We went to Abilene for a college visit and stayed at the Doubletree. It was in great condition. The only downside would be the parking. You have to park behind the building and walk around to front to access the lobby. It would be great to have a hotel entrance where the parking lot is located. Other than that, our stay was excellent!

Beautiful hotel! Great gym, friendly staff, beautiful pool, and beautiful rooms! We will definitely be staying here again in the future. The only negative which really wasn’t that big of a deal but they said the pool was heated and it was ice cold. I would love to see it heated all the time but not sure the cost on something like that.

Very nice property. If you have business or activity in downtown Abilene it is perfect. Staff was very cordial. They do charge for parking which seemed a little extravagant given the area and it wasn’t protected or covered. That is really my only complaint. A couple of nice restaurants are an easy walk away. Would definitely stay here again.

Hopefully you aren't bringing a lot of luggage. Two gentleman at the valet stand during arrival and departure. They do not open or close doors, did not get luggage, offer to help with the luggage and had to ask for a valet cart. They told me they were not available. Charge $25 to park your car in an open lot directly across the street. Staff was not friendly or overly professional- but facility was clean and felt "safe". Need to polish up the customer service.

When we can catch a good deal here, this is our favorite and go to hotel when visiting our son at ACU. It’s clean, comfortable, beautiful, and has a fabulous pool and gym. The staff is wonderful too!

New, nice and modern hotel. Nice location in Downtown Abilene. Good restaurants and trendy shops nearby. Unfortunately, the hotel gets a minus from us for cleaning. There were dirty sheets on the bed, something sticky on the bedside table and an unwashed sink and bathtub in the bathroom.

Housekeeping efficiency wasn't great. On my 1st day I arrived back to my room at 5:30 pm and it was not yet serviced, although when I left the room at 8:30 am, housekeepers were already servicing rooms on the floor. I had to grab one of them to get the room made-up. On the 2nd day, the same but not as severe. I came back at 2:30 pm but one of the housekeepers kindly made-up my room upon request. For the price of this hotel room I expected timelier housekeeping. Breakfast was not complimentary; the buffet was $20 each day and the food quality and service was so-so. However, the dinner special on my first night was reasonably priced with great quality and service. If you're on an expense account then no worries. But for retired travelers on personal business for a 3 night stay, the costs add-up. I will say it was very quiet, clean and adjacent parking was included in the rate (which I definitely appreciated). The central downtown location is good - that's why I stayed here. Wi-fi was free if you joined Hilton Honors (I did). Staff were friendly too. There were a lot of customers at check-in, but the front desk got them through pretty quick; I maybe waited 5 minutes or so. All in all, I would stay here again, but I'd skip breakfast. I'd also be proactive in requesting housekeeping earlier.

I'm so tired of motion activated thermostats. My sleep is constantly disrupted by getting too hot. This particular hotel's bathroom door was extremely hard to open from the inside. An elderly person would have a very difficult time opening it. Couldn't find ice on my floor. 1 elevator out, long waits to go up or down.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. I’m very observant when I stay at hotels and the only thing I have to complain about is that our door to the room didn’t shut all of the way unless we firmly pulled/pushed on it. Everything else was absolutely perfect.

The hotel itself looks amazing. Very elegant. The restaurants inside are fabulous. The rooms look great. However, the room we were in had a sliding door to the bathroom that came completely off the track. We were moved to a different room because they could not fix it. The temperature in the room is set at 72. If you try to put it down when it is hot outside, it will not get any cooler until someone is in the room. It is on a sensor. When we were asleep, the air would not come on. Very uncomfortable. We woke up very warm in the middle of the night. It was not worth the price for what we had to put up with.

Stayed at the DoubleTree in downtown Abilene and had a great experience. The hotel is modern, clean, and in a perfect location for walking to restaurants and downtown spots. We enjoyed our 4-night stay while in Abilene for our daughter’s wedding. As former residents of Abilene, we are thrilled to see this new upscale option for lodging. The location is within easy walking distance to the restaurants, shops, and museums of downtown. The facility is pristine and comfortable. Our only complaint is that the guest parking lot is not very convenient to the hotel entrances.

Excellent place to stay. All staff were friendly and helpful. Bar and restaurant are great. Little market store in lobby with self check out is convenient and has big variety of snacks and drink, only down side is it is a bit pricey. $9.00 for a large bottle of water is little much !
