Several reviews note the surrounding streets look run-down or covered in graffiti, though many still felt fine walking and appreciated the nearby restaurants and bars. Rooms are basic and recently renovated, but recurring downsides include very firm mattresses, some noise from corridors or the street, and air conditioning that can struggle in hot weather. There is no on-site breakfast or restaurant, but a lobby vending fridge/snacks are available and dining options nearby are plentiful. Expect a clean, budget-friendly base for exploring the city.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights for a short time in athens. It was conveniently located four or five blocks from the metro and near bus lines. Really nice front desk staff and good value for a very reasonable price in athens. The breakfast next door for 8- e u r o was really great, to although there were tons of places to eat nearby from upscale coffee shops to local places.

Staff was nice, efficient check in and check out. Room maids were friendly and did a good job. Rooms however was on the noisy side. Sound from the hallways and elevator comes right underneath the door and awoke me in the night. Could hear other guests coughing loudly through the walls. Hotel is in a seemingly sketchy area. Lots of graffiti on the street building walls, located in an area with a lot of middle eastern and chinese businesses, and other very local small businesses. But when walking around in the daytime or early to mid evenings, I did not feel unsafe. The area is actyally vibrant with these businesses, with foot traffic. Lots of cheaper, various dining places and shops within 1 to 5 min walk. No restaurant in the hotel, no sundry store. But there is a refrigerator in the lobby where you can buy water, sodas, and beer at reasonable prices. So for price, it was okay for the value I suppose.

Nice big room. Good bed. Quiet. Loved the location; a vibrant neighborhood with good places to eat, shop, close to downtown, Monastiraki Square with Metro station, Short drive to Syntagma Square for access to bus for airport as an alternative to subway. No breakfast; tea coffee machine available with snacks for pay. I would use it again. Aris Metaxakis

Excellent value hotel and much better than I was expecting for a 2* hotel. Quite classy inside. Room on the smaller side, but more than enough for what was required. Local area quite run-down, but safe enough to the point that I booked this hotel having previously stayed at another hotel just around the corner. No food options, but well-priced drinks selection at reception.

Very helpful staff. Basic but very comfortable room with a lot of space. Vending machine in lobby with water and other beverages plus snacks. Don’t let the street/neighborhood scare you. Yes, there is graffiti on all the buildings and it’s not the prettiest of areas but there are a lot of good restaurants and cafes plus you are close to everything. I never felt unsafe.

Location is excellent, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and attractions. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean. My only issue was the comfort of the bed. Matress is rather thin and on slats, which isn't good for anyone with neck or back issues. Pillows and bedding were good quality though.

The staff at this hotel were wonderful. The room was clean and the shower was great. The bed was horrible. The mattress was so hard and thin we had to put blankets under the bed sheet to make it somewhat sleep-able. One of the worst beds we encountered on our 5 week trip. The area where the hotel is located is just blocks away from all of the wonderful sites. We had a ton of dining options and ate at one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve ever visited and it was right around the corner. We would come back if the could put screens on the windows, as the mosquitoes were bad and change the mattress for something you could sleep on.

The front desk people, esp. Georgios, were great. G. was always so helpful in recommending things and making the stay enjoyable. The building and area look a little sketchy from the outside, but it's a wonderfully restored property. It's nice to see what they did with it. The other guests were great, mostly tourist couples, and I really enjoyed my stay there. The area is fine and is walkable to many tourist sites.

The hotel is very much barebones and the surrounding area is dirty. It seems like the images online were photoshopped to remove graffiti. The front desk manager insisted I leave my room key with him every time I left the property, and we realized halfway through the stay that no other rooms were being asked to do that. Strange and unsettling experience. Do not recommend.

Stay is in a perfect location to Plaka and the hotel is clean and double room was spacious. Area is a bit run down, but it works just fine.

Nice location close to key sites. No street noise when in room. Location seems a little off the beaten path (small street, run down buildings) but we never felt unsafe. Everyone was very nice and it was a great overall experience!

O hotel é ótimo, quarto amplo, muito limo e confortável. A equipe é muito atenciosa, custo benefício ok. A localização é boa, mas os prédios ao lado são feios. Fica perto do mercado de alimentos de Atenas.

The hotel has been renovated and has comfortable rooms with a good shower and is quiet, despite being located just steps from a busy avenue leading to Monastiraki, one of the central squares.

All staff we met at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly, as good as anywhere. The hotel and its rooms is done to a very good standard and look nice, with modern looking bathrooms and clean throughout. Don t be fooled by the surrounding area its a good hotel to stay in, I've been to athens many times and would definitely look to return here.

The inside of the hotel was very nice. The rooms were big. I had an elevator and air-conditioning. The decoration of the rooms were simple but comfortable while the location is right in the heart of the city. The actual location of the hotel itself is not in a very nice area. I would not feel safe, walking outside by myself at night.
