BEWARE - you will not be staying at the Sahara Beach when booking this property. That hotel is under major construction and has been for a long time by the looks of the property. I have no idea how Expedia is still allowing this hotel owner to advertise rooms at a hotel that is out of commission to the public. Instead, you’ll be staying in a hotel 2 buildings over called the Days Inn Thunderbird. The hotel is a complete dump, extremely dated and should’ve been demolished 10 years ago. We arrived mid afternoon to a line of angry people all complaining about the place and questioning why they were not staying in the hotel they booked and paid for. Completely legitimate grounds for complaint. Unfortunately we were staying over Miami boat show weekend and alternative options at a similar price were non-existent by the time we arrived at the hotel or else we would have requested a refund and left. Summary of stay as follows: Cons - hotel is ghetto, rooms antiquated and unclean, open wifi doesn’t work in most of the building, staff miserable and unhelpful likely due to incessant complaints from guests, shower pressure resembles a plastic water pistol, bath towels so old/ worn they’re essentially shop rags for an oil change, carpets filthy, old and disgusting - bring an extra pair of sliders/slippers Pros - comfy bed, great balcony view from poolside rooms, AC works, beach towels and sun beds incl.
