Stayed 1 night

***DO NOT GO!*** I have stayed at this lodge overnight once a year for the past 5 years on a long road trip I do with an antique car, it's located midway through the Adirondack mountains in the middle of nowhere. It's never been fancy but the rooms were clean, and last year they were supposedly fixing up the reception/dinning room (no food available, no one staying at reception). This year when I got there just before sundown the doors were locked and failed delivery notices were on the door. A note was left saying that the keys cards were on the outside of the assigned room...no rooms had any cards. I called both numbers they had left to reach someone if needed, one I could hear ringing from the outside of the locked offices before it simply cut off and the other had an AI anwering service where I was only able to leave a message. After several massages and 45 minutes of wondering what to do next, a property manager drove up. She did manage to set me up in a made up room, but they did not stay on the property overnight and everything was locked up once more when I left at 9: 00 the next morning ( a morning breakfast was supposed to be included). They had mentioned the night before that the lodge had been sold to new owners two days before my arrival and they were under the impression all reservations had been canceled. I showed her the automated email I had received just that day telling my room number and front desk hours.

Stayed 2 nights

The room was very clean. There was no AC, fridge or microwave. We came prepared with a cooler and items that didn't need to be cooked. The nights were cool and we were gone most of the time so the AC was not an issue for us. The TV didn't work as well but we brought plenty of reading items and spent time out of the room doing other things. Gore mountain is nearby and the small town area (which has a rail trail and a grocery store) was about a 7-8 minute ride. The host was excellent. They were short staffed but she managed to run the hotel, including cleaning, all by herself. There's slim pickings for hotel rooms around the Gore Mountain area. This one worked out perfectly for us since we were hiking Gore Mountain which was only about 5 miles away.
