The owner/host was fantastic! It no longer has the bar option but the space is extremely cool to see historical fact items and plenty of separate seating areas for groups, including a balcony. Free snacks, and drinks and coffee in public areas were nice touches. Walkable bar and grill Was decent. We were on motorcycles and the rooms were a good size and very clean. We would definitely stay there again

This is a very unique place to stay--genuine restoration of a 1948 hotel with modern conveniences. Bed was comfortable and our room had ample space, good cooling, convenient bathroom facility. The entire hotel is a step into what it might have felt to stay there in 1948--except more comfortable furnishings, I would guess. This is not the hotel for those who are looking to be spoiled by the modern world amenities (although they did have spa services that could be scheduled). It's the place for those who appreciate history without all the inconveniences often associated with it. My only negative was that even though a smoke free facility, I could still detect an odor of aged tobacco-- most likely from those historical smokers of pipes from the past that sometimes attaches itself to older buildings. We enjoyed our stay and are glad to have experienced it.

The Hootie Creek Guest was really amazing, and we had such a great experience for our one-night stay. We stayed in the 2-bedroom Jr suite, which was really large and so convenient for us 2 couples. Our weekend getaway was very last-minute decision, since the weather was going to be gorgeous for an end of year motorcycle trip and to see the fall colors. The ENTIRE place has so much history. Alan was so courteous checking us in and had given us a nice tour and little history for the guest house prior to bringing us to our room. There is a nice community refrigerator that was available to all the guests to use. This came in handy and was a nice touch. The coffee bar on the upstairs has such a nice variety to offer the guests, along with complimentary soda, snacks, water and even sunny D juice. We really enjoy sitting outside and taking advantage of the upper deck area in the evening and also enjoying the morning sitting in the upper living room area prior to checking out. There was plenty of good eating and drinking facilities within walking distance too. We are always looking for nice and unique places to stay; this place is truly outstanding, and the owners did amazing job with the restoration and preserving the hotel. We HIGHLY recommend Hootie Creek Guest House

We loved this hotel! It was much more than we could have ever expected. The owner of the hotel was very nice & told us so much history. The rooms were so comfortable & made you feel at home. He had two sitting rooms with complimentary snacks, coffee, sodas, water & Sunny Delights. The hotel had a wonderful balcony & patio. We have decided this is now our go to place when we need a weekend away.

Rooms were clean and sweet. The hotel is order which is part of the charm. The floors creak, but once again, part of the charm. There are antiques through out. Fun to look at them and read their stories. The staff was friendly and helpful with information on places to eat and directions. Definitely will be back when I'm in the area.

This property has the potential to be a gem, however, management's propensity to rent rooms to traveling work crews ruins the historic getaway feel. The workers were drinking and yelling in the downstairs common area until we asked management to intervene at 10pm. They then went to their rooms and continued to keep us awake until 1am with their loud music and talking as the walls are paper thin. At 6:30 the next morning, they congregated in the common area again before they left for work and were so loud my husband had to confront them. The sewage smell coming from our shower drain was unbearable. We attached one of our truck air freshners to the heating unit vent for some reprieve. We were expecting a quant, cozy historical getaway but instead felt like we interrupted Happy Hour at Motel 6.

This is a unique chance to stay in a historic building. Sadly, our stay was not pleasant. First, there was considerable noise that made it hard to sleep. Apparently our room shared a wall with an apartment behind us that featured a couple fighting until late in the evening that included profane language and shouting. In addition, there was considerable road noise in spite of the fact the property is not on a main road. The second problem was considerable light intrusion in the room from the outside alley. The room itself was nice but would not stay here again.

This is a fun overnight in an area with several options for food/entertainment. I enjoyed the historic archives around the common space, the included snacks were thoughtful, and both staff members/owners that I met were very pleasant and helpful.

The owner was onsite to meet us he is very personable and community oriented. Knowledgeable about fun things to do in the area. This place is unique, refreshing, quiet will definitely be staying again. We loved all the historical artifact’s throughout including pictures of the remodeling done.

This is now added to our favorites list. The owner is doing an amazing job with this historic building. Our room was great and love the whole place. If you love staying in places that are unique you will love this one. It is an Inn and not a B&B but you have complimentary coffee and water that is available 24/7 and refrigerators you can use.
