What guests think
At Deer Brook Cottage, guests consistently highlight a very clean, spacious home in a quiet country setting, with a large yard, enjoyable outdoor spaces like the fire pit and deck, and generally responsive hosting.
Guests describe the beds as comfortable and the layout practical for groups and pets. The location feels rural yet is only a few minutes from Wilmington, venues like the Roberts Centre, trails, and major routes between Columbus and Cincinnati. Areas to improve include more towels and paper supplies, clearer checkout info, and in isolated cases a musty pet odor, a missing stair railing, or booking and cancellation mishaps. Overall, expect a comfortable, low-key, pet friendly stay.

Really cute house and great lay out! Loved the side patio. We spend our mornings out there listening to the birds.

Beautiful and clean cottage. Suggestions: Need full length mirror somewhere inside and also a mirror in each bedroom. Need more toilet paper (we ran out and had to buy more!) Need umbrella on back deck for shade and more bath towels and instructions for checkout. Host was kind and brought us firewood last night and turned on outside lights.

Deer Brook Cottage was home away from home. The living space is large and airy. The kitchen is modern and sleek. The back deck is lovely. The fireflies were out each night at dusk. Our dogs loved the large yard. The owner was friendly, responsive and kind when we had a problem. The water was perfect and all the faucets, the dishwasher, washer, coffee maker worked well. We hope to come back to this sweet spot in southern Ohio!

House was clean, comfy, and quiet. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights for the Renaissance Festival. The house had kitchen basics and pretty much everything you'll need. The dogs enjoyed the large backyard. Would stay again.

Great space and cleaniliess. Easily located very close to town but still "in the country." Big yard made it easy to play with the dog. Comfy beds, slept great after spending the day hiking. Charming decorations.

Loved the area. Nice yard.Bed was comfortable.Had to buy towels as there wasn't enough for all of us.One put off was the smell. There is a different air freshener in each room trying to hide the musty animal smells. It only made it worse. We did not get a response for check out until the day after we had checked out. It was a cause for concern.

This was a wonderful property. It has an out in the country feel but, you are just 6 minutes from town. It is very clean, well appointed, bigger than it looks from the outside and the beds were very comfortable. There was even a beautiful bird nesting in the window box with 5 tiny eggs that hatched during our stay. It was perfect. We cant wait to come back.

This Host double booked, cancelled on us less than 24 hours before, offered us a booking at his more expensive property for an upcharge of course. He first blamed VRBO for the mistake and then implied it was our fault somehow. It was impossible to find another vrbo property that quickly and almost impossible to find anyplace to stay that weekend. BEWARE. he is shady and rude.

I had to find lodging last minute because vrbo booked a property that owner said was not available, and charged me. I had to argue with owner who thought I was scamming him. You guys will never get business from me and I’ll take every opportunity to tell others. You were unavailable for assistance and when I finally got hold of owner they were rude and told me to contact vrbo.
