found Cody’s ranch to be nestled in a quiet countryside . Our stay was everything we needed. We attended the Prairie Dog Bluesfest and explored the area on our travels there. Ed was a super host and gave us great tips about the area. Cooking outside was an awesome experience and gave us a feeling for the outdoors. The tub and shower are incredible, the view is lovely, and the kitchenette was great for two people cooking a handful of meals. Reliable wifi, a large tv with streaming channels, and a comfortable bed (studio apartment style in the same room as the kitchen and living room). You do share walls with the owner and the other suite is downstairs, so if you're sensitive to sounds/smells be aware. Very friendly owner.

I had a relaxing retreat from civilization in the Wrangler Outlaw Suite at Cody's Ranch. The suite is beautifully designed, with large sleeping/living space and large bathroom, perfect for 1 or 2 people, or cozier for a couple more on the sleeper sofa. All ADA accessible. The main room has a vaulted wood ceiling, queen bed, and lots of comfy seating. I enjoyed the large bathroom with over-sized jet bathtub and large shower with 4 extra jets. The private deck with rocking chair was my favorite thing about the unit - view of sunset over rolling hills. The kitchen is not typical, but sufficient. Small counter with sink and air fryer/toaster oven combo. Upper shelves hold microwave, toaster, and small electric burner. The are sufficient pots and pans, dishes and eating/cooking utensils. If you want to cook, the best option is the outdoor side-by-side gas grill/griddle combo. I really enjoyed making eggs and pancakes on the griddle every morning, and grilling burgers for lunch or dinner. Ed lives on site and was available and very helpful.Lots of good walking/ATV trails on the property, and animals to see. Lots more nearby ATV trails. I plan to rent an ATV nearby next time! The Wrangler Outlaw Suite is the upper rental unit, and there is also a lower unit, which is designed to hold a lot more people. Thank you, Ed, for a great visit!
