The Marquette Hotel

What guests think

At The Marquette Hotel, guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable, often spacious rooms and a walkable neighborhood location, with simple code-based self check-in, while noting street parking only, no onsite staff, and occasional communication or maintenance hiccups.

Many guests also highlight good value and a generally quiet environment. A downstairs cafe provides coffee and pastries at times, but hours and breakfast details are inconsistent. A practical choice for short city stays.

The hotel is well located, good price, it is clean and spacious, miss not having an elevator. Parking was something that was a sock, on the hotel’s description said there was a parking, but only on the street. It is close to the capitol and easy drive.

I was initially nervous when I read that the hotel did not have their own parking area, but it was super easy to find spaces on the street, right in front of the property. The check-in process was simple — I received a text with the access code and I was able to get in without any problems or fuss. The room was spacious and clean and had everything I needed. I will definitely book again.

A horrible experience at all ends, for which they refuse any kind of a refund. The room smelled when we arrived, and further inspection revealed the bedsheets had not been changed (dirt, filled with giant hairs, creased from the previous night's bodies). The property was impossible to contact, for over 24 hours, meaning they couldn't put it right and we had to book elsewhere. Even Expedia found it difficult to get in touch with them! Give the Madison Marquette so-called Hotel a WIDE BERTH.

About as in the heart of Madison as you can get at a great price! Saw most of the local sites on foot! The lack of human contact takes some getting used to, but I had no reportable issues. Well, except the air conditioner had an annoying high pitched whine but it was cool enough to turn off at night.

We stayed in the ground floor unit in the back, designed for accessible travelers so quite roomy. It was clean, basic, and comfortable. There was some early morning street noise, not the hotel's fault, otherwise we slept fine. Never saw a human, but we didn't need any assistance. No frills, great location for us, a good value.

We stayed here for a concert at the Sylvee. It was about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. This hotel is a great alternative if the hotels closer to the Sylvee are too pricey.

It’s great if all goes well; fun location etc. but if there’s issues there’s no one around and no one to communicate with. It was challenging to check in and confirm our room number and then once we got in our room its hot and stuffy and the super cool fan/ac doesn’t work and no one is available to talk to/problem solve with. A bummer to be sure.
