What guests think

Travellers praise The Artist Athens for its central Monastiraki location near the metro and sights, exceptionally friendly staff, clean modern rooms, standout cooked to order breakfasts, and a rooftop bar restaurant showcasing memorable Acropolis views.

Rooms are modern and generally comfortable, though sizes range from very spacious to quite small, and some guests noted soft mattresses, intermittent AC performance, or occasional hot water fluctuations. The surrounding streets can feel gritty to some, and a few found the hotel sign or entrance hard to spot. Expect a stylish boutique stay with a lively, urban vibe.

We would like to say “Efcharistó” to the amazing team at The Artist Athens. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and freshly hand-made lemonade. We enjoyed beautiful breakfast daily. We also enjoyed a sensational Gastronomy Experience at the Rooftop restaurant, which has an uninterrupted and incredible view of the Acropolis at sunset. I have to say the staff at the hotel were exceptional and demonstrated Greek hospitality at its finest. We’ll be back. Until then, it has been the most wonderful experience… To Nikki, Ioanna, Vaso, Dimitris, Labros, Nick & Ahmet “efcharistó gia ton ypérocho chróno Thank you all so very much for taking care of us.

We enjoyed our stay at The Artist in Athens. The breakfast every morning was very good. The room was comfortable, with a beautiful view of the neighborhood church. We did an excellent cooking class with Chef Spiros and enjoyed eating our creations in the fabulous rooftop restaurant in the evening. We found the location convenient for walking to points of interest, though the streets near the hotel are quite narrow. Overall, we would recommend this hotel!

Perfect hotel for a short stay in Athens. Comfy rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast and excellent location. Everything is within walking distance. Make sure you do the cooking course on the 4th floor, it is a fantastic experience! Only downside to the hotel is the noise at night that comes from the nearby bars and restaurants that goes on until the early hours. With earplugs it’s tolerable so don’t let this put you off, just remember to pack some!

This was a wonderful stay, right in the heart of Monastiraki, which is like a hub of activity! Despite there being a restaurant right outside, we were on the 2nd floor, and couldn't hear a thing - great soundproofing! The roof terrace is lovely and the breakfast was also great - made to order! Would definitely stay here again, it was perfect.

We were just here overnight before our flight back home. We went straight to the rooftop restaurant for dinner, and in addition to outstanding food and wine, there was a lovely view of the Acropolis, and on the building next to the hotel, they showed old movies! The wait staff were very friendly and knowledgeable, and recommended an excellent wine with our dinner.

The Artist Athens was a nice hotel with very clean rooms. The daily breakfast is made to order and tasty. The rooftop bar is great and the restaurant looks good but we don’t get a chance to try it. The location is amazing - easy to walk to all of the main attractions and area for restaurants, shopping, site seeing and quick bites. Staff was very nice.

First time in Europe and we were warned that room sizes are fairly small, we had a junior suite and the room was an amazing size with 2 large bags still had enough room! Walking distance to all the main attractions, a little loud at night obviously since in the main area so expected. Only suggestion, no tissue paper in the room, we didn’t always get hot water for a shower it was like warm sometimes but overall amazing stay, breakfast delicious we would stay again!

We found the staff really friendly and helpful here, throughout our stay. On the day we checked out early to go to the port to catch a ferry, which was subsequently cancelled, we returned to the hotel and they took our bags in and allowed us the free breakfast we normally got, even though we had officially left, this was really nice of them as we were in a bit of stress as we had no way of getting to our next stop to Santorini. The hotel was very clean and tidy and food lovely at breakfast.

Stayed here last July and I liked it so I decided to stay again this July. Great location convenient to the metro, staff was friendly and helpful. Only a few complaints the knobs to the shower would fall off, the bed was the worst I ever slept on at a hotel, they just pushed two beds together to make a queen couldn’t sleep in the center because it was a big hump. Asked front desk for a wake up which they never called.

Hotel breakfast is very generous, the bread basket has assorted Greek pastries in addition to bread. Wide selection of main courses to choose from and best of all, it ends at 11am, later then most hotels. Sound insulation can be slightly better. Like the terrace garden on second floor too. Only issue is that shower ceiling has a beam which is slightly low so sometimes bump slightly into it.
