Breakfast was good. Pool was unusable. Water green and cloudy both days. We paid for an executive King suite. We were expecting walk in shower from the pictures we viewed. Just a small tub with shower. Moved to a smelly handicap room with 2 queen beds but it had a handicap shower. I just need to call the hotels myself to prevent this from happening again.

Its a new facility with uptodate amenities, including abundant parking, large breakfast area with a good breakfast, comfortable bedding, fridge coffeemaker and microwave in room, gym and an outdoor pool. No hot tub. The one gripe we had: we called the hotel before booking and the front desk confirmed that the pool was heated, but upon arrival, found the pool to be cold. Front desk promised to look into it but several hours later, the pool and the water jets remained cold. Perhaps, due to low occupancy that night, the heater was not turned on. However, had we known that, we would have booked elsewhere.

The main wall behind the beds looked hilariously patched from previous water damage. It looked like water had leaked from the ceiling and there was still damage visible but there was a patchwork of wallpaper squares to cover the damage that was more fit for a Motel 6. Also the shower head was clogged partly spraying on the curtain which flooded the bathroom. The pool was comfortable but def needed to be cleaned. Good breakfast and very friendly staff was the best part

Did a great job handling the full hotel for TXST freshman move-in weekend. Decent Breakfast options. Hallways were so hot and muggy but room felt great. This is our go-to place when visiting San Marcos :)

The front desk staff were very friendly and sweet. The hotel had a good breakfast with various options, complimentary water, and the place was very clean. The beds and pillows were not very comfortable to me because they weren’t very firm. They also don’t do house keeping like making the beds cleaning the bathroom if you don’t stay for a minimum of 3 nights which was extremely odd to me as I’ve stayed in lower rated cheaper hotels and never had that be an issue. Wasn’t expecting that from a higher rated hotel. Also one of their elevators was broken the entire stay so it would take a little bit for us to go up and down. Parking was hard the first night. There weren’t a lot of options as it was full but didn’t have issues the next night. Overall location was nice and easy to get to Texas state university, food, and shops. Right off of 35.

Wonderful large room with comfortable king bed and desk area. Two TVs in the room. One visible from the bed and one on the desk. Room included microwave and bathroom has a vent to reduce steam. Our favorite feature was the included breakfast. It was top notch!!

The night clerk has always been friendly and helpful. We stay at the Fairfield about every 4 to 6 weeks. We usually have a late check in. After a long drive to get to San Marcos, he gets us checked in fast and easy.

The overall area inside the hotel was sort of dirty. The staff at the front desk wasn't friendly. She seemed she wasn't happy to have us. The room right in above our room had somebody running around the whole night. And even if we already called the front desk to complain about the noise, it still continued throughout the night. To make things worse, the room right before our room had somebody who kept on banging on the wall which was right where the head of our bed was. I didn't sleep at all that night. The breakfast served in the morning wasn't good. Bagels were plain, egg omelets had were tasteless, juice was watered down, there was very little food variety to choose from. It's a good thing we were only there overnight. I was only miserable for 1 night.

We booked a double queen room and they put us in a king bed with sofa bed room. The reason given for tbe change was that we used Hotels.com to book the room and the room wasn't available when it was booked, but no message was sent informing us of any change. Front desk manager was a bit snooty and unapologetic, just "that is why you should book directly with us."

The hotel admitted that they had over booked and had given away our reservation for a room with a king sized bed. In fact, this happened to at least three other reservations. They moved our reservation to a room with two beds. The room has multiple electrical outlets that didn’t work and the pillows on the bed are small squares. We had stayed at this hotel in the past, but not again.

This is perfect for a quick weekend or for passing through. They offer a property right off 35 which is in proximity to Texas State Tubes - which is why we came to San Marcos, to float the river. There was an ice machine right next to our room and even though we were close to the elevators - relatively zero noise / loudness. The room was clean with a few minor exceptions like the shower still having water stains on the glass. Almost like you couldn’t really tell it had been cleaned. However, it didn’t feel dirty overall and the rest of the hotel is maintained. Glenny I think was our receptionist and she was so kind, courteous & efficient. Overall, this is a great budget stay in proximity to many restaurants and activities. 8/10

Olivia at reception was wonderful Great location for TX State visitors Nearby restaurants. 10 minutes to campus Wonderful staff. Decent breakfast. All day free coffee. 1 TV in our room didn't work for the two fays we were there. The other TV worked intermittently. Staff said the techs were working on it, two days, seriously 😳. Decent pool n gym Excellent parking

Front desk wrote down the wrong door number but it happens sometimes. A gentleman with a vacuum was extremely helpful, he was the best. Quiet area but nothing really within walking. And it's on a one way road so access is frustrating but totally possible. Excellent view of trees. Clean and comfortable.
