Izla Beach Front Hotel

Friendly staff, good food, small and made us feel safe and we really enjoyed the beach front access. Would definitely come back to this hotel! The adults only rooftop pool and lounge was also great.

Our stay was a week long in October. The weather was beautiful. Even when it rained it was SO warm. The staff are the most incredible humans. We have pictures with them we plan to send back. We had the ocean front room with a pool on the patio. The patio pool is small but nice to take a dip after being in the ocean. I would recommend bug repellant of some sort if you want to spend any time in the pool at night time. The mosquitoes are insane. The big pool is gorgeous and was practically empty the whole stay. There is also an adults only pool on the top floor. It is more of a lounge pool than a swim pool. It was also empty 99% of the time. The beds and pillows were fairly comfortable. Shower was clean, had good water pressure. The only thing I would say is that if you are doing the all inclusive and are there longer than a week, the food may get boring.We tried everything on both menus. There was not any food that wasn't delicious. Our favorite was the tomato cream soup, I could eat that every day forever. It was exactly the relaxing vacation I had hoped for. Thank you to Jose Luis, our favorite waiter, along with Ninette, Adrian(bartender), Julio, Arturo, and anyone else we missed. We will definitely be back to this resort. Snorkeling: We saw a small ray and lots of fish just swimming off the shore. We took a snorkel excursion with a company we booked at the hotel and saw ray, barracudas, and lots of colorful fish.

Great little hotel. Food was not great for dinner, but the lunch was pretty good. The hotel is small, kind of walkable (5min to a bar down the street, 15min to "the joint"), but best to have a golf cart to tool around. The hotel was clean and well kept for the most part. The pool was chilly but it's early in the warm season. The beach was well kept and cute. All inclusive was a great deal so we did that and also ventured off quite a bit which I would highly recommend. North is busy, more touristy, but south has cool, niche spots to discover. Loved Isla and recommend a golf cart for your whole stay, there are so many places to discover!

The hotel overall was great. A bit far from town, not walkable but cabs were not expensive. The restaurant and staff at restaurant were beyond excellent. The food was the best. The restaurant staff suggested difficult choices and I found those suggestions perfect. Lobster was huge, breakfast buffet was a great spread. I enjoyed the spa with a massage daily. Both therapist were excellent. Adult pool was usually had no one but myself and quiet. The beach area was just enough, although like everywhere else in Quintana Roo, sea grass, but staff did clean it up every morning. A spa jacuzzi tub on deck, never used but a wonderful experience for couples. Remember when using water in the bathroom, cold is hot and hot is cold, its backwards and that is the same all over Mexico. I would highly recommend the hotel if you want to be away from the busy, noisy town with hundreds of golf carts.

The condensation problem in our room cause tye mirrors to stay fogged and the floors were so damp we were sliding. There were only 2 restaurant options the one Numa NEVER OPENED the other one had thr same menu breakfast lunch dinner from Tuesday-Friday. There were 3 treadmills in the gym that did not work. Nice place but very boring. Sky lounge bar never opened so i had to stay in the area with children at thr pool.

Beautiful views of the turquoise water. Definitely more of a 40+ clientele and their older children. Pool bar is fun and the lunch menu is better than most. Be sure and schedule a massage at the spa-amazing!

Beautiful hotel. Please know, although the restaurant is excellent, you are a 20 min. walk or $5-10 one-way taxi to most other restaurants. But we loved the food every place we went. We like to walk, so for lunch, that was it. There are 2 bar/restaurants 5-7 min. walk from hotel. North Beach is far away and also VERY crowded. However, that is where the action is. Quiet on this side of the island. Also, the beach is not big at all and surrounded by beach clubs do not a good beach stroll. Both pools were COLD. You can rent golf carts to get around. NOTE: no refrigerators on the room. Ask about getting one. Overall, we enjoyed it here. PS: If you want to take a catamaran sail/snorkeling, you must take the ferry back to Cancun to meet up with the cat, then sail right back here for the day. Kinda dumb. Shout out to Abdulio at happy hour at the Sky Bar and Monica in the restaurant.

