Property decor was great, lobby and dining as well, breakfast was skimpy which is understandable with the days light attendance, fresh fruit would have been a plus, even if its just bananas, mattress was worn out but all else was clean and adequate for our stay.

Meeting a friend from across Texas. We had a decent meal at Central Station Bar & Grill just minutes away. Took in a movie at the Grand. Spent the next day at the Black Gold. Pool is clean . We grilled steaks poolside on the charcoal grill. Staff made sure our room was close to the pool for this. The free hot breakfast was not awesome: Biscuits only1 morning, and no gravy. The place is clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The price, even on a holiday weekend was exceptional. The staff friendly and eager to help. We would come back.

I really appreciated that there was a mirror with outlets & counter outside bathroom allowing for more than 1 person to get ready. Great to be able to park right outside your room & well lit at night

The hotel staff on both days were very friendly. We have stayed her many times over the years, but was disappointed this trip. The towels are old, thin, and small. I wanted to get a quick workout done in the hotel the first evening. Luckily, I had a mat to exercise on. There were shoeprints on the floor that did not match any of our shoes. The floor was very dirty. There was some trash on the bathroom floor as well. The beds were comfortable and the "kitchen area" was appreciated though.

A small town hotel that doesn’t live up to the price it charges. Towels are dingy, bed spreads look clean on the surface but are old and overused. My brother didn’t even have a lock on his door and I know it’s the same room my daughter stayed in last year cause she had the same problem that they said they were going to fix and now it’s a year later with the same problem. Not a lot of options in Yoakum so I guessing that’s why they can be like this.

For not being a chain motel, and being in a very small town I found it to be nice and accomodating. Rooms were big and looked to be freshly renovated with up to date furnishings and comfortable bedding on a nice comfy bed. The only negative is we couldn't get the tv to work in the room (which was not a great big deal for us) as we were in & out, and the after hours noise outside. Our neighbor next to us decided to drink outside by his truck through out the night which lead to loud laughing and roudiness. Also, even if the breakfast was not good at all, we would stay here again if ever in the area. (There's a good Donut shop right down the road that sells yummy, big jalapeno & cheese kolaches.

We stayed here 2 years ago and had an amazing experience. So we decided to stay here again. The manager was rude. We never received house keeping. When I asked for towels I was told we don’t have any. I came to get towels again around 4:30 pm and was told it would be another 4 hours before I could get towels. We had to stay an extra night. Was told it would be $74.99 then I was charged $101.69. I called and ask why I was charged that amount and all they could tell me is I don’t know what to tell you. Rooms are decent for the price. Lights out. Clogged bath tubs. This place has gone down hill the past 2 years. Would not recommend staying here until management is corrected.

Black Gold is the nicest place to stay in Yoakum. The staff is very friendly. However, I’ve stayed here 2 times in last 7 months and both times the floors were dirty. Visible shoe tracks everywhere, so don’t walk around barefoot. Bring your own towels because theirs are thin and old. Also, the coffee in the lobby comes out of a machine and once you see it, you will not drink it.
