Many appreciate the quiet setting near Lake Michigan and convenient access for fishing or local sights, though a few found nearby dining options limited at times. Some basic rooms feel dated and have awkward bathroom lighting, while suites are described as larger and nicer. Expect a simple, quiet stay with basic comforts and varied room types.

Very clean room, very neat facility. The room had a fridge, TV, and outlets next to the bed to plug in your phone. There is a gift shop which I did not peruse. Very close to restaurants and shopping as well as the world's largest grandfather clock! I would stay here again.

The staff at this motel were so kind and friendly!!! Check-in was fast and easy. Based on the previous high rviews i read of this location, my expectations were high, but the actual room experience wasn't the best. Our first room had a terrible odor to which the front desk staff were very sorry for. They showed us 2 other rooms, one with the same smell, the other very old and musty!! The 4th room was a suite on the second floor in the larger building. It smelled old but wasn't pungent like the others, so we took that room at no extra cost. This room is further away from the highway so very quiet. The room was large, beds comfy with a great second floor view at the back veranda! There's no pool, breakfast or restaurant on the property. This motel is overpriced for the age and quality of it, and seems like a further walking distance to the lake than described. We wouldn't stay here again.

Nice hotel, little pricey and I didn't like that you have to walk half way across the parking lot for ice. There should be one on the second level. However we would stay again if needed.

Easily accessible, my husband is handicapped. Owner is friendly, wanting to help. We both slept well on the beds and the surrounding area is very quiet. However, The microwave tray did not turn around in the microwave so we had to do this manually. We were offered a new microwave on the last day. We were left with two cleaning rags instead of face cloths. This was remedied when I went to ask the cleaning ladies for face cloths. The room was never tidied, nor were the towels changed during our three nights stay, as had been promised. When these concerns were voiced to the male owner of the hotel, he offered no discount or any solution. His wife was more helpful, but we would’ve appreciated a discount. It was too expensive for what we got.

Basic motel room, not fancy, but very clean and in great condition. Front desk service (Kai) super friendly and efficient! Walls a bit thin, so adjacent noise noticable, but over all a pleasant stay. Restaurant in town, The Ballering, although pricey, has an excellent perch fish fry, and the baked Brie with cherry compote appetizer is one not to miss!

The hotel was in a convenient location for our trip and easy to find. Our room was clean and well maintained. I did not care for the lighting for the bathroom area. It was very bright and there was only one switch for the bathroom and vanity area, which made the rest of the room really bright for others still sleeping. The payment was confusing to me. The property owners said that I owed the first night’s payment, even though I had booked it through Orbitz. But I did not get the two charges on my credit card to add up to what it said I paid in the app.

Standard Motel rooms need renovation. No toilet seat cover in a very tiny bathroom. Door to outside(parking lot) not sealed with visible gaps top and mostly bottom. Shades were inadequate to block the parking lot lights and sunlight. Stayed in Suites before which are nicer…lesson learned.

We stayed in the basic twin queen room. The check-in was smooth and effortless. Young lady behind the desk was polite and helpful for dinner options. We were there to sleep as we were headed out on a charter the next morning for fishing. Goofy set-up for bathroom lighting. The light switch for the shower/toilet room was the same as the sink - so when you turned it on most of the room was lit. Seems minor, but to see where to pee - you basically woke everyone up. Otherwise, good stay. Prompt check out by 11a.m. - no exceptions. Probably would stay again; but check out a suite instead of the basic room.

The air conditioner was not working well so sleeping wasn’t very comfortable. Not a lot of choices for dinner close by.
