What guests think

At Courtyard by Marriott Morgantown, travelers consistently praise very clean rooms, friendly staff, and scenic views, along with a convenient location near WVU and highways, making it a comfortable stop for campus visits, events, or road trips.

Amenities like the warm pool, outdoor patio and fire pit, and ample parking stand out. Dining is a common gripe: the bistro or bar can be closed or limited, breakfast is not complimentary, and prices feel high despite some guests enjoying the food and drinks. Rooms feel modern and often spacious, but bed comfort varies and occasional in-room or maintenance issues pop up. Expect a clean, friendly stay with a few trade-offs.

We were visiting Morgantown for a college visit at WVU. We had a five-year-old and a 17-year-old with us. The highlight of the hotel for our 5-year-old was the pool. The pool is small but otherwise it was superior to most other hotel pools. It was a saltwater pool and the water and the air in the pool area were warm. The highlight for our 17-year-old was the fire pit and the view. It's beautiful. I was confused about the restaurant because it never looked open. At this point I'm still not sure whether it was ever actually open. However, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area that we didn't really need to use it.

As requested we stayed on the east side of the building overlooking the river and downtown. The BEST VIEW OF ANY HOTEL I've stayed at. The back lounging patio was SO beautiful and peaceful. We put our feet up, listened to the birds and relaxing music......and watched the clouds go by. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise, too. Staff were great. Amenities very nice, too. Very pleased.

The bed was worn. The shower had a leak and there was a small amount of water on the floor surrounding shower. The shower floor was chipped.there we’re side mirrors on each side of be which was weird and they were chipped. They do not provide eye makeup remover or have dispensers for hand soap or lotion. They are behind the times for this price point and for claiming to be a three star hotel.

I have stayed at quite a few Hotels in Morgantown, WV and this is one of the best ones. Clean, courteous staff, and great facilities. We even showed up a few hours early (because of a medical emergency with my grandson) and they allowed us to check in!! They even asked us every day how our grandson was feeling! So again, this is one of the best!