This hotel was beautiful. Beyond extremely clean. The pool facing the beach and the sunset was outstanding. The staff was so nice and accommodating. Loved the pool menu as the food was great and love our waitress Claudia, who was a doll but not so much the food in the dining room ( day and night). Would not recommend an all inclusive. The only bad thing for us was if you have children especially, having a refrigerator in your room is ideal and none of the rooms had. Breakfast buffet was not good at all and it was the only option for breakfast which we did not like either. Better food and small refrigerator in rooms. would have gave it a 5 star for me But overall, it was good.

Pros: • Friendly and professional staff at restaurants, bars, spa, and front desk • Quality massages and facials at reasonable prices • Convenient excursion bookings (snorkeling, golf cart rentals) • Good food quality, plus occasional beachfront dinner with live music • Two pools: a main pool and a rooftop pool with a bar for sunset views • Comfortable rooms with balconies, USB/outlet options, and coffee machines • Champagne at check-in • Currency exchange available (though small bills depend on availability) • Small lobby store for essentials • 10-15 minutes from ferry, Playa Norte, and shops • Plenty of pool/beach chairs with shade options and towels • Generally quiet throughout the day and night Cons: • 2-2.5 hour travel time from airport due to island location • Inconsistent WiFi • No fridge or bathtub in rooms • All-inclusive doesn’t include room service, premium drinks, or some dishes • Paper wristbands tear easily and must be replaced if lost (fee applies if you lose the band) • Small resort with limited restaurants, pools, and shopping options • Few planned activities (no exercise classes, games, etc.) • Small beach with seaweed, so most guests swim in the pool or go to Playa Norte • Room keys must be returned or a fee is charged • Must sign receipts for every drink/meal, even at the bar

The pictures for this hotel looked great, please don’t be fooled. The room was incredibly dirty, there was a bad smell in the bathroom, even the sheets and pillows were dirty and stained. The water coming out of the sink was rust orange. There was room service dishes left out for days. The only redeeming quality was the view from the balcony and the jacuzzi tub on the balcony, which was also extremely dirty with hair and dirt upon arrival and we had to clean ourselves. The pool and beach area looked nice and at night time offered a nice place to sit. It’s sad it was so dirty as this is a great location with an awesome view, but not worth the money in my opinion.

The first time in my life I ever left a property after only the first night, would not have even stayed the night, no other options. The dirtiest room I had ever been in. Soon as we entered room, noticed bedding, down to mattress had multiple staining. My partner, wouldn’t even shower, we were given new bedding, new mattress was so old caused back aches for us. I could go on….

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was damp, with excessive moisture in the air that made everything feel sticky and uncomfortable. Even worse, there was a strong smell of mold that hit me the moment I walked in — it was honestly hard to breathe at times. It’s clear that proper ventilation and cleaning are not priorities here, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a serious mold issue behind the walls. For anyone with allergies or respiratory issues, this place could be a nightmare. To make matters worse, the food options were incredibly limited. What was available was bland, poorly presented, and definitely not worth the price. It felt like an afterthought rather than a proper service you’d expect from a hotel. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here — it’s uncomfortable, unhealthy, and not worth the money. I left early and will definitely not be coming back

We've stayed here before and it was a lovely experience then but this time was not great at all. Everything looked unkept. The walkway walls had holes in them, elevator was broken the entire stay, mens bathroom out of order for entire stay, no one looks up from their phones or greets you when you walk by the desk. No bellmen. Worst part was our sheets and pilllows smelled terrible.

The property is very well kept and in great condition. Upon entering our room the MUSTY smell overtook us each time. We commented to others and i guess "thats just how it is". That musty smell is still lingering a week later in our cpap machines after our trip home. What was especially disturbing is how dangerous and slippery the floors in each room are. The first night i got out of bed, slipped on the humid tile floor and pulled a muscle in my arm trying to catch myself. Scared my wife finding me on the ground. Looked in rooms as they were being cleaned and each room cleaners cart has a floor squeegee and then they towel dried the floors. Our entire party also found the bar sercice to be awkward and slow.

The property was very nice. It was very clean. The only thing that I have a problem with is when you walk into our room it kind of smelled like mildew other than that. Everything was good.

