Stayed 1 night

We arrived and the hotel had a strong glade plug in smell; perhaps masking odor. We got a key for the room-a real key. Who has those anymore? Can’t someone make a copy of it?!! We got to our room and were welcomed by a roach on the lamp shade and crunched up bug remnants on the bed spread. We simply needed to sleep for 5 hours, so we smashed the roach and took off the bed spread and slept in our hoodies up over our head and covered from head to toe on top of the sheet. I was also surprised there was a door in the room that opened to the outside of the hotel (bottom floor). This was not made known in the description or pictures. This is a major safety issue as far as I am concerned being a female traveling with my daughter. Anyone could break thru the lousy chain! I spoke with front desk attendant the following morning. The manager/owner called me. I just wanted to voice my concern and experience. I was calm and was not asking for a refund. She was very defensive about the roach and said it was a wood roach. There aren’t woods around. And I’m sorry, all roaches are disgusting. She said the building has 18 cameras and is 2 minutes from police station. I didn’t walk the perimeter (we literally needed to sleep). But, I can tell you there were NO cameras in the hallways. I did take note of that as our room was around the corner and next to an emergency exit. Another uncomfortable feeling. Use caution if you decide to stay at this hotel.

Very helpful staff. Clean room. Meticulous. Could have used a decaf coffee packet in addition to a caffeinated one, since I arrived late.
