We booked this hotel through Expedia. They have on their website that they have a pool. I called to check and woman at the desk said no there’s no pool. We get there we check in. Get into the room which is disgusting… floor not swept, bed was broken, stuff all over the mirror, smelled horrible, unknown stuff all down the side of the fridge, stuff all over the ceiling. Just nasty. Open the curtains and low a behold there’s a damn pool. It was closed but there was a pool so the woman lied to me. I go to the front desk immediately after going into the room to tell her I can’t stay here with my 3 kids. It’s gross… oh and there’s a pool, you lied. She said no mam no pool. I said whatever. So she says I can put you in another room after I just heard her tell this man on the phone that there were no rooms left. I said no cause it won’t be any better. Then she tells me that in order to get a refund I have to call Expedia. So I go back into the room where I’m on the phone with Expedia for 20 minutes and they say I have to get the refund through the hotel… I go to the font desk to tell her and she talks to Expedia.. she ends up saying well it’s been 30 minutes so I have to check the room to see if you used it!!!! Um no I’ve been on the phone the whole time for no reason…. She checks the room in 2 seconds goes back and says I’ll refund but it will take 4 days to come back cause you been in the room too long. Which I needed that money to book another hotel so I was screwed. Never again!!

Safety concern: I checked in while my family waited in the car, when reception gave me my card, she said the number out loud instead of pointing to it. This is a major safety concern. If you exit to the backyard, you will get locked outs the gate is locked so you will have to knock until someone lets you back in. Entire place seems like it had basic cleaning, but really needs a deep cleaning. The walls of the room were filthy, the floors were not very clean, there was hair in the sink drain, someone had clearly spilled something down the front of the kitchen cabinets and it had not been cleaned, staining visible on some sheets and duvet, etc.. There is NO ELEVATOR. Be aware of this if you request a second floor room. While it was clear from reading the website ahead of time that there was no breakfast, it was not clear that the kitchenette came with nothing (as far as kitchen plates or utensils go). This could be an easy fix on the website. Surrounding area is convenient, with many restaurants and a Walmart. Not really walking accessible though. Bed is decently comfortable although pillows are terribly thin. Towels are similarly rough and small. Kitchenette had a full-size fridge and freezer though, which was a surprisingly nice bonus. Pretty standard for what I would say is a two star hotel, although they could make improvements in cleanliness and safety.

Our room was a king with kitchenette , very comfortable bed, we only had two small pillows , but when requested , the nice lady at the desk brought more, The kitchenette was great with a full sized refrigerator, nice due to our four day stay, but not equipped, but we had brought utensils and a crockpot. Room service/ cleaning and fresh towels were offered daily. Walmart, Chick Fila, IHOP, Wendy’s, many places to eat nearby. Nice area to run pets and first pet free. Coffee daily in lobby, no breakfast, but with kitchens we used that . No elevator , so ask for first floor room if you can’t do stairs. We would stay again.

This used to be my favorite motel. It had a beautiful backyard with a fountain and gazebos and little patios. They tore all that out. Clothes to pool. No free breakfast. They didn't let me know about this when I made my reservation and I've been going there for years. Thank goodness after my first night they refunded my money for the other 4 days

There are only 2 floors and no elevator. Was a bit of a challenge carrying up bags. The room was comfortable enough however there was a big void where it looks like there was supposed to be an easy chair. The only place to sit was the desk chair. The air conditioning worked great and was quite quiet. The breakfast was quite adequate as well.

The Red Roof Inn Dahlgrin was very nice, it was convient, inexpensive, clean pool, Beautiful back yard space with wood privacy fence, seperate decks with tables,chairs fire pits and charcoal grills with a Beautiful fountian and flowers. I recommend this property

The jacuuzi tub that we paid extra for took almost 45min to fill enough to use and water was not even warm enough to use. We had ordered pizza left box with a few slices left in it sitting on tubs steps, overnite the box became full of ants causing loss of leftovers. Parking lot had a couple decent sized pot holes and garbage was all around the permitter as if no one had cleaned it in months. The cleaning staff was the best part about the stay the 2 ladies were wonderfully nice. Pool wasnt open for use despite the temps well into 80s. Very dissappinting stay coming from 6.5plus hour away. Especially this being next to a mili base i would have expe ted better quality control.

The room was absolutely disgusting. There was mold growing in the AC unit, dirt on the walls, coffee on the walls, stains on the sheets, kiss marks and handprints on the mirror. When I came down to leave after viewing the room another guest was walking in with cleaning supplies and also stating their room was disgusting. After reporting it to the individual at the front desk she stated she did not see anything wrong with the room after inspection. I then showed her the pictures I took for proof with her response “Oh”. If I could rate this hotel at 0 stars I would. It was absolutely disgusting and stunk like cigarettes.

The rooms were very dirty. Bed sheets and covers had stains and it was obvious that they had not changed the sheets from previous guest because there was eye lashes and stains on them. The towels had hair and stains on them. The rooms were not cleaned and when we asked for clean towels and sheets they said they didn't have any because they had not washed yet. They expected us to use the same dirty towels for all three days we stayed there and sleep on filthy bedding.

First room TV didn't work, looked nasty and had roaches crawling around second room a little cleaner still had roaches, window was wide open for some reason and after second nite had to go to front desk and let them know the room was never clean and it needed fresh towels. It was one of the worst experiences I ever had we ended up leaving a day early because of it.

There were cockroach’s on the tv and the floor by the bed . Our room was switched the sheets were dirty as were the towels . Horrible for first timers , we won’t be back .

