I absolutely loved and would choose this location again. The view of the beach from my room was breathtaking. There is so much wildlife just wandering around. I even seen a whale for the first time in my life while watching the sunset from my room patio. All the restaurants were in walking distance. The drive to the cove was interesting. Very windy roads with beautiful scenery. The hotel staff and entire community were all so friendly and welcoming.

The Inn of the Lost Cove was unfortunately a significant disappointment. When we booked through Hotels.com, we were impressed by the photos showing attractive rooms with large windows, stone fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, and cathedral ceilings. Those images played a major role in our decision to book a three-night stay. What we actually received was very different. Our room was on the lower level, next to an old pool table, and felt nothing like the rooms prominently featured in the listing. The windows did not open, and the window blinds were broken. If you scroll far enough through the Hotels.com photos, you can eventually find images of the type of room we were given, but those images certainly did not reflect the impression created by the photos featured earlier in the listing. Shelter Cove itself is lovely and certainly worth seeing, but we found there was relatively little to do there for an extended stay. We had planned to spend some of our downtime enjoying the hotel jacuzzi, only to discover after arriving that it was out of service. That was particularly disappointing given that we had booked three nights and expected to be able to enjoy the hotel's amenities during our stay. We did find a nice local brewery and an enjoyable restaurant for breakfast, both of which were bright spots during our visit. However, between the room not meeting our expectations, the jacuzzi being unavailable, and the limited activities in Shelter Cove, we decided to leave after our first nig

Obviously it's the view that sells the place. But having food there on site is an excellent advantage.