Modern, quite, clean, relaxing

Very nice hotel. We enjoyed the adult pool as well as the family pool. We couldn’t thoroughly enjoy the private beach because there was a lot of seaweed. We loved our full ocean view room although they had to replace the tv because it was not working properly and there was no refrigerator even though there was a space clearly meant for it. We asked the reception desk for a refrigerator and they said they would look into it. We never heard back from them. They also offered a currency exchange service however I attempted to exchange currency 3 days consecutively and every time they said they were unable to do so. We stayed for one week and overall it was a very pleasant experience. It was worth having the all inclusive amenity. The food was good and the pool/restaurant staff were wonderful!

The resort and room were nice but felt expensive for what it is. The location was quiet and we enjoyed it as we had a golf cart to get around. The AC is locked in the room so you are unable to turn it up or down to be comfortable. You can ask front desk to change it but it took several requests and reluctance. Also it’s important to know that when you have maid service they take your towels and wash cloths but do not give you new ones for several hours. It’s my understanding they send away dirty laundry and need to wait for its return. Would be good to know this as we were without when leaving pool and wanting to shower. We ate a couple meals at resort and food was good. I do want to give out a big shoutout to the man selling his hand crafted items in the lobby. He spent so many hours there and was so kind and never once pushy! We loved this and him so we made sure to purchase from him before we left. Support local! Would stay here again if we found a better deal. Was maybe just higher as we booked closer to travel.

This was a very nice, but interesting place. They are a regular hotel, that also has an all-inclusive package. There is some friction with the fact the not everyone has the leakage package, which means that you always need to sign receipts and give your room number. In general the food was delicious. Breakfast was solid, but not the most extensive. They had an omelette station that also made fresh chiliquilles. Coffee was a bit of a struggle, especially early in the morning. The lunch time/pool menu was very good, lots of Mexican favourites and they have amazing ceviche (regular and black!). Dinner was good, but Numa, the second restaurant, seemed understaffed and always seemed humid with a weird damp smell. We ate at the main restaurant after that first night, and the food was good, but the menu was more limited. The staff everywhere were great, and are what made this a great trip. The drinks ate the bar are a step up from most all inclusives, with either better quality mixes, or actually fresh mixed. More serving and bartending staff would help, as at times it was hard to get a drink, but ordering 2 of everything helped that problem!

Rummen håller bra klass och ingenting finns att anmärka på renlighet, utsikt, eller komfort gällande själva hotelrummet. Rummen är även stora med väl tilltagna badrum och balkong/uteplats. Tyvärr är internetuppkopplingen tveksam och håller inte en standard eller stabil uppkoppling givet ett hotell i den här prisklassen. Restaurangen, servicen, variationen på menyn, och kvaliteten på maten får totalt underkänt. Tyvärr är hotells geografiska läge även så att för att nå övriga restauranger och övrigt utbud behövs transport på ca 4 km till Öns norra del. Efter ha relativt stor erfarenhet av resande över hela världen är min sammanlagda bedömning att jag förväntar mig mer av ett boende i den här prisklassen från ett fristående hotell ej bundet till en kedja. Det som drar ner betyget ytterligare är att för USD 300/natt förväntar jag mig att frukost ingår och inte debiteras med ytterligare USD 25/dag.

We enjoyed our stay here very much however there were definitely a few things we weren't fond of. Check in was easy enough, I had upgraded our room to a ocean view deluxe room and based on several sites we should have had a mini bar in the room but we didn't. When I brought it up to the front desk they said that only ocean front rooms get them but assured me they would bring one to the room that day or the next, they never did. The phone in our room didn't work, they didn't fix that either. We had the all-inclusive package but it didn't apply to a lot of the drinks and food items which was annoying, all inclusive should be all inclusive. The restaurant that was included as well was only open 1 of the nights we were there so we had to eat at the cafe the other 3 nights and that menu gets a but tiring as it doesn't change at all. The bar and wait staff were great, very friendly and attentive. The room was big, clean and well laid out however the ocean view was really more of a partial ocean view and you had to actually be out on the balcony to get the ocean view, you couldn't see it from anywhere in the room which was disappointing and felt misleading. The hotel itself was quiet, definitely wasn't full & the pools were clean and comfortable. The beach was small but pretty & well maintained. The last day we were to be picked up at 12:30 and they cut off our all inclusive at 12 dispite saying we could still use it for the last 30 minutes resulting in an extra $$... annoying.

