GrandStay Hotel & Suites La Crosse

Small cold pool. Small hot tub was perfect. Clean room but smelled off at first. Good stay for the price.

Friendly staff. Very clean! The pool was a bit small and freezing. The hot tub was only the temperature that the pool should've been.

Breakfast was horrible. Nothing was replaced when over. You could hear noises from the floor above. Location is great, walkable to the riverwalk and restaurants.

Fitness center needs updated equipment and weights.

The pool and hot tub were not very clean, but the rest of the hotel was nice enough. The morning breakfast was really good.

Room was clean and comfortable! Staff super friendly and helpful. Pool and workout room was small. Location great. Extras such as “back court yard” with basketball, bags, putting green, nice seating and lighting area was really nice. A few indoor games in the lobby available was a nice touch.

Very small swimming pool. Breakfast was not that great. Containers of food were often empty. Very small area to eat in.

Could use some weights in the workout room, but that's my only complaint.

Location was great, just a few blocks from the La Crosse Center. Swimming pool was tiny and the fitness room was very small with quite limited equipment. Fortunately, the area is great for outdoor running.

Our room was one of the cleanest and most spacious that we have ever stayed in. This was an excellent choice for our trip.

The room was not very clean. I 5hink I spent more time cleaning than housekeeping. Bright pink lipstick on the door which easily wiped off. The bathroom door was damaged previously that you couldnt hardly get out when the door shut. There was little places to put your stuff in the bathroom. You had to out your clothes on the floor or balance it on the toilet or sink when you showered. No where to place your shampoo bottles and soap. No shelving. No place to hang a towel near the shower. Blinds were broke on the door so you could see into the room. Dishes, microwave and fridge were clean. Kitchen was acceptable. Beds were so so. The foot end was higher than the head. Room was quiet. Not much of a view but that didnt matter to us. Pool room is adequate. Hot tub was nice but super hot! Couldn't stay in it for very long. Everyone in it complained it was way too hot. Pool was nice but small.

Carpet in room very stained. Bathroom had dried soap scum, hair in tub and around toilet. Sour cream left in fridge. Open soda can in cupboard. I would not consider this a usable kitchen. There was absolutely no utensils to use. But there was a stove, microwave and fridge.

Clean spacious rooms, nicely decorated, clean pool and hot tub, great location and very friendly staff.

Not to clean, dishwasher full of dirty dishes, floor wasn't clean, under bed was filthy. Mentioned to staff at from desk, they didn't seem to care.. very disappointed.

Vents were full of mold. There was no happy medium with the temperature in the room....either freezing or very hot. Room was very dusty. Strings on floor so it appears it wasn't vacuumed. We set out laudry to be exchanged and it was never picked up, so we didn’t get fresh towels. Internet was extremely slow. Overall experience is a 2 out 5.

Will never return. Room was filthy, absolutely disgusting. Ice machine never worked, staff kept saying that maintenance guy was out buying ice, but two days later he still hadn’t returned?? Lady at front desk at check out could care less. You lost my business.

The double queen studio suite was spacious but the furntiure looked worn. The bathroom was a decent size but there was hair (not ours) all over the floor. Someone had unscrewed the stopper from the tub and hair was entangled with it. No extra blanket for the sofa sleeper. It was an event weekend but I expected more for the large price tag.

The air conditioning unit in the bed room was incredibly loud and went on and off. I ended up just turning it off, which was a bit uncomfortable. The room was a bit dated. Breakfast was not much of an offering--tasteless/bland scrambled eggs and soggy corned beef hash. Waffle was ok.

Beautiful hotel right near the riverwalk and easy walk to restaurants, shops and bars in downtown LaCrosse. The suite was huge with a living room and full kitchen. Would definitely stay here again.

Clean, quiet and everything we needed. We got a suite that had plenty of room with a nice little kitchen. I would def go back in the future

Double queen suite was very comfortable and spacious for our family’s stay. Close to downtown and the river, lots to walk to. Beds very comfortable. Pool and hot tub nice- a bit small but we loved hanging out there regardless. Easy check in and check out.

There isn't anyone at the front desk at all times and it took some time to get checked in because of this. Other than that, whoever checked me in was pleasant and kind. The building itself could use some updating. The door to our room was shaky and did not open or close properly. The bathroom door would get stuck and whoever is outside would need to open it on their end or you'd be stuck inside the bathroom. Because we only stayed for one night, we didn't feel it was worth it to make complaints for a new room.

The location is fine. The room fixtures are a bit tired — the bedroom doors are noisy, the floors creak, the walls are thin, the shower drain and toilet both became clogged after the first night. I don’t know what the people in the room above us were doing - it sounded like there were elephants wrestling. You could also clearly hear what people were saying in the room diagonally across the hall. It looked like there were people living in cars on the street leading to the hotel.

