I rarely write reviews, so this is a first for me. I’ve had my share of disappointing travel experiences, but never one that pushed me to speak out—until now. The gap between the advertisement and what you actually receive is astonishing. The property is old, poorly maintained, and gives off an overall feeling of neglect. The roofs are covered with overgrowth, the lobby furniture was dirty, and several pieces had dead flies on them. There is no air conditioning anywhere except inside the rooms. Normally that wouldn’t bother me, but the lobby and bar area are so uninviting—there’s a bar, yet no bartender, no atmosphere, nothing welcoming. When we arrived at our rooms, both had views of neighboring properties filled with garbage and hanging laundry. The photos online showed a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean, which is why I booked two “poolside” rooms. In reality, the rooms were nowhere near the pool in the photos. Instead, there was only a tiny sliver of a small pool outside the room, again with a view of the same garbage. The TV didn’t work, there was no coffee in the room, and there was no small store or even a basic snack area. We had to go downstairs behind the bar and make our own coffee. For a property advertised as relaxing and scenic, the experience was the exact opposite. We booked two nights, but we were so disappointed we left after one night. I could list more issues, but you get the picture. This stay was deeply disappointing and far from what was promised.

First off the staff was friendly and helpful. The issue is the building is falling apart and obviously underfunded. The grounds are being swallowed up by the jungle, paint peeling off everywhere and nothing to do on the grounds. The room was big and clean with a small private pool with a comfortable bed

Overall, we had a good experience. The room was spacious, very clean, and well maintained. The towels and bed linens smelled fresh, and the private plunge pool was also clean. The room itself exceeded our expectations. The property, however, could use some maintenance. It's a beautiful old hacienda with a lot of character, but many of the common areas feel worn and in need of upkeep. The beach club was a highlight—the pool was fantastic—but the clubhouse itself was in poor condition and appeared somewhat neglected. One thing to keep in mind is that the hacienda and the beach club are quite far apart, so having a car is highly recommended. Despite the property's need for renovations, we enjoyed our stay and had a positive overall experience.

Love the pool, great views from the pool to the beach, easy access to the beach. The staff was amazing. My room had its own mini pool.
