New Haven Inn

This is an amazing boutique hotel. We had a lovely room with a comfortable bed. The door was on the side (not next to any other room) so it was a private entrance. It only shared a wall with one other room and our bathroom was that wall so it was private and very quiet. There was a sofa and table as well as a small patio with two chairs, which was great to get some work done. The refrigerator in the room was much larger than the standard small hotel refrig and it also had a small freezer section - appreciated this. The coffee provided for the in-room coffee machine was much better than typical coffee provided in hotels. Location was perfect - close enough to talk to the shops but not in the middle of the tourist section. The only suggestion is it would have been nice to have a fan in the room (instead of the pretty chandelier) for air circulation as the a/c unit was loud for sleeping. It did have windows across from one another which provided some cross air circulation but it was hot while we were there. Appreciated the refrigerator of cold water by the office that was available to the guests - that was a very nice perk!! Great hotel!

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. The beds were very uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The upstairs TV kept turning on and off and was not usable, and the microwave also did not work. We also found spiders in the room, which was concerning from a cleanliness standpoint. Overall, several basic amenities were not functioning properly, and the room did not feel as comfortable or clean as we expected.

It was a great! It is a very small Inn with not very many rooms which to me is a plus. It was quite but still within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in Solvang.
