The Oakwood Inn is a very nice place to stay! Clean rooms, wonderful staff, warm and cozy, and excellent breakfast. I really liked the family room in the basement where you can gather with friends or family and visit. I like how tea and coffee were always available. It felt like being in your own home. It's easy to get to and has a nice backyard/nature setting. The only thing I didn't care for was the music that played in the dining room most of the day that I could hear in my room that was over the dining room. I would definitely stay there again but I will reserve a room further away from the dining room. Otherwise, a very nice place!!

I love the peace and quiet of this charming bed-and-breakfast also loved that it was adults. Only the rooms were beautiful and spacious and the food was pretty good too. I don’t care for ham in any of my breakfast, but I just picked it out of my breakfast. great selection of coffee, tea, hot, chocolate, I love the peace and quiet of this charming bed-and-breakfast also loved that it was adults. From the moment we walked in, the Oakwood Inn was so inviting! Doug & Mari (Innsitters) could not have been more kind. Their cookies, coffee and breakfasts were delicious! Enjoyed sitting in rockers on front porch in the mornings and reading in the backyard. The Inn always had a pleasant smell, and loved the sheets so much I have to order. Our room was spacious and appreciated the bathroom amenities. Thank you.

Bridget & Bill are wonderful hosts and always willing to help with anything around the inn or make suggestions for off the property. The property itself is lovely as are the rooms. It backs up to a nature area with paths right up to the inn property for walks or bike rides. The property grounds are beautifully landscaped with several large sitting areas. Each room also has its own outdoor table & chairs. Bridget’s breakfasts are truly something to write home about! All in all, a great place to stay.

What a lovely place to stay! From the fresh cookies and warm greeting we received upon arrival, to the clean and inviting accommodations, to the delicious breakfasts, to the quiet and peaceful surroundings, we felt delighted by the opportunity to come away from our busy schedules and rest and relax. Bridget and Bill went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! I travel ALOT for work, and rarely have time to leave reviews for each place, but this one is a MUST. Beautiful, super clean and well-appointed rooms, idyllic setting, staff (Sue) was wonderful, and the breakfast was delicious - I highly recommend the owner's egg bake recipe. I was even greeted by the local deer population at the front entrance upon arrival. It was a welcome change from generic hotel rooms. My room had a working fireplace and hot tub, which was a much appreciated in Iowa winter after a 6 hour drive. I can't wait to be back in this area for another stay. May need to bring the hubby for a nice romantic weekend getaway this summer, and explore the beautiful grounds!

This was the most restful overnight stay ever! Drove up from the Des Moines area to hear my Sons band so we were road weary when we arrived. We had time to rest, freshen up and make the show. After the concert we all had a great time in the den. Sleep came effortlessly. We awoke to a fab breakfast. Check out was easy and without rush. We would repeat this stay if we got the chance *****
