Ski Inn

Rooms were small but comfortable. Kitchen and living room were common area for all guests to enjoy. I would recommend staying here.

Very comfortable… the only thing I noticed both times I’ve stayed there, is that there’s very little hot water or none… I think they need bigger water heater to accommodate everyone…otherwise, very nice and comfy 😊

Great place to stay! Room was a little small for a long stay but perfect for one night. Parking is very limited but really cool place otherwise.

There was very little parking which made it difficult in the ice and getting luggage in on the ice and snow. The place is beautiful. The heat just never came on in our room. Without the portable heater we would have froze. Thankful they provided that!

Room we were in - South Room wery small. Parking on property inadequate for number of guests. Room was quiet and clean. Breakfast items only adequate.

Convenient with shuttle service to and from rail depot to the ski inn. Great selection of grab and go items for breakfast. Clean rooms, nicely appointed. Only problem was shuttle drop on side, entered from side where there is a double door with key pad. The key code we were given didn’t work because the front door was on around the building. Once we figured that out, it was all good.

This place was great overall. Just a heads up for people staying here; there is no elevator. If you have issues with stairs, request Room #1 or #2. Room #3 (where we stayed) is down 4 stairs, but it's not too bad. Room was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. There are several eateries within waking distance.

Mixed bag of good and bad. The good: Girdwood is a cool little town. Location is great. Cafe, a couple restaurants, small grocery all walkable. Property is clean and tidy. Multiple breakfast options. The bad: So many beeps. Yes, beeps. The keypad lock on the front door doesn’t close properly so It’s always making noise and the guests trying to get in struggle with it and inadvertently ring the doorbell constantly. There’s an ignored dryer or washer that beeps incessantly as well. There is no staff on site, so there’s nobody to welcome you or field concerns. Rooms are pretty small. A couple of rooms do share a bathroom. Not a terrible stay by any stretch, but a few annoying things that add up a bit.

Many rooms were vacant at this time of the year, so it was very quiet. Room #4 was very small with limited area to put luggage, but was adequate for a one night stay. Took a very long time for hot water to heat up for the shower. Nice variety of grab and go breakfast items in common dining area, which is available for guests at all hours.

Wonderful stay. Simple check in & had everything we needed. Love the Ridge room & the common space. A perfect stay. Will return.

Room floors were dirty and wet wash cloth was left in the shower. No way to charge phones overnight without disconnecting the TV. Overall a mediocre place

Like: Location and breakfast set-up; quick trouble shooting by phone, but on-site staff would have been better. Dislike: 1. Electronic door entry hard to manage 2. Room was too small considering we had 2 large suitcases 3. room was dirty - Q-tip and underpants on floor next to the bed; - shower exhaust fan was filthy

The Park View room was small, but perfectly cozy and comfortable for two. The room was spotless, and we appreciated the fact that, although we arrived an hour early, they worked with us to check us in early. Their breakfast spread is very nice! Would very much recommend this place.

Was nicer than the no frills hotel I expected. Room was super clean and very nice decor (except the flowered shower curtain) and I’m being picky. Small area for breakfast with plenty of grab and go options. It’s not a hot full breakfast. Great restaurant across the street.

Deciding between Alyeska and Ski Inn figured I’d save a few dollars. I made the wrong call. The room and common area were dirty, there was damage in the room and a lack of amenities. It seems this place has been impacted by the staffing issues country wide and hopefully my experience is just reflective of that and there are better days ahead.

Super clean and beautiful

Beautiful gardens, lovely clean room, fabulous shower! The only suggestion we'd make is to add another door at the top of the stairs to the Ski View Room as people using the kitchen at 6am woke us up. Otherwise, great stay!

We had a nice stay at the Ski Inn. Though our room wasn't cleaned well (needed vacuuming and dusting) , the Inn felt pleasant. Breakfast was just fine for us since we don't need much in the morning. There was coffee, tea, chips, bagels, yoghurts, jelly, creamcheese, (chocolate)milk, fruits, pineapple and vegetable juice and peanutbutter. Our room (inlet view) was very small and we had a hard time to put our suitcases somewhere. There was no closet either. The livingroomarea was really comfortable and cosy.

Our room view looks right up into the mountains. The town is fun and has many chalets and inns. This is a very special destination,

The photos of this property are misleading!!! You must read the fine print to know that this “room” shares a bathroom with at least 4 other rooms!!! There is no in room kitchenette… Our particular room was a tiny space that didn’t even a place for luggage or a tv. I would rather sleep in my car than stay here again.

The rooms are extremely small but good for a night or two. Really liked the open dining area that had a small refrigerator with snacks. And simple breakfast

The walls are paper thin and there was a consistent beeping noise coming from downstairs. It was incredibly hard sleep with the sounds going off throughout the night. I stayed in room 5 and could hear it all night. If it weren’t for the lack of sleep and the maddening beeping noise, it would have been a very pleasurable experience.

the code pad at the door is a bit tricky... the ridge room was very nice. breakfast in the morning useful, everything in the room gy selfservice. in the house on the backside was a party going on all night til 3 am, as the windows of the ridge room facing this site was not fun...

