What guests think

At Courtyard by Marriott Northport, travellers highlight very clean, modern rooms and consistently friendly, efficient service, with many appreciating convenient access to the University of Alabama and downtown Tuscaloosa as well as an on-site bistro/bar when available.

Common drawbacks include no complimentary breakfast and occasional closures or limited stock at the bar or coffee outlet. Some guests mentioned flat pillows, intermittent noise from upstairs or a nearby lot, and a few isolated maintenance or odor issues. Opinions on the surrounding area and walkability are mixed. It suits travelers comfortable with pay-as-you-go amenities rather than inclusive perks.

The water took 10 minutes to heat up for a shower. There were no amenities... water, coffee in the room. There was no Decaf in the lobby, only coffee and tea. Location was not great, but i did not feel unsafe. Staff was ok . On arrival the staff was super nice, and helpful. Later on, not so.

Booked this hotel because it was a Mariott and because they had a restaurant and bar. We arrived at night tired and hungry from driving all day. Upon check in I was told that the bar and restaurant were not operating due to lack of customers! This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, you cannot walk to a restaurant. I do not recommend this Marion due to location and lack of services.

I liked that it’s new and very clean . Upscale property but staff seemed to be very unsure of what time check out was and if there was a breakfast offered. Very dissapointed that there was no bfast served of any kind and there was a Starbucks in the location but no one on staff to serve or cashier to order from .

Terrible. This property looks brand new from the outside, but on the inside it’s just lipstick on a pig. Everytime we ran a hair dryer the power in the room would go out, the shower handle fell off, and the toilet was only loosely attached to the floor. We asked for a different room multiple times but they kept telling us the problem was fixed. It wasn’t. There was no complimentary breakfast or even coffee. The bar was literally out of half the beer they offered and all whiskey and bourbon. One of the ladies at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. She was the only bright spot.

I absolutely loved staying at this hotel. Everyone was very nice upon checking in and out. My room was very clean, and I love the way it was setup with a couch and ottoman so you could get comfortable and watch tv or relax without having to sit on the bed. Hotel is in a great location being next to the highway that takes you downtown or to the university. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel and room were newer condition, clean and very accessible to downtown Tuscaloosa. Staff was very friendly, and the entry / waiting area was very nice. The pillows were flat and not comfortable. The hotel is in an area that you would not expect (rough neighborhood) with a lot next door that had individuals blaring their loud bass music into the night. You can not hear the people next to your room, but you can hear when people stomp up stairs. Overall not a bad place to get some sleep and a nice shower.