The beds were very comfortable and I could not feel my husband moving, so we slept well, also, great pillows! The music was a little loud till 11 pm. Clean rooms and property, wonderful, friendly responsive staff! The drinks were good but food was ok. Location I would not really recommend as it is so far from the beaches. The private beach there is so small.

The rooms did not have a mini fridge. When asked they said it’s a first come and wound bring one to us if one became available but one was never available. Same thing happened to my friend’s mom who stayed there a few months earlier. It waod be nice to have a fridge in every room.

Check in is at 3pm. I emailed ahead of time that I would be arriving closer to 12:30 & asked if this would be a problem. The reply I received said the room may not be ready but we could access pools and restaurants. Upon arrival, they said we could use the pools but would have to pay for food and drinks until 3:00. I asked for a manager, showed her my email reply, & she said she would allow it to start at 2:00pm. So we sat in the heat, waiting for an hour to order food. Once ordered, it didn’t arrive until after 3:30 & my following up 3 times. Service was SLOW at every location with the staff not acknowledging you for large portions of time. They would answer the phone & ignore the line in front of them. Once when I was next in line to be seated, the hostess began building menus & didn’t acknowledge me or the line forming behind me. This was during the buffet breakfast (no menus needed). Restaurant would open late & staff not be in place daily. Roof top bar would open a hour and a half late. I made reservations at one restaurant & they were written down on a spiral. When we arrived later, they said we’d not made them. I contacted Expedia for assistance and the hotel offered a late checkout. That wasn’t possible as we had to leave to catch a flight. I’ve been to this area more than 30 times. I’ve never left a bad review before. This is the only resort I’ve visited that I would NEVER recommend. Typically this area is known for great customer service. Avoid.

The Staff at IZLA are what make this resort! We thought we were getting an All-inclusive with two Restaurants. However, the All Inclusive and many items are Excluded from the All Inclusive. Also, there was only one restaurant, and we had to order from the menu. We were to celebrate our 36th Anniversary and needed to taxi to town for a special dinner. That being said, the STAFF were the best we have ever had!

I feel this hotel flies under the radar. Seems too good to be true, but it’s true. The staff are phenomenal. Attentive and personable. The hotel is a little dated. If you’re expecting a 5* American resort, this isn’t quite that, but it doesn’t pretend to be either. Great food selection, surprising affordable, and quiet location. I could see sun chairs being hard to find if it’s full, but we didn’t have any issue. You will have to cab to the Centro district, and playa Norte, so keep that in mind. It’s about 10-15$ each ride. You can rent a golf cart across the street a block down, and you can walk 15 minutes to the centre of the island town area, and 20m or so to the rainbow stairs. Overall I’d highly recommend as home base to explore from. The all inclusive package was also a great value. They have a buffet or a la carte, depending on the day, and you can just order anything you want.(just be sure to still tip like you were paying) there are some restrictions for premium brands or lobster, but they offer you a steep discount on those should you wish to order them. 10/10 experience. We plan to go back.

There seemed to be too little staff for the amount of people there. There was only one bartender serving the whole pool. Sometimes you could order food at the bar and sometimes you could not. The buffet in the Izla Café was always the same, it never changed. One time we went to the Numa restaurant and we sat there for about 40+ minutes before having to ask someone if they could please serve us some water. We waited longer than that to get our order taken and we waited about an hour for our food. We sat at 8:50 and we left close to 11p.m. That same night there were 2 other families there in the restaurant with us and at some point one of the families complained about waiting so long to be served not only at Numa but all throughout the hotel. I still dont understand how this is rated at almost 5 stars. My family and I ended up wanting to be anywhere else except the hotel. We paid for an inclusive hotel to be able to relax there. The beach side isn't great, as it is full of sea grass, there is only one little place where you can be, everything else has sea grass. Our trip was amazing but the hotel stay was really awful! K

The room was okay, not very clean. Bed was comfortable. The staff super friendly. We did not have all inclusive so drinks and food were very pricy. I liked the location, you can walk to restaurants in the area. If you have small children they will love the little beach. I personally wished they clean the bottom the there would be more sand. I do not recommend staying.

