Great hotel - clean and comfortable all around. Wonderful bed! We had breakfast outside on the terrace, which was lovely. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the coffee maker in the room, it’s the very cheap kind of coffee that much lower grade motels use. In many other hotels of Fairfield’s standard, Keurig machines are the norm now.

We booked with a reservation of 5 people in the room, they gave us a room that could only sleep 4. Went to ask the front desk what options they had & they said they couldn’t change us to a room that accommodated 5 as it was a 3rd party website we booked through, but they did see that the reservation was for 5 people & the option we chose for room was to accommodate 5 not 4. There was also a really bad smell coming from the microwave.

This is a beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Unfortunately, when we arrived late in the evening after a long drive received an assignment to a room, which was less than we expected. We were on the fourth floor, which was great, but they assigned us to an ADA style room, which was not what I had asked for or needed. Due to the late hour and our exhaustion, we were too tired to ask for them to change our accommodations. It seems to me that the room should’ve been saved for someone who needed it. I didn’t need to look at all of the equipment. The bed was low and uncomfortable. We were disappointed with our one night stay. When we went downstairs for breakfast, the breakfast bar had not been maintained and we had to ask for more provisions. It took a long time for it to be replenished.

It was loud with a dog barking for long periods and you could hear the guests above us. Did not rest well with so much noise. And when I me tioned this to the staff the response was, “sorry”.

Overall it was ok. Staff at breakfast was nice. I had a late check out @12:30. At 12:30, housekeeping was knocking at my door. I was trying to write a note thanking them and also apologizing I didn’t have more cash (it was only $4) and and also finish getting ready to leave. He was very rude. I have never been rushed out of my room in any of the hotels I’ve stayed at. Fairfield was recommended but I will not stay there ever again.

A great hotel stay starts with the check-in. The two ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. If I left and came back I heard "welcome back". Things like that make for a good stay. The hotel was quiet and very clean and the breakfast was good. Will definitely stay here again.

Staff checking us in didn't seem to like their job or want to work too hard. When we finally found our room, it was open and a staff member was inside looking around... Just a weird way to start it all. We paid extra and ordered a nice large king room and they gave us an ADA room with bars and the fold down chair in the bathroom... It seemed like some of the guests were living there long-term. There was a group with lawn chairs smoking in a parking spot and into the grass that hung out long term. Made it feel slightly unsafe. Smoking people just outside the main entrance door, hard to ignore the smoke to walk into the hotel.

My mother in law actually had a fall in the bathroom and Alejandra at the Fairfield in the Dalles went out of her way to help us get to her as her room was locked because she threw the latch. Despite that happening we had a pleasant stay there. Just remember to put rubber mats in the handicapped bathrooms. :) Great service!

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere yet they seem to find good employees and provide a good experience. I wish there was at least one decent restaurant in town but there’s nothin (we’ve tried everything!) - but for a place to stay this is a good stop!

The hotel and staff were very good. Staff went out of their way to change out my feather pillows and offer extra towels. The breakfast was better than most. It was a little difficult to find, especially after dark. There were no restaurants a walkable distance.
