At Studio 6-Buttonwillow, CA, travelers describe a budget stopover with basic rooms and kitchenettes and a convenient I-5 location, but recurring cleanliness issues, pests and smoke smells, and some maintenance problems temper otherwise simple, low-cost stays.

Many guests praise quick, polite check-in, including late arrivals. Room comfort, Wi-Fi reliability, and working fixtures vary from updated to run-down, and some travelers report noise depending on location. Breakfast is simple, often waffles and coffee, and truck parking is available, while the laundry has been reported out of order. Expect a no-frills stay with variable quality.

We enjoyed our stay. The kitchette was handy. Everything worked, i just wish the laundry facility was a bit cleaner and both washing machines were working. Otherwise its a great place for the price.

Includes small kitchenette. Bathtub rusting, bathtub/toilet area very tiny. Hinges on bathroom door rusted and door won't shut. Welcome mat outside door is very dirty and sidewalk area hasn't been cleaned in some time. A nice thing, and unusual at Motel 6 is an included breakfast.

Check-in was great. Very welcoming. A little confusing at first because there is a sign on the lobby door with instructions to check-in at another hotel at the same property. Great location for a quick overnight on a long roadtrip. Everything very close by; restaurants, gas, highway and mini groceries. Excellent AC. Comfortable bed. New kitchen with full-sized refrigerator. Old shower/tub stained and slightly chipped. Old doors. Good blackout curtains. Old and cracked headboard. Old linen. New wood laminate floors. New bathroom cabinets. Good sitting area for eating and working area. Lots of electrical outlets. Ample lighting. Small room; little walk-around room. Clean grounds and parking area. Parking in front of your room. Quiet.

Gross! Our room smelled like cigarettes and was 84 degrees at check in. The trash under the kitchenette had not been emptied before our arrival. There were moldy Taco Bell cups in the bathroom. The bathroom had dirty handprints on the walls. There were dead bugs on the floor. The breakfast area had ants crawling on the counters. Just go somewhere else. I chose this location because the reviews said how clean it was. They must have stayed somewhere else and got confused. I told the front desk about our room and they apologized.

The room was so dirty! It smelled like a litter box, the bedspreads were stained, some of the towels looked like they had not been washed, the floor felt like it had a film of dirt on it, the bathroom sink didn’t drain properly, and there were little piles of hair on the bathroom floor. We arrived late after a long day of travel so we made the best of it but safe to say that we will not be back.

Lock on the room didn't work properly and had looked like it was barely hanging on the door like it had been broken into before. There was a large gap between the door and the wall itself letting in a draft as well. Didn't sleep well as I was a bit worried of our safety in the room with our children. Next time I'll pass on this one and spend the extra money and drive further for better comfort and peace of mind.

The Room was spotless, but tiny. Smaller than some regular motel 6 rooms I have stayed in. The Bed was comfortable, but they only provided 2 small pillows, barely enough for me. It Would not have been enough if I would’ve had a traveling partner. All the linen was clean, but the towels were small and thin. There was a microwave, full sized fridge, and cooktop. But no cups plates or silverware. This is an extended stay motel? Wi-Fi was OK, but it did cut out a few times. Next time, I would either stay at one of the other motels in town, or just head down the road to the next town. Thanks anyway.
