OYO Hotel Brownsville TN I-40

Great value for money! We were very impressed with the facilities.

Got to the property to be told my booking was supposedly canceled but there was nothing on my end through Expedia, and I had already paid with no refund either. The guy that the front desk said he had no rooms and my reservation was canceled and I should have my money back. But then I showed him it wasn’t canceled on my side.. he then proceeds to tell me he can show me one room he has and walks me to the room. It’s the exact room that I had booked, yet I was supposedly canceled.. the property only had this one room on the property that had a jacuzzi tub in the room.. he then says I could have this room but it would be $145 cash. I said why do I need to pay cash when this is the room I booked and I paid only $116 for it. He said 145 cash because my listing is canceled and their card machines and everything is apparently broke… I contacted Expedia to let them know what was going on and got my refund. Seeing as I was 5 hrs from home and all other hotels were actually booked I talked the guy down on the room and paid cash, but not until I made sure I got my refund from initial payment… the room was gross and dirty, exposed wires from lighting above the sink, the jacuzzi had the controls ripped out of it so it didn’t work. Their pool was now a concrete slab, two of the 3 lights in the room didn’t work. It reaked of cigarette smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Just awful.. place is super shady and just gross! Will never stay here again

Although the property was undergoing renovations, this pales in comparison to the benefits that I enjoyed during my stay. You see, I grew up in Ripley, and trips home are bittersweet because my parents have gone home to be with the LORD

Hotel too old...

The towels were stained, one of the workers used our toilet and left sketch marks. The entire place was under renovation, outside and inside which we did not learn until we pulled into parking lot. Will never return!!

Entire property under construction. Roof was partially missing, room was not clean, and bolt in door was stripped. Not at all worth the price!

The places advertising your hotel should have updated pictures, Mention Construction. Pool non existant as its been slabbed over with concrete? Also i selected and requested a non smoking room and the decorative blanket had burn holes... and an ash tray? Not All the lights work. Jacuzzi in room, some jets need fixing. Hair in the bed, and a sheet for a blanket... Small tv for a suite i was too tired to do a thorough lookthru. Only positive thing were the minor interaction with staff, they seemed nice. And the walls seemed pretty soundproof.

The room was quiet, clean, and beautifully furnished.

I paid hotels.com to stay at the OYO hotel here while traveling overnight. I got to the address and was told by the hotel that they had refranchised (New sign with America's Best Value Inn) and refused to accept the hotels.com purchase. It was 2am and I couldn't stay awke anymore. They charged me again, even more to stay maybe 6 hours in an old musty hotel room with dead bugs in the sink and a large live cockroach in the shower. It was so gross I slept in my jacket and left early that morning. Now hotels.com is saying the property needs to investigate before considering refunding me. What do they need to investigate? Hotels.com is advertising and accepting payment for a hotel that technically doesn't exist anymore and America's Best Value Inn is the one telling me to my face they won't accept the payment. Additinally, if Hotel.com is contacting them- they obviously have a business relationship. So who here is double charging? Almost a couple hundred to stay in this sh*!thole for 6 hours. This is bad business. Hotel.com used to be my go to- now you cant trust them. Also told I couldn’t submit prices etc in my review.

The room was not clean. The floor had not been swept. That was all baby bottle left there. The walls were filthy. It was disgusting. There were stains on the floor. They gave me a new room the same thing I didn’t say anything to the guy at the front desk, I just went to another hotel

The whole room was dirty with stains all over the walls. The bathroom was dirty and the shower was not clean. Hair and dust in the bed sheets will not stay again. For the price there are way better options.

I don't often leave reviews unless my experience is awesome or awful. The gentleman that checked me in was very nice, and the bed was comfortable, but that is all that was good about this 1 night stay. Room 105: No door lock to keep door from opening from the outside (The one that only allows the door to open a couple of inches) No TV remote. TV was just leaning against the wall and the on/off control was to plug and unplug it. No tissues in the room. Sink leaked badly. Felt the water splashing on my feet when I had the water running. Only 2 very thin pillows on a king size bed. Most hotels usually have 4. Cleanliness of bedding was questionable. And peeling paint and/ or wallpaper was bad. Don't stay here unless you just need to sleep really bad. I had never heard of this hotel chain, and I won't stay at another one!

This is a disgusting and dirty and filthy hotel

Terrible service, we stayed 3 nights and they gave us two bath towels , one hand towel and two wash rags for two people for 3 nights. No Kleenex . They did not clean the room or bring us anymore towels etc . We had no soap . Door has 1 inch gap along bottom ( no weather stripping- or door sweep) and the sides also , You can see outside and we had water from the rain come in the room and had to use one of our bath towels! The bathtub / shower was filthy and the floor was not mopped and the base of the toilet was filthy. The mirror over the sink was so dirty you couldn't see, we had to use a washrag and towel to clean it. The bathroom light over the shower had no globe and open socket ! The toilet seat did not fit the toilet as it was an elongated toilet with a round seat. Bulkhead above the sink was open and you could see the cement floor above and they had plastic bags plugging the holes. Every corner of the room had dirt , bugs and was awful. We had a king bed that had a queen top sheet that was too small as was the comforter. The manager, and two supposed cleaners and they clearly do not know how to clean and rude. After the first night we asked to move to different room if it was cleaner etc..they showed us the room next to the one we were in and it was just as bad as ours , so we didn't move. It was a horrible stay and will never go there again. Oh and our room smelled like pot ! Hotel is maybe a 1 star at best.

