Our stay was very good. We enjoyed the area although we did not have a lakeside room. Doing day trips in the surrounding area gave us an opportunity to see the Bay de Noc beach and Tequamenon State park and the georgeous waterfall that is in that park. We ended up with a handicapped room, which I don't think I requested, but it was nice that my husband did not have to step over the side of a tub to shower. The floor in the shower was a bit slippery so we were very careful when showering. Our room could have used 1 more lamp in the corner by the TV. There was a very useful dresser there but the corner was dark. We would recommend The Terrace to anyone who wants to stay in a place that is unique and a bit upscale and is not a run of the mill chain hotel. The dinners we had at the onsite restaurant were very good and the wait staff was excellent.

Stayed 1 night

We were disappointed in this hotel. We were truly looking forward to our stay, but to our surprise, we were in an EXTREMELY old part of the hotel that is not shown in any of the images on any site. Our room LOOKED like the picture, it's been well lived in and felt very cheap when we walked in. The paint was coming off places on the walls, the couch in our King Suite was sunken in and uncomfortable. Our "balcony" was a stoop that was directly next to the service kitchen and overlooked a marshy grassy part of the bay. Our sink faucet was very discolored with a rust color, didn't want to brush our teeth it was so grimy. Black was all along the shower base tiles and we had we s in many room corners. The pain on trim on the outside of the building was peeling off and there was some sort of mouse/rat trap as we walked in the side door. The restaurant was very loud and smelled very fishy so we left. I would also like to add that the Bigby coffee shop has a drive thru that runs right in front of the lobby, so you have to go thru that traffic to get into the building...weird. When we arrived the hotel staff was eating pot stickers at the front desk, not professional at all. Just beware if you choose a room other than the new portion.