Normally my favorite place to stay. Check in this last time was not so great. Waited to check in front desk (male) was on the phone no big deal, but waited over 5 minutes. I always request 1st floor was told 1st floor was not available due to renovations however that was not true. Check in was just not good.

Arrived at 11:05 PM to check in and no one was in the lobby, so I was locked out of the hotel. No one answering the phone luckily another customer needed something in is car and let me in. Once I received my keys, I went to my car to get suitcase and was locked out again. I had to walk around hotel knocking on windows until someone came to front door. Will never stay in GrandStay again.

GrandStay takes great care of their customers. Our train was late and they accommodated us quite nicely. Warm atmosphere, nice, friendly folks.

Staff was amazing

The hotel staff did not replenish the towels in our room. When my wife went to the desk to inform then they said that it would be done shortly. When still no towels 4 hours later she went back to the desk and they gave her one to take back to the room. Not good customer service. When we had stayed there previously everything had been fine.

Everyone was very cheerful and professional. The breakfast was exceptional, I like that the pool is open later than most motels (Midnight) and the location right downtown but still hidden away is perfect for shopping all the unique little shops LaCrosse has, and walking distance from all the night life one expects in the town. Im making the Grandstay my spot whenever I'm in town.

The service and room were good, but something really needs to be done about the homlessness in front of the hotel on the road. Any time of the day, either looking out our window or leaving the property there were homeless people walking around the property. It's not that we felt unsafe, because they never bothered us, but the day we left, there was an older lady undressing on the road by her car, with just her bra and shorts on which was directly in front of the hotel. Some people with children would find this disgusting and offensive.

Great location near the river and parks adjacent. Good breakfast with sufficient variety.

Stayed here while going to a comedy show at the La Crosse Center. Easy walking to bars and restaurants. Very clean and staff was very helpful.

Perfect place to stay if wanting to be downtown

Great amenities and just a few blocks from downtown LaCrosse! Walkable to dining and shopping downtown. Very close to the river for outdoor activities as well. Great stay!

The location is PERFECT! Just off Riverside Park, walking to events and amenities (restaurants, bars, event centers, etc.) are very do-able!

First off, there is a homeless encampment next to the hotel. The people from the camp would come through the parking lot and sometimes into the lobby; there were a couple of screaming fights with a lot of profanity underneath our windows, and a bit of a scary encounter with someone on the walking path nearby. The hotel was also not as nice as we have come to expect from other GrandStay hotels. Although the lobby area is beautiful and the staff was very nice, the room seemed older and more worn than I expected. It felt like this location might have been converted from a different brand of hotel. The two-bedroom suite we stayed in was totally different than one we've stayed at in the Eau Claire, WI location. La Crosse did not have a full-size fridge and freezer in the kitchen, or a breakfast bar and dining table like our two bedroom suite in Eau Claire. Our bathroom had a bad smell when we arrived and we also experienced this same bad smell in the hot tub/pool area. Also there was no exhaust vent in the bathroom. The bedroom doors were French doors that did not make the rooms very private, instead of regular doors like Eau Claire. The windows of the French doors were covered with Venetian blinds that would clack back and forth when the doors were opened and closed, so when you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, it was hard to use the door quietly. I've really enjoyed previous GrandStay locations, but I'm sorry to say we won't be returning to this one.

Really nice place to stay. Large suite with easy walk to riverfront and downtown. Breakfast pretty good. Would absolutely stay again.

Pool and hot tub are small. Breakfast was all gone by 930 and reluctantly did put a few things out. Overall was pleasant and close to rotary lights and downtown businesses.

Breakfast was poor quality for the cost of stay. Greasy eggs. Bone bits in sausage patties, weak coffee.

This is a very nice hotel. The lobby is awesome. The pool is nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is likely the worst breakfast I have ever seen at any hotel I have stayed at. The selection not only sucks, but what little was there ran out long before breakfast ended. There was no milk for the cereal, no gravy for the biscuits, no peanut butter/jelly packets for the toast and the juice ran out. This breakfast was really, really bad. When we asked the attendent about these items he said he ran out.

This review is a bit late because we just finished a 4 week, 14 state road trip. Of all of the hotels we stayed on the trip, this was the best. The suite was very nice, staff was competent. Breakfast was very good. We were able to walk a short distance to the park and river nearby and dining locations were walkable as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

When we arrived and checked in dlshwasher was working. We left for dinner and came back after 3 hrs and it was still working. Another thing is air condition was not working and they put a replacement inside the room. That was so loud and we couldn’t sleep. Breakfast is so so, nothing special. Don’t expect much. Pool is so small, we decided not to use it. 3 star is for location.

This hotel was excellent in every way. Great location. Very good breakfast.
