The parking garage needs a little more lighting at night. The ice machine on the 10th floor did not seem to be working so I ventured to the 8th floor for ice. Would be nice to have hook on the back of the bathroom door. liked that there was bottled water in my room.

First room was handicapped and smelled…we got a difference room on the 10th floor but had one working elevator which made coming and going impossible. while exiting the garage the gate work only occasionally. The bar was a joke. In my room the grab bar in the shower was not secured at the bottom and the button to activate the shower fell out everytime you turned off the shower. Staff was accommodating and polite…not thei fault but the hotel in general was out dated and in disrepair

The cards just don't work in one of those elevators (the right elevator when facing the elevators.) I had to go to the front desk every time I entered the hotel so they could try and get my cards to work in the elevator so I could use the elevator. Sometimes they got the cards working first try, sometimes they couldn't get it working even after the fifth try, but always the cards would fail to let me use the elevator to get to the floor with my room every time I entered the hotel. Those at the front desk said this was not a unique problem, so it wasn't just me, something is just wrong with the card setup in the elevators of this hotel, especially the right elevator. I appreciate the staff's patience in working with my cards every time I entered the building though.

Newly renovated. Rooms look and feel great. Only problem was the malfunctioning elevator to the parking garage. But parking was free! So, I cannot complain. At this price point, the hotel felt like a treat.

Friendly, clean, spacious, and perfectly located for our weekend plans. However, one of the two elevators was out of service the whole time we were there, and that made the wait around checkout time ridiculous. We were able to get parking in the garage every time we needed it, but we took the last spot a couple times so having a back up plan might not be a bad idea!

I’ve been at this hotel several times and loved it however this past weekend stay was really annoying and I wasn’t happy at all considering I had to wait long along with others for the elevator because there was only one working and the fact that it was hot as heck in the elevator no AC at which is ridiculous in these hot days of summer that was so annoying

Servce during breakfast was not good. Food was good but food order was incorrect and was took too long to get served. Restaurant understaffed and unorganized. One elevator out of order was a huge inconvenience. Walked up 7 flights of stairs to get to my room after waiting 15 minutes for elevator. Needed to get to graduation so time was of the essence. Bed too soft which resulted in back discomfort.

This Doubletree is being renovated and I understand that but the renovation does not seem to be managed in any meaningful/efficient manor. We requested a room with a view and the windows were filthy, so dirty you could not see out of them. The staff was pleasant.

The hotel was nicely remodeled. Unfortunately, room service was not available, but I was able to order and pick it up in the bar. The hotel was very quiet and pretty clean, although there were long hairs from I assume housekeeping, around the bathroom.

This was hands down one of the cleanest, most professional yet relaxed and well-organized hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and accommodating. I’m a clean freak—I tend to check corners and crevices—and everything was absolutely spotless. Breakfast felt like I was being waited on hand and foot. The bed had the perfect firmness, and my room was spacious and comfortable. I even extended my stay… and might be back next week. lol

I’ve started at this hotel before. This day was just a little different. Customer service was still great but the construction going on and did not warn us. They also put us on the floor directly under the construction, so it Was extremely loud. Also, our room was not as clean as it was the first time. When we walked in, it smelled very musky. There were also Band-Aids on the floor. We ended up buying air freshener to spray all over the room to get rid of the odor and it worked. We did not see any visible uncleanliness Other than the Band-Aids. The hotel is close to almost everything and the renovations look great.

The hotel is newly renovated and very clean. It was very quiet during our stay. Staff at the front desk were super helpful and friendly. We stayed in a suite and it would have been nice to have some supplies provided for the kitchenette - a few dishwasher tabs, paper towel, dishes and cutlery. But overall a great stay and we would stay again.

Stayed one night, check in was easy and the staff at check were super friendly and helpful. My room was on the 7th floor with amazing views of the Hudson River and beyond. Parking was convenient and free in an indoor lot. The room was immaculate clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has a binary boiler/cooler system that is either one or the other. I was there in mid March on a warm day and the heat was on in the hotel. There is a register in the room, but it doesn’t actually allow you to cool unless the entire hotel is switched to cooling. Way too hot to sleep when I was tgere, and they couldn't do anything about it.

We had a wonderful stay here and highly recommend the hotel. The front desk staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful and accommodating. By incredibly good fortune, we got a room on the top (10th) floor, looking west, with spectacular views over the Hudson. It was the highlight of our stay! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to control the temperature of the AC - brr!

This is a nice hotel, but IMO it's not a 4-star hotel. The one thing that I dislike about this hotel, and it is the fault of the Hilton brand, is that they installed a thermostat in the rooms that one cannot turn off. And the thermostat is noisy. There is no off feature, so if you want to turn off the thermostat, you have to call the engineer to do that. It appears that Hilton invested in a cheap thermostat system.

Hotel has been renovated and looks amazing. I was surprised based upon the outside of the building. All staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and tasty. Room was spacious, beds and pillows comfortable along with desks large for working.