2 mismatched towels in the room. No wash rags. Dirty floors. Rusty light fixtures with missing knobs. Only reason I gave it a fair overall is because beds were comfortable

Decrepit and dirty. Stained sheets, sagging upholstery. My husband slept clothed on top of the bedding - to grossed out to use the bedding. Most outlets don't work. Light fixtures filthy and torn. Bathroom grout brown and cruddy. Note also that this hotel is no longer owned by OYO franchise and does not honor Hotels.com bookings! Had to pay again and then ask Hotels.com for a refund.

I was told i could get a different room because i was coming into early. Was not informed that I would have to pay extra for this. The front desk was training someone when i arrived. She informed me of the extra charge I paid it. They took my drivers license to make a copy and never returned it to me. I did not realuze this until i was getting ready to go get something to eat and inform the front desk that i had just killed several roaches. The gentleman at the front desk said he was sorry never once mentioned trying to comoensate me for this. But she added it to bill. I know this because when i looked at my booking site it was 10 dollars more. I paid this fee at the hotel. The room was not clean. Sheets had marking on them and there was hair on the floor. Once again I killed several roaches in the room was not compensated for this. There were no other rooms they could put me in for this inconvenience. Poor management unclean and unsanitary rooms. I will never stay at this establishment again. Nor will recommend it to anyone else. Im still having to pay for a room not suitable to sleep in. Would have went somewhere else but did not have the funds. Wish i had taken photos. Rm # 110

We just slept here, arrived late, left early. The young man behind the desk, Mohammad, was very accommodating, nice & friendly. The room is nice and big, long desk, love seat, vanity area, nice tub. However, there was an odor in the room. Most likely old cigarette smoke. Speaking of gross, there was 1 really gross thing. The fridge was a good size & was clean, but the little freezer area was YUCK. It looked like someone froze a coke and it busted. Probably just an over sight of the cleaning staff. Will definitely mention that upon check out. Also, the towels are very thin. All in all though, the room was very comfortable, the bed slept great and it was a pleasant stay.

Mohammad was very friendly and courteous. The room was clean but falling apart.

Customer service was great .. my room was clean. But there was a gap in the door where light was coming in. Commode needed cleaning inside and out. Walls need paint. There was dust all over the air conditioner vents. I wiped part of the down by the bathroom sink. Shower curtain needs to be changed. Also my room was suppose to be non-smoking. There was an ashtray with cigarette residue in it.

Door could not close. I felt really insecure. Room was clean Breakfast was stupid

Don’t always go for the cheapest hotel when traveling. The keycard wasn’t always working. Had to go back to the front desk multiple times. Very old & dirty hotel.

Cracks around the door

I arrived on location to check-in ~ Was told by property manager that my reservation had been canceled. I never received any kind of noticed that my reservation was canceled from hotels.com or anyone. My booking was still showing my reservation was still active on the app. I was supposed to pay upon arrival in the amt of $188 for 2 night stay. Instead the property manager stated my reservation had been canceled, but they could still accommodate me with another room, but i was charged $265 for the accommodation. The room was filthy! TV didnt work, and there were items left in shower. Broom and dusk pan was also left in room. Refrigerator not work..dusty furniture along with a film of some sort on windows and glass.

No longer Oyo, so did not honor my pre-payment. Gave me a number to call (no answer). Had to pay again and dispute the original charge. Lost my hotel.com discount. Facility needs quite a bit of love. Had cereal for breakfast but had to ask for milk.

Arrived with a copy of my confirmed reservation at approximately 7:00 to 7:30pm. Fully paid for at the time of our online reservation, which I had a copy with me. I was denied the room. I was told it was cancelled. NOT TRUE. My husband and I are of a certain age. We had just driven 550 miles that day. We just wanted a bed, before we completed our 1160 mile trip the next day.

Cancelled my reservation for "overbooking". I gave them 2nd chance and they did it again. They bump reservations for people coming to desk and paying cash for rooms.

Got to location and had no room for me. Had to go to another hotel

Not sure who to fault here, but I was horribly disappointed and while seeking recourse I was insulted, inconvenienced and disrespected almost to the point of tears 😭. As a disabled vet, I know my limits and make provisions for myself. After a taxing day, and an hour drive with young children accompanying me I arrive only to be told my booking cannot be honoured. The clerk said the place had been sold and was not OYO as listed on the website and building. Of course I called Hotels, who I booked through and got a rude man with a strong accent that was hard to understand. He spoke with the clerk and made attempts to verify but the calls never went through. My children were in the car in varied states of consciousness and I repeatedly checked on them 43min, the clerk came back and I was relieved- but he just hung up in my face. I called back and explained the situation again, was kept on hold over 20min and hung up on AGAIN after nasty language by the clerk. I am burning up and almost in tears and my children are upset and needing bathroom breaks. The clerk at the hotel that WAS OYO offered to book a room for me only if mine was cancelled through the site. Hotels.com refused to release me and I was so frustrated and started to twitch from my medical conditions. Of course I called them once again, and this staff person was appalled and sent me to an agent to transferred my booking to the hotel across the street and gave me $75 credit one key cash. I was so thankful

They acknowledged I had a confirmed reservation through Expedia, but when I arrived at 7:00 PM they said there were no rooms available and that my reservation had been canceled that morning because they “didn’t have any rooms” and that they couldn’t contact me because they don’t get contact info from Expedia. Terrible, terrible, terrible, didn’t even apologize - don’t trust- stay away from this place!!!

Convenient to the interstate downtown Brownsville.

I was suspecting the breakfast to be butter. It was not that great, and they did not have. Variety, it seems the bread was old and the and the orange shoes, it was not even cold.
