What guests think
Travellers describe Viking Motel Montevideo as a clean, budget-friendly stop with friendly, accommodating staff, comfortable beds, and generally quiet stays, offering easy parking by the door and quick check-in for a simple, no-frills night's rest.
Rooms are older and compact but well maintained, with practical touches like microwaves and fridges, and some have been freshly updated with small decor details. Facilities are basic, with an outdoor patio that includes a grill and fire pit, pet-friendly policies, and on-site laundry. Some downsides noted are occasional noise from other guests, small or dated elements, strong fragrance plug-ins or noisy AC in a few rooms, and limited nearby dining choices. Expect a straightforward, budget-friendly stopover.

We stayed at the Clara City, Viking Inn. Room was clean and spacious with table and chairs. I enjoyed the welcome bag of goodies (water, popcorn, etc.) and loved the decor. Lobby had a Kcup coffee machine and there was an outside grill and firepit. We’d stay here again!

Pleasant practical room. Just the basics. Parking vehicle right outside room door sure makes it easy to move in and out. No elevators! Walmart just down the street for supplies.

I was advised by friends to look further out from my Granite Falls event. Good reviews steered me to the Viking Inn. Check in and out was smooth, the room clean and comfortable with hot water! The only weird negative was that my room was through the laundry room. However, the dryer gave me a place to put stuff on until I got through the door.

This locally owned motel is kept clean and up to date and is close to many food options. Parking right outside the room is super convenient. I’m very picky and I highly recommended staying here!

Wow, I absolutely loved this motel! Our room was adorably renovated mixing new looks while also keeping some of the original fixtures. It has been the cutest motel I have stayed at. The staff was welcoming and was helpful directing us to where we could park with a trailer. There was a nice grassy outdoor patio area with table, chairs, grill, fire pit, and beautiful flowers. There were also chairs on the side walks in front of rooms. The neighborhood was quiet as were other guests. We got a two fulls room it was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the shower was nice and had a super tall shower head which is good if you are quite tall. Check out was very simple.

The owner was very friendly and helpful. The staff was excellent and the room was very clean. It is in the process of being updated fresh paint, and the new paintings on the wall. The towels were above par for a well priced motel.

Everything about this motel is nicer than I expected. Its not fancy but for a small town motel it is one of the nicest I have stayed in. The bed was very comfortable, a large screen TV, the wifi was fast and reliable. There was a very comfortable reclining chair which is a nice touch. The water was always hot with great water pressure. And the towels were nice plushy towels, not like the cheap scratchy ones you get in most budget hotels. Also there is a mexican restaurant right next door if you don't want to drive. The staff was very friendly. My only complaint is that there was no coffee maker in the room. They had instant coffee, but that does not do it for me. If there was a coffee machine in the room I would have given the rating a 5.

The room was ok. It was very hot out and the little wall air conditioner was blowing hot air and the filter light was on. There were only 2 other cars there when I checked in. About 1030 pm it got very loud outside, people slamming doors, kids running around and hitting the walls. Looked outside and the parking lot was full and it seemed like they were going to have a big party. They had the music blaring. I called the owner and she said she could move me to another room, which wouldnt have made a difference since the motel is small and the big group pretty much took the whole thing up. Dropped the key off and moved to the hotel down the road. The owner was nice, but I needed to get some sleep and that wasnt going to happen. Just picked the wrong night to stay there I guess.

It was a decent one night stop over/sleeping room but much of the property and room were outdated. We had a plug in heater to warm up the room and the curtains didn;t completely cover the window. We did appreciate the courtesy bag with some treats, water and pen/notebook. Low cost!

The lady who manages the Viking Inn is such a doll! She let my fiancé and I check-in a couple hours early due to the below freezing temps. She also upgraded us to a king for no extra charge, which was such a lovely surprise! The place was super clean and so cute and homey. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but that’s the only thing I can really think of and can’t complain at all regardless because everything else was so excellent. There was even a little goody bag waiting for us inside!😊

Nice motel, clean rooms but small. No extras just a place to sleep. You can hear every movement in the adjoining rooms, not quiet but I think someone had a family get together, they all knew each other and was a bit loud.

It was clean, quiet, and had easy parking. It's also close to a Walmart and a restaurant. It's actually called Motel Viking (or at least that's what the sign says), and the address in Expedia was wrong. The GPS took us to a random area. Thankfully we figured it out pretty quickly based on pictures. Despite the little snafu we still had a good experience with our hotel stay.

Great place to stay. Especially for the price. I just made my own food so i wasnt worried about breakfast or anything. There is a mexican restaurant next door you can walk to. And the internet was good for all the stuff i had too do and not bad for gaming a bit. Beds were comfortable and showers had good pressure. I extended my stay and they made sure we had everything we needed and asked if we needed any services.

And the internet was good for all the stuff i had too do and not bad for gaming a bit. Beds were comfortable and showers had good pressure. I extended my stay and they made sure we had everything we needed and asked if we needed any services.

Very nice room for a motel. New LVP floors, nice leather chair, bathroom tile looked nice and well done. They left a little goodie bag for me and the attendant was friendly and let me pet their cats

We were passing thru and needed to rest our head. This place definitely a good place for the night. Booked online checked in got the keys and in the room it was like a 2min check in fast and easy. There were not much food options in the area only fast food I saw were McDonalds.

Extremely clean and quiet. Nice touch with the night light in the bathroom! The gift bag was really cool too! My wife and I felt welcomed and appreciated. GREAT job!

This locally owned motel is kept clean and up to date and is close to many food options. Parking right outside the room is super convenient. I’m very picky and I highly recommended staying here!

Basic but comfortable rooms, lots of cats in the office which is a huge plus but they wouldn't let me steal said cats so that's kind of rude. Neat little goodie bags. Nice staff, overall a pleasant experience. Allowed me a refund when the job I had gone there to do in the area was cancelled.
