What guests think

At Baymont by Wyndham Erie, travelers frequently praise the friendly front-desk team and convenient location just off I‑90 across from the casino, with many finding rooms spacious and comfortable for short stays at a reasonable price.

Cleanliness is inconsistent, with repeated mentions of moldy or poorly cleaned bathrooms, stained or worn linens, and empty soap dispensers, though some guests report very clean rooms. Breakfast feedback is mixed: while several guests enjoyed it, many found the area crowded or understocked, with items cold, missing, or not replenished. Facilities show maintenance gaps such as out-of-service elevators, ice machines, and laundry, no pool, and an occasionally unavailable casino shuttle. Expect a budget-friendly, convenient stop with friendly staff but variable upkeep.

A little more options for breakfast would be nice. What was available was good. During our stay there was issues with the elevators. One elevator was working but not the greatest. The carts that are provided to use, the tires are in really bad shape and need replaced. Very hard to maneuver. The rooms were clean except in the bathroom. Behind the door in the corners is caked with dirt and hair. The bathroom door was dirty with black marks and splash of some sort of liquid. Either wipe down or repainting would be good. Other than that it was a good stay.

It is good location, directly across from the entrance to the casino/downs and not far from shopping and restaurants. Its close to the highway and although the description didn't indicate that breakfast was included, they did have free breakfast daily which was a great way to start your day early and head out to site see. This is a very noisy property internally. There were no toiletries to wash your hands, etc. The floor did not look like they had been vacuumed or carpet cleaned in the room. The hotel itself is fine. It is not the newest, but it not dirty or run down. I had problems with getting tv channels to work. I tried replying to a text to ask about it but no one ever responded to my message (over a two night stay). I tried streaming on my own laptop and also experienced problems (couldn’t actually watch any programming). Usually I wouldn’t care but I was traveling alone and was bored.

Ok for just a night but wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer. The rooms are pretty outdated and the sink area for the bathroom is very small. Sheets smelled clean and the carpet wasn’t bad. The bathroom had dirt and grime caked in the corners. The pillows were so old they had turned into just lumps of stuffing. I’m not sure what was above us but we heard loud banging snd scraping well into the night.

We stay at this hotel 3-4 times a year because it is in a good location for visiting our family. We have noticed over the last year that the hotel’s services and amenities have declined. Ex: On our last 3 visits, our room has not been ready when we arrived. Check in is at 3:00 but when arriving after 4:00 it still isn’t ready. Also, the same ice machines have been broken since our visit in August of 2024 along with the guest laundry machines. You would think they would have been repaired over a 7 month period of time. Also, the key cards to our room were deactivated everyday so we would have to go to the front desk to have them reactivated. Finally, house keeping isn’t very good at doing their job. We had to go ask for towels and toilet paper which has been the norm for the past several stays. We are disappointed since we like the location and we like the way the hotel used to be so we hope they will make some positive changes.

Check-in was not good. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 3:30 even we had reservations. We were told to come back in 45-50 minutes. When we did get to our room the key cards wouldn’t work so we had to go back to the front desk. On the second day of our stay, our room was never attended to. We had to go to the front desk to ask for fresh towels and toilet paper. While at the front desk, another person was also asking for clean towels since her room had not been attended to either.

Check-in was an absolute nightmare. Room wasnt ready by 20 minutes after check-in time. Lobby was full of people I assume this was also happening to. Whatever, left and came back after 8pm to no one manning the desk to check-in once again. For a hotel right across from a casino, also during a huge college graduation weekend, youd think they'd have more than one person working. Nope. Another 15 minutes to finally get our room. We also appear to have been charged an extra $100, which we're hoping was just an extra deposit of some kind so we dont have to fight a chargeback. Grateful to never need to stay here again.

This is the third time we’ve stayed at this hotel in the last year but it will most likely be the last. The second time we stayed we had family with us and we had 3 different rooms. 2 of our rooms didn’t have enough towels and when we asked for more we were told there weren’t any. When we checked in this time there was only 1 towel in our room. I went to the front desk and asked for more and I was told they would try to find some. I went back later and was given 2 towels that were the smallest bath towels I’ve ever seen in my life. I don’t feel that we should have to share towels when we don’t even do that at home. Do better!
