The hotel makes a wonderful first impression. The outside is beautiful, with lush, well-kept lawns, and the inside is just as attractive. The hallways and carpeting are beautiful, so I was really looking forward to seeing the room. Unfortunately, the room itself was a big letdown. Part of the flooring near the door was torn apart and in obvious need of repair. After seeing how well maintained and attractive the exterior and common areas were, I was surprised by the condition of the room. Breakfast was also disappointing. I have never seen bacon sliced so thin, and it wasn't cooked crisply. The eggs had very little flavor. I thought you couldn't go wrong with a waffle, but I was mistaken. It was pretty flavorless as well. The highlight of breakfast was actually the hot tea. I love Red Diamond tea, and this is the first hotel I've stayed in that offered Red Diamond instead of Lipton. Kudos for that! Overall, this is a beautiful property that makes a great first impression, but the condition of the room and the quality of the breakfast didn't live up to the rest of the hotel.
