What guests think

Reviews of SpringHill Suites by Marriott Dayton Vandalia describe generally clean, comfortable, recently updated suites and very friendly staff, with many praising spacious layouts and a decent breakfast, while noting inconsistent housekeeping, occasional maintenance issues, and mixed breakfast quality.

Several guests singled out staff members by name for exceptional help, though others reported communication problems, understaffing, slow or inflexible responses, and a check in system outage. Facilities such as the bar and small pool are appreciated, but reviews note occasional pool closure or upkeep issues, broken or unavailable laundry machines, and sporadic room design shortcomings like limited outlets or worn furniture. Good for short stays and family stopovers, but double check amenity status and housekeeping expectations in advance.

The property itself is nice. There was a used condom in my closet, but the front desk person was very helpful in resolving the issue. They are poorly understaffed. Breakfast was poor - there wasn’t enough food for the guests and they didn’t/wouldn’t restock. There were no towels in the pool so we had to get our own. The pool was also very cloudy/poorly maintained. If they got appropriate service staff, this hotel could really be great.

Room was large, clean, and pretty. Pool was nice. Breakfast was very disappointing, though. Not a lot of options especially with kids. Waffle machine was broken (I understand things happen), but the alternative was stale bagels and gluten free muffins.

The multiple beds suite was perfect for our traveling party of 4 adults and 2 children. The walk-in closet was great for storing bags out of the way and having a separate changing area. The room was nice and comfortable. Most everything was clean except the trundle pull-out, (I think it was missed during room cleaning but we didn’t need to use it so we didn’t bother the staff about it.) The couch was comfortable to sleep on. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The lounge/breakfast area was well stocked and accommodating. The pool was on the small side but good enough for a quick refresh. All in all we had a very relaxing and positive experience. We would definitely stay again.

Not the greatest part of town-Fairfield Commons in nicer. This was fine. COMPLAINT:not posting online, through booking apps, or on your website that the pool is out of service is unacceptable. Vacationers look for this amenity and book accordingly. POOL & HOT TUB, GYM, and OUTDOOR FIRE PIT SEATING-all vacation amenities expected in Springhill Stuites by Marriott Hotels, if they are unavailable guests should see that before booking no matter how or what method they use to book the reservation.

Not worth the nearly 600 for 3 nights worth it.. if u have a baseball team

Room and public area was clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. We dropped our son’s blankie when we checked out. When I called the hotel Ashley answered and without a second of hesitation asked the room number and where we were parked, she put me on hold and found it immediately! She went above and beyond. It was as folded behind the desk with my name on it. Thank you Ashley! You saved the day!

Ran down property. Literally falling apart. Room was dirty, tables in room dirty, old furniture and dirt on carpet, stained towels, scratched walls on the halls. Never again. On top of that the bathroom wooden frame door fell on my head injuring me. Horrible stay. Should have known when at check in they handed me the extra towels and bedding I asked for instead of taking them to my room. We had to go up juggling suitcases, towels and bedding. No customer service at all.

Front Desk Personnel's ability to clearly communicate was a major issue at check-in. Hallway smelled like a mixture of curry & sewage on the floor booked. For the price of the room; the room was small, was not maintained, and lacked several amenities. Overall, the accommodations are the same level as a 70's Motel that's had lipstick slapped on it.

We checked in late and not already having a sheet on the pull out bed was frustrating. When asked for a sheet the front desk informed us they are being washed and wont be ready until 2am. I cant wait that long to put an 8 year old to bed. Also, not allowing a late checkout because we used a 3rd party site to book the hotel makes no sense.

We were unable to check-in upon arrival due to their computer system being down. Left to get food. When we came back an hour later the system was still down. They could not give us an estimate as to when the problem would be resolved. It was getting late and we were tired after traveling all day. We booked another room at a nearby hotel. Springhill Suites refused to refund our money. Extremely disappointing!