Pros: - Convenient location in terms of proximity to train station, downtown and Walkway on the Hudson. - Rooms on upper level offer nice views across the Hudson. - Newly renovated rooms. Cons: - Would have been helpful to know the property was undergoing a renovation ahead of the stay, we could've been better prepared (such as pack earplugs). - Connecting doors and corridor doors do not offer enough soundproofing/STC/sound gasket, frequently and easily hear noises from other guests down the hall or in the adjacent room.

Throughout my stay, EVERY single employee was professional, friendly and helpful. From the front desk to the housekeepers and everyone in between. Although it is the process of being renovated, i was not inconvenienced in any way. Also, the location of this hotel is especially conveniently located near the Poughkeepsie Metro North/Amtrak station.

The first room we were in had a broken tv. They moved us across the hall, no problem. Around 11pm when it was time for bed we heard a squeaking and saw a mouse run by on the floor and behind the ac unit. I took out my phone and soon another mouse came out, this one behind the tv. It went across the front of the tv, took a piece of our welcome cookie, and ran back behind the tv. I filmed the whole thing. We called for another new room, they said they had no more king beds so we slept in a double queen room. The next morning they told us they couldn’t refund us because we booked through hotels.com. When hotels.com contacted them they said the contract was “non-refundable” and they wouldn’t give us a refund even though they breached the contract. Don't stay here. They don’t care about their guests. Will never come back.

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel is currently going under renovations so you'd expect the newly renovated rooms to have working plumbing. This is not the case. Our toilet did not flush and the sink did not drain. We stayed one night and asked the front desk to see if they could fix it but when they went to send someone, the toilet to flushed once. Unfortunately, it did not work for the remainder of our stay. When we asked the front desk again on the following morning, they told us to email Jim Hutchinson since there was no manager on duty that morning (which is also strange). We emailed and called twice, and have not heard back. This was over a week ago and still have not gotten any response. For a hotel that cost us over $300 for one night, this is unacceptable.

At check in I asked if I needed coupons for breakfast in the morning - was told it’s not included in my reservation. I showed them my room details in my trips on my Hotels app that showed my room amenities to be food/ beverage credit but they said it didn’t say that at their end - they called Hotels - ended up taking an hour of my time. Got no where with the hotel manager -Imane. Hotels told me to pay for breakfast and send them the receipt for reimbursement- what a hassle! Would NEVER stay here again. Will NOT get breakfast at this hotel.

The Doubletree is an excellent option for anyone interested in staying in downtown Poughkeepsie. I have stayed there on three different occasions in the last three months, each time for several days,and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the parking is free, access is convenient, there are great restaurants within a short walk, and it is only a short walk to the Poughkeepsie Bridge State Park, which is spectacular. Many rooms have a beautiful view over town to the Hudson River. For these reasons and more, I am looking forward to my next visit.

The signage for finding the hotel sucked. Basically no sign...they said they are awaiting approval from the city. We drove around the block 4 times before we found it. The food in the restaurant was terrible. The eggs benedict had hollandaise sauce that was like chicken gravy...inedible.

Stayed for a show and wanted to have dinner before. Walked around the neighborhood and everything was closed, Saturday afternoon at 5pm. Went back to the hotel and went to the restaurant. The bar/restaurant was crowded, there was a wedding party there and others attempting to dine. Unfortunately, there was only a bartender working. She was working hard, but definitely was not enough for the crowd. Several people complained and they finally brought out the security officer to deliver the food. Still very slow. The room was neat but cold. Adjusted the thermostat with no result. put pillows over the a/c and the room warmed up a bit. The hotel is nice and convenient but the little things made the visit unpleasant. Unfortunately, it's the only game in the neighborhod.

When i got there they tried to chRge me even though I already paid through Expedia. They had no record of me paying. Luckily I am organized and had documents. It said they had room service. NO room service. NO coffee for guests in the lobby. Now to the restaurant. A total disaster. We got there at 545 pm. Only 2 tables seated. We ordered water and our meals. Asked 3 times for water. It never came. Husband went to the lobby store and bought 2. Our meal didnt come until 7:10. I will say it was good but we had to hurry and eat as we had a show to attend at 8pm. Since it was the only place to eat around there we went back for breakfast. We ordered and again waited for an hour for our breakfast. But this time it never came. Our waiter came back and said....i need to take your order again....the other waiter gave it to another table and they ate it! THEY ATE OUR BREAKFAST! We left...very angry. When we checked out and I told the desk ladies, they did not care!

The front desk went out of their way for us when we had to add days onto our trip. Very nice and friendly. The hotel is under construction so we heard a lot of pounding and drilling throughout the day and was unable to nap. There is no gym and no pool so not much to do at the hotel site. The Restaurant and Bar is only open on the weekend. We stayed Monday to Friday so we had to go elsewhere for dinner and drinks. Luckily, there are restaurants and bars nearby to walk to. The bed was lumpy and hard but we managed. Room and bathroom clean and nice. Good maid service daily. For the price compared to other area hotels, it was affordable.

The hotel was clean and the staff was really nice and friendly. We took our breakfast at the hotel since we had to leave early and we thought it was very expensive, 14$ dollars for eggs and bacon, no toasts no coffee included. But for the rest it was good.

Delicious cookie on arrival. Beautiful, newly renovated room, with two free Poland Springs water bottles. Excellent free breakfast buffet. Staff couldn't be nicer. Great place!
