Travellers consistently praise Plaka Arch Suites for its central Plaka location near the Acropolis, friendly above-and-beyond hosts, and clean, often spacious rooms with balconies, making it an easy base for sightseeing and short city breaks.
Several reviews note unconventional check in via the gelato shop or a sister property and limited on site reception, occasional street noise, difficult parking, and that rooftop areas are only included with specific rooms. Breakfast draws frequent compliments for quality and cooked-to-order options, though a few guests found choices limited or items depleted late in service. Expect a compact boutique base suited to exploring on foot.

Facilities
Facilities are limited for a boutique property, but select suites include private rooftop terraces with hot tubs and excellent views. Driving and parking in the area are challenging, and there is no shared rooftop for all guests.

We stayed in the room with the private rooftop hot tub and terrace. Awesome room and terrace with great views. The rooftop is only accessible from this room so it is totally private. It would be great if you had a group of people staying at he hotel so you could all use it. Room was super clean and large. Bathroom actually had two showers. Location is great, super close to everything with the Acropolis, shopping and dining right outside your door. You definitely don’t want or need a car. The only downside is we only stayed here one night. I wish we would have had more days to enjoy the terrace.

The building is older and you could not flush the toilet paper into toilet, but had to toss in a very small garbage can provided. The picture of the rooftop view w/seating and tables were not accessible to all the hotel rooms. Access was only allowed from one of the rooms. I found that to be deceitful. Overall, The location and the breakfast buffet was great. The room was spacious and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Reception is the gelato shop. Very clean, big and remodeled room. Beautiful neighborhood with restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff, good breakfast with hot order to made omelets. The only thing is there is no access to rooftop or hot tub unless you book the top floor.

The room with the roof top deck and hot tub is fabulous. Beautiful views. Location is walking distance to everything. Don't try to drive and park here. Super narrow streets and lots of pedestrians. Check in is a little weird - you check in at the gelato shop downstairs, but otherwise great stay. Thanks!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Plaka Arch Suites! From the moment we arrived, the host, Mr. Thanos was amazing — so friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. Communication was top-notch the entire time, and he even helped us organize a ride to the cruise port on a day when there was a national strike. He also facilitated the return of a very sentimental item that we had left at the hotel. Truly an exceptional host that went above and beyond! The accommodation was large, spotless, and super comfortable, with all the little extras like toiletries in case you forgot something. Breakfast was great too — lots of fresh and tasty options to choose from. The location couldn’t have been better — walking distance to the Acropolis and historic sites, close to great restaurants, shopping, and the Hop On/Off buses. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Athens. Highly recommend the Plaka area and this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city!

Plaka Arch Suites is a great property in the middle of Plaka, walking distance to practically everything. The Acropolis, restaurants, Metro all just a short walk away. Very easy to get to from the airport using the Metro. So convenient. The room was very clean, and had a refrigerator, Nespresso maker, water kettle, and nice sized bathroom with shower. We also had a balcony, which I highly recommend booking . The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Checked us in quickly and we were off to dinner. Breakfast in the morning was also very good, fresh, and tons of choices. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in Athens.

The rooms were excellent - large, bright, nice features, very good bathrooms - and excellent value for money, although we were travelling very off peak. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I only have two small issues - one is that we had to check in at the hotel across the road (no problem with that) which was very hard to find as there was no sign and the street numbers aren't clear. A clearer name sign on the door would be good. The other thing - and there is nothing the hotel's owners can do about it, so it's just a warning for other guests - is that the noise from the road was pretty full-on, even quite late into the night and early morning. The hotel has lovely period windows and shutters, but they're not good for soundproofing so if you're a light sleeper it might not be for you.

We stayed in the suite with the roof top and hot tub. It was fine - not a luxury place you would bring other people to see. The place is worn with "older updates" that appear to have been performed by a novice..."cloppy" plank flooring, entry level tile and fixtures that were poorly installed. Shower head/bar is loose, light fixtures are loose, light switches behind the TV, missing towel bars and crooked towel bars, mold on the ceiling (because the bathroom is not vented, except by a window). The service is great, communication is great. Not a luxury suite.

Great location. It's a beautiful old building so the windows are old as well, which is fine. Only a mention in case someone wants a more sound proof room. Still wouldn't have changed hotels. Definitely worth staying. The view and closeness to the Acropolis ,Hadrians gate, the temple of zeus, as well as shops and dining. The staff responded quickly if i had questions and were very friendly. I would definitely recommend.

The room was nicely renovated and very quiet at night. The location was close to all the sites, shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Plaka Arch Suites! From the moment we arrived, the host, Mr. Thanos was amazing — so friendly, helpful, and genuinely kind. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Plaka Arch Suites. The attention to detail and staff friendliness were superb. The hotel was in a fantastic location with stunning views of Acropolis from our private terrace with hot tub. Breakfast was amazing and cooked to order. Thanos, the hotel manager, was extremely accommodating and let us check in earlier. He also arranged transportation back to airport. We will only stay at Plaka Arch Suites if ever back in Athens. The owner/manager was wonderful and super helpful. There is a gelato shop connected to the hotel which was a nice plus. Would absolutely recommend staying here!

This hotel was wonderfully located. It was a short walk to most of the famous historical sites. Shopping and restaurants were minutes away making it an ideal experience. The hotel having a Gelato shop downstairs put it over the top.

You really can't beat this hotel if you are looking for something in the heart of Athens. Starting with the staff and especially our host Fanis, he and the entire staff were amazing! Fanis went out of his way to welcome us and help us with everything we needed. The location of the hotel is in the heart of the Plaka district and literally steps away from everything. You can't find a better location.

A gem of a small hotel in a fantastic location within 2 mins walk of the Acropolis. Staff were extremely helpful. We booked 2 balcony rooms and they were really lovely. Very comfy bed, bathroom was immaculate with an enormous walk-in shower. They also supply every amenity from bathrobes to toothbrush kits. Mini bar was exceptionally reasonable (1.50 euros for a can of Fanta). Finally the breakfast was fantastic. I would 100% stay here again when visiting Athens.

The location of this property was great, close to the acropolis, shopping, and restaurants. The room was very clean and included lots of little extras like bottled waters, a travel toothbrush, etc. The breakfast in the morning could use some attention… it runs from 7:30am to 10:30 and when we attended it near 10am many of the items had spoiled but were still out. It wasn’t a big deal to us and we just ate the fresh fruit and went in with our day. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderful little hotel located in a perfect area, within walking distance to the Acropolis and other historical sites, museums, shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic and set in a lovely, unique, intimate covered terrace area and included an assortment of fresh pastries and fruit, but also delicious menu items cooked fresh. The hosts of the property are warm and accommodating. We were allowed to drop off luggage prior to check in, and upon check in, was greeted and escorted to our room, and also provided a detailed map of the Plaka area and personal recommendations of the top spots to visit. The hosts were also very quick to respond to all messages prior to our visit. I wish we could have stayed longer than one night!!

Such a fantastic location for touring Athens in a traditional but well maintained building. We could walk everywhere we needed and dining options were plentiful in the Plaka area. The hotel itself was great. There were lots of details that made it a great choice - secure location, ice cream shop downstairs was a hit with my daughter, complimentary breakfast, and water, as well as robes and bathroom supplies all provided. Highly recommend this hotel!