Just an amazing experience!! The staff and hotel were 10 star ⭐️ It was my families first time staying here and we visit the Island every year. We got the all inclusive which was perfect for the 3 kids to eat all day long! Top notch service! We will be back !!!!

I liked that the hotel was not too big or too small, and it was very clean. It’s nice that the hotel is not too big because you can easily and quickly walk to the restaurant or to the pool. The air conditioner kept the room nice and cool, and all the rooms had a view of the ocean. I would stay here again. Just know that nothing is really within walking distance, so you need to take a taxi or drive a golf cart to get around.

This pretty is a couple miles away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We rented a golf cart for the duration of our stay, and found getting around the small island safe, and convenient. We were there during the off season 9/13-9/18 and had no issue parking right in front of the hotel.

My stay was exactly what I needed. It's a little out of the way but thats what I wanted. The hotel was clean and the accommodations met all of our needs. I would definitely stay at Izla Hotel again

Izla is amazing. We will be returning. We stayed with our children and it was safe, clean, and gorgeous. The pool is excellent and the beach access is a dream. I much prefer the south end of the island. A bit removed from the hustle of the north end, quiet and peaceful but only a 15 min cart of ride into the busier area. stay here. Get a cart. You won’t regret it.

We loved this property. We have stayed all of isla mujeres and this was our first time on this side of the island. We actually found it very walkable to many good restaurants and beach clubs. We’d gladly visit again. Staff was very friendly and kind.

Pool and beach access was great. The hotel probably doesn’t mist for mosquitoes, they weren’t terrible and we had packed appropriately. 1/2 mile walk to nearest cafe outside the hotel, worth the walk which was pleasant. Not much to see/do close to the hotel.

Good clean hotel with everything you would need. The staff are excellent. Property is far away from the main downtown area. You would need a golf cart or daily taxi if you wanted to go shopping or to eat out.

It is a nice average place to stay. You would expect a little more with all inclusive compared to other all-inclusive resorts we been to. It was only one dining room that was open, and it got really old ordering from the same menu. It’s a decent place to stay for a night or two max.

The drink tickets were a scam. It’s does not say doesn’t include alcohol when purchasing. Peso markup at the hotel does not align with daily national posting (to their favor of-course). Pay with Peso’s or you’ll get taken advantage of. Kind of dead and boring hotel. 20 min cab ride from down town so prepare for that or rent a golf cart for $100 usd per day. The food at the hotel was terrible and took forever so it’s not worth the all-inclusive. You will want to eat outside of the resort anyway. The authentic food downtown is great. Drinks at the hotel are watered down but most resorts are. I give this resort a D-.

We stayed at Izla Hotel for 5 nights and did the all inclusive option. All of the staff were really great, always so kind and attentive. If you can plan to be patient, you will enjoy the service. Not one bad encounter. Our room was cleaned daily and had no issues with that. The rooms were nice and had all we needed, we don’t ever plan to spend much time in our rooms. The beach is not the best. They do a nice job keeping the beach clean so it does look nice for the most part! The water itself is not the greatest, but knew we would be taking taxis to Playa Norte so it was acceptable for what we wanted. We found the drinks to be good; we only drank the beer and liquor that was part of the AI package and I will say I only had 1 drink I did not enjoy. The food was ok. Breakfast buffet met our needs, the lunches were the best of the food including the club sandwich, nachos, tacos and quesadillas. We didn’t find much we liked at dinner but we made do. There are plenty of great restaurants on the island if you want to venture out. We are pretty laid back in our traveling so we really did find this property to meet our needs. We know there are maybe “nicer” options but for the price it really was a great option for us and we still got to enjoy the island!

The all-inclusive wasn't the best. The onsite hotel Numa was not open, even though I emailed two days prior to check in and was assured that it would be. The room and facilities was nice and clean. However, since we purchased the all inclusive package we were expecting a bit more variety when it came to food. They had 1 restaurant open the entire time and menu was the same EVERYDAY. You can imagine how redundant that can be for 5 days with the same food options. And it wasn’t like they had a huge list to choose from. There was another restaurant that the staff said was open for dinner (Italian) but they never opened during our 5 day stay. Needless to say we were very disappointed.
