Two stars. The location in Hillcrest was excellent and exactly where we wanted to be, and the bed was genuinely comfortable — honestly the best part of the stay. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Our room faced the street, and the noise out front kept us up at night. The remodel felt rushed and shoddy, with obvious wall patching throughout. The amenities were lower quality than we expected. The biggest disappointment, though, was the owners. Over our week-long stay, requests for cleaning assistance and extra toiletries were met with rude, unhelpful responses. For a full week, that soured the whole experience. The location and bed are real pluses, but be prepared for the downsides.

This review is specifically for the top floor room 601. The room is horribly bright in the mornings as it is full windows in every side with minimal to no shades, so extremely bright. As a result of uncovered windows, the room gets very hot during day. AC unit cannot cool given useless size of large room. Opening a couple windows is best option of cool outdoors. But when breezy, some windows shake loudly in their frame even if closed. Water pressure was so low that it dribbled out of shower, so we washed our hair in kitchenette sink. This is a weird place and I would not return. Facility manager Lee is friendly guy. His and his wife’s cafe on ground floor is outstanding and a must-experience. Come for breakfast or lunch even if staying elsewhere.

All of the staff here were very friendly, cheerful , and were working very hard to run the hotel. We were met at the entrance gate with a smile, they immediately gave a suggestion for something they noticed we were collectively and invisible confused about. And they made us laugh at a funny joke. Breskfast at the café was incredible! I have the French toast, coffee, and an egg with prosciutto... I was very Ipleased. Despite the amount of hoimeless people in the are, it was the prefect location for the things we had planned for our trip. Now the opportunities for improvement... first, the website is very misleading as to the quality of the rooms i had (Penthouse and studio loft). The Penthouse itself is a neat space... for a concern me room. It is big and open n and the views are wonderful, but it truly did not feel like a Penthouse. It felt like a conference room that the presenting company had run out of budgetary d just put a bed in the back corner for the conference facilitator to nap in between sessions. The windows were not insulated at the tracks at all, and even when closed you could see between the glass to the open air. Be used of this the room was also very loud. Our dishwasher had standing water in it. There were unfinished electricial boxes in the cabinets. The water pressure in the shower was very weak. We had trouble getting our door to close and stay closed. We can't ban one night and it was open. The worse though Is the back stairwell that serves as
