Adventures on the Gorge

What guests think

Guests at Adventures on the Gorge praise clean cabins, friendly service, and many on-site activities and amenities near New River Gorge, while several note bed comfort issues such as squeaky, wobbly, or overly soft mattresses in some units.

The setting works well for rafting and New River Gorge National Park access, with trails and boardwalks to bridge views and much of the property walkable, though a few guests preferred driving within the resort. Other notes include occasional housekeeping misses, unclear check-out details, and surprise at shared-cabin setups and self-trash policies. Expect an activity-rich, nature-focused resort experience with plenty to do and a few practical quirks.

It was so clean and peaceful. I loved that the property ambiance gives you that woodsy/cabin feel but it contains very clean and high-quality grounds. Staff at reception was helpful. Note that you may need a car to navigate within the resort, meaning from your cabin to the check-in building and pool areas.

Great for families. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Onsite activities were awesome and staff/West Virginia folks were the nicest people. Fayetteville town was great and we enjoyed Cathedral for breakfast and Cantrall’s for chili dogs. Hotel would be beyond perfect if they added a hot tub and game room for kids! But really it’s perfect!!!

A fantastic and peaceful getaway surrounded by nature I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The area is absolutely beautiful – peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. What stood out most was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. From check-in to check-out, the staff were always friendly, helpful, and courteous, making me feel right at home. There's no shortage of attractions either. The area is full of attractions and great opportunities for activities, whether you enjoy hiking, cycling, or simply sightseeing. Nearby restaurants and shops also offer a wide selection, so there's something for everyone. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing yet active getaway in the great outdoors.