We were on the third floor. It was terrible for getting your bags up there. Place was a little tight for your bags.

This place needs some updating - paint. It was also an extremely small room - noy emough room to have two suitcases in our room Had to put my suitcase in the shower - fortunately didn't need a shower as it was just an overnight stay.

To small and nowhere to put luggage. Hot water was very limited. No tv in any rooms.

The code provided to open the front door didn’t work. We repeatedly tried calling the property manager and they never replied. The Hotels.com rep we spoke to was able to obtain the door code which had been changed and wasn’t communicated by the property. We didn’t get into our room until 1am. Shower had no soap. Dispensers were empty and no bar soap either.

It was an amazing stay in Girdwood. The owner Troy who was not at property but we had chat via phone. Troy was nice and friendly. The property is a gem in Girdwood and luckily I hit an off season deal. I will definitely catch Troy if I go again! Thanks for great hospitality 😊

I would have given this property 5 stars overall if it wasn’t for those horrible electronic door locks that they use. When coming to your room after a long day of driving it shouldn’t take me 5 tries to get this thing to work. I finally got in my room, then next day after I went out and returned I couldn’t get it to work again….beyond frustrating..found out they had entered my phone number wrong and that’s why it would not let me in. Can’t we just have an old fashioned key? The room itself is modern, extremely clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would stay here again.

This isn’t for everybody! We had been on a long flight from FL and arriving to a code entry was terrible….is like going on a treasure hunt to figure out your room number which the code is your phone number. I was tired and all I wanted was to get in my room. There is not staff at any time. Hair dryer was broken and blankets and pillows smelled. Sheets were clean but only 2 towels for a 4 people reservation.

My husband and I came for a night at the Sitzmark. I had downloaded my email from the Ski Inn but didn't realize it was an email from a year ago so we couldn't get in. The Ski Inn was very responsive when I called and found our reservation and got us in and off for a fun night! Thanks for your courtesy and all of your help!

Everything was very nice and clean, just a little difficult with getting in to the place via codes and actually finding the room. There was an issue with our keypad on arrival, but after a little while of messing with the screen it resolved itself. No staff onsite to help, it was middle of the night.

The front desk was supposed to be staffed during stated hours, never found a person. The rugs/floor had not been vacuumed, and dirty linens in the loft. However, the sheets were clean, the bed comfortable, the shower amazing, and I appreciated the washer/dryer!

There are no staff available in the evening, and the property has a door code to get you into the building. This code they gave doesn’t even work… luckily for us, another guest was downstairs and heard us struggling and let us in. If they weren’t there we wouldn’t have been able to access the building. What a joke

Great location. Close to good restaurants. About a mile to the ski lodge. Clean comfortable. I had the top floor with a kitchen private bathroom shower. Overall very pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ski Inn, which is conveniently located in Girdwood and several restraints are within walking distance.

Our favorite place to stay in Girdwood when skiing at Alyeska. Super clean property, very convenient location close to everything, and easy parking.

The rooms are clean and comfortably furnished. It is very conveniently located to several good restaurants and mercantile/grocery store.

Charming place in a great location. Felt more like a bread and breakfast. Nice lobby area with couches and snacks. Coffee and other items like yogurt, oatmeal and bagels available at no cost for breakfast. A little noisy with loud live music next door.

An attractive place to stay. We had an unexpected continental breakfast with good choices. A lovely housekeeper made us welcome and lent us her hose to enable us to wash our dusty car. A comfortable room. Three dining options and a mercantile store on the doorstep. Perfect location.

Liked the area and public transportation. Liked the quality grab and go breakfast offerings and that items were available anytime. One night I couldn't eat the food from a restaurant we chose for dinner. By 1:00 AM I woke up hungry...went downstairs and had a toasted bagel with Philly cream cheese and a V8 then back to sleep. Clean bathroom and fluffy towels. Only real complaint were the pillows. Too many accent pillows taking up space and the ones for sleeping were not at all comfortable. I definitely would not hesitate to stay here again.

It was a cute property in a great location! They had a lot of amenities available, including hot drinks, breakfast and snacks.

We stayed at Ski Inn during a 2 week trip to Alaska where we were at a different location almost every night of our trip, and this was our favorite location. We super lucked out even getting it since we stayed during Forest Fair, which we didn't know about when we booked, and that was a lot of fun. Fair warning though, there was music from a nearby bar until well past midnight. Not a problem for us, though, and I don't think that happens all of the time. Other guests did not seem bothered either, and it was really cool to see how the whole town embraced Forest Fair and we loved visiting both the fair and the trails in the area. The hosts were amazing, very accommodating and friendly, and I wish we could've stayed a little longer we had such a good time overall. Everything was clean and comfortable. Very easy to get into the building and room with the emailed instructions. And we very much appreciated the good breakfast options (bagels & cream cheese, oranges, and Chobani were favorites, plus the cappuccino machine). There is a free shuttle (donations accepted) to get around town to trails, the lift, etc. Lots of other dining options and shops as needed. Definitely recommend! If we are ever in the area again, I would 100% stay here.
