FYI, only two stories but no elevator. The room had an "old motel" smell. It didn't look dirty but the desk chair was full of crumbs and the ice bucket had trash in it. The refrigerator was frozen over and was barely cool. The young lady at the front desk was really sweet though.

The biggest issue we have with this hotel is that it has no elevator. Normally this wouldn't be a problem however we had two extremely large, heavy coolers that needed to be kept cold. So we had to lug them up to the second floor. The only first floor options available were of the "pet friendly" variety, which we were not willing to endure (smell, hair, etc.)

Room was clean, beds were comfortable. Conveniently located near the interstate. Was able to park my pickup truck pulling an rv in the parking lot, which was why I chose that hotel. There’s a few eating spots right around it. The Pizza Hut was good. We walked over to Meridy’s for breakfast. The food was good, prices were good, and the environment felt homey (it was all ole-timer regulars in there). Would definitely stay here again! Side note: If you walk out back in the morning you can get a nice view of the sunrise.

Bed was comfortable, room was sanitized and mostly clean, couple random items from the previous occupant in the room though. Building and room were a bit dated but everything worked. Breakfast was a little disappointing: waffles, cereal, breads, and biscuits and gravy with no protein items. Went to the McDonald's next door for breakfast. For a cheap hotel, it felt like a cheap hotel, at least the bed was clean and comfortable.

Comfy bed, clogged up sink, ok breakfast. Dont ask to check out late. I had an 11am meeting online which is only supposed to be for half hour and the lady at front desk wouldn't let me stay in the room to finish my conference call. Then she deactivated my room card key and I couldn't get back in to grab my luggage. I had to walk back to the front desk so I can load my things in my car and set up shop at McDonald's for my online meeting. Id find a more accomodating place next time.

My husband and I were on a trip to visit with his family in the Denver area when we were struck with serious vehicle problems. Our transmission blew a line and poured fluid all over I-70 just outside of Russell, KS. We found a local tow, and a repair shop to handle that part, and this wonderful place to stay for the duration. The rooms are clean and the beds and comfortable. The breakfast is good, with everything from biscuits and gravy to waffles! And the people have been amazing and so helpful with our situation. We had to extend our stay, and the manager just asked me if they could help us with anything or if someone could take us to a store if we needed anything else. Such great people. We drive through Russell a few times a year, but it's generally not someplace we stop as it's about halfway through our day's drive, but if you're ever in Russell and need a good place with wonderful staff this is the place!

We stayed on lower level which was fine but from outside u could see that many upper windows were boarded up which we didn’t see when we arrived at night. Area around hotel is similar to this type of hotel-not nice, trash strewn about. We were just driving thru and needed a bed so it worked for us. Manager was very nice and recommended only restaurant open late.
