Hotel Kumiai Inn

What guests think

Across many reviews, Hotel Kumiai Inn is praised for very clean, modern spaces, comfortable rooms, friendly service, a well-liked on-site restaurant, and secure, ample parking, making it a dependable choice for stays in Tecate.

Common negatives include occasional nighttime noise, spotty or weak Wi-Fi, and limited in-room amenities such as no mini-fridge or coffee maker. Some guests note maintenance or policy issues, such as loud A/C, TV or phone troubles, strict pool or patio rules, or the rooftop bar being closed. There are also remarks about short staffing or brusque interactions, and the restaurant may close early or create confusion about included breakfast. Expect a clean, modern stay with ample parking, alongside a few comfort and noise trade-offs.

When I booked the stay, it showed this place to be vibrant with a top deck bar. When I arrived, staff told me that they had closed this bar over a year ago. There was nothing to do but stay in the room. Terrible and misleading advertisement.

I just wanted to talk about our stay here. I'm feeling really frustrated about it. The room we got is pretty bad - right by the street and the car noise is unbearable. The lighting is way too bright day and night, making sleep impossible. The noise from other rooms is overwhelming. On top of that, the internet isn't working at all! Can you believe it? And the sheets are freezing cold, the mattress feels awful. It's been a really terrible experience. The staff was not friendly.

I really like this hotel, I think its one of the best ones in Tecate if not the best one. I have stayed here multiple times and the location is perfect; However, I just find it very inconvenient that the rooms do not have a fridge and unless the restaurant is open there is no ice. Just something I would like the hotel to work on. Other than that its really good.

We needed a few things at night no answer when I called from my cell to the front because the phone in the room doesn’t work as well as most outlets and in the room didn’t work either. No mini fridge the tv remotes batteries don’t and work. For the price of $155 a night I was expecting more. Never again