Rooms were dirty and the sheets were never changed. A guy in 214 complained about bed bugs and our family in 207 had blood on their sheets. The managers are a joke also.if you are booking for the pool, it stays covered and unavailable but that’s the least of my worries. This hotel is disgusting, the room also stinks.( I have way more pictures than posted as well)

Room was a little dirty (hair shavings on toilet, dirt on sheets, etc.) The front cover for the AC unit was ripped off and sitting on the floor. The tv would not turn off and had to be unplugged in order to turn it off. People were loud. It was good for a night but any more than that… good luck.

The price was cheaper than others, but it was a hot mess. I had to change rooms twice an was almost a third time. the first room the TV an phone didn't work, the second room was on the ground floor, the window was broke the gentleman from the front desk an myself managed to get the window secured so I could feel safe. I told him I was too tired to change rooms again. The TV remote was missing the back for the batteries, the air vents on the AC unit were broke, the bathroom door would not latch close from the inside all you had to do was push the door without turning the knob an it came open. The room was a conjoining room to another room. The walls were paper thin you could hear everything making it hard to sleep. Ceiling to sides you heard every conversation an every foot step. Every bathroom trip. Horrible. After the first night I went to leave I ask the girl at the desk can I just get some trash bags only for my room, she said Ok, When I got back from my day I had to go to the front desk for trash bags. I only had the room for two nights, I could not take another night, I checked out Early. This facility needs a lot of repairs. The staff was friendly but that's it. I didn't take pictures i just wanted to go home.

The walls and door between rooms are paper thin. You can pretty much hear people talking in the neighboring room and the staff vacuuming in the neighboring room at 8:30 am. And then, the phone just randomly rings. Why did the room phone ring once around 3 am? And then it rang again about five minutes later...and then about 10 minutes later. The walls and door between rooms are paper thin. You can pretty much hear people talking in the neighboring room and the staff vacuuming in the neighboring room at 8:30 am. And then, the phone just randomly rings. Why did the room phone ring once around 3 am? And then it rang again about five minutes later...and then about 10 minutes later. How to begin..... Day of checking I arrived to the property Red Roof Inn Dahlgren - Naval Base on King George VA and I was told that my reservation was canceled by Hotel.COM. ... I called customer service and the representative that was on the phone stated that my reservation was still active on their system. She called the hotel and they told her that it was canceled at the property because my card was declined. I was told that the manager Yagnesh Mehta ran my credit card and it came declined and that is why my reservation was canceled. So I really became upset because there are 2 versions. The front desk person mentioned that Hotel.com canceled and then when he received the call I was told the manager cancel the reservation. The hotel was packed there was a drag race event and Im pretty sure they sold my room to another guest. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to nobody. I spoke with customer care supervisor Marlon and he took care of me and my family. I do recommend hotel.com for any reservation but not the property.

The room was absolutely filthy and when i told the front desk nothing was done. The shower curtain and towels were dirty. The bed was absolutely filthy inside and outside the bed so I told the lady at the front desk and she handed me sheets and said you can change the sheets. The toilet seat was broken, it came off while I was using the bathroom and yet again when i said something all i was told was that the maintenance man wouldn't be there to fix it until Thursday afternoon and by then we would have already been gone. This stay was absolutely UNACCEPTABLE!! It was the worst stay ever!!! I demand for someone to do something!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST!!

The gentleman who checked us in each time we stayed here was very friendly and helpful. We liked this hotel the first time we stayed and cane back for a week with our dog once we learned they are pet friendly. Very nice clean rooms as well. :)

Our room was a king with kitchenette , very comfortable bed, we only had two small pillows , but when requested , the nice lady at the desk brought more, The kitchenette was great with a full sized refrigerator, nice due to our four day stay, but not equipped, but we had brought utensils and a crockpot. Room service/ cleaning and fresh towels were offered daily. Walmart, Chick Fila, IHOP, Wendy’s, many places to eat nearby. Nice area to run pets and first pet free. Coffee daily in lobby, no breakfast, but with kitchens we used that . No elevator , so ask for first floor room if you can’t do stairs. We would stay again.

Very good value for the price. Good amenities, clean and good service. Some things were a little dated but for $72 per night it is a great deal for a place to crash and walking distance to about anything you need. Overall I'd recommend highly for someone looking for a place to crash for a couple nights.

There was gum or something stuck on one of the bedside lamps. The toilet overflowed and I had a hard time explaining this to the owner (female) due to language barrier. She did walk up stairs so I could show her. All the soda machines were out of order. The juice machine in the lobby didn’t work and at 8:30, there was no coffee made in the lobby. They used to have continental breakfast but she said they only offer that in the summer.

This used to be my favorite motel. It had a beautiful backyard with a fountain and gazebos and little patios. They tore all that out. Clothes to pool. No free breakfast. They didn't let me know about this when I made my reservation and I've been going there for years. Thank goodness after my first night they refunded my money for the other 4 days

Room was very clean and comfortable. Check in was very quick (I reserved ahead of time online). We’ve stayed here many times but they have stopped offering breakfast. Only coffee and tea in the lobby. They now offer alcohol, sodas, alcohol (by the can or bottle) and snacks such as small lunch size bags of chips and candy.

Very disappointed. The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. When we asked for more towels we would get eye rolls. The bathroom vent when you turned the light on sounded like it was going to fall out of the ceiling. The sheets were dirty. The people in the room next to us kept slamming the door and yelling at each other all weekend. The breakfast was not very good and everything was cold or not working. There was no where on the website that the pool was outdoors and closed. The hallways smelled horrible. Will not stay again.

We were disappointed this stay. We had noise above us til 4:00am- no breakfast even though stated. Pillows were not good - property around hotel strewn with garbage bad impression. Refrigerator in room not very clean. Desk was friendly and efficient - we voiced our complaint on check-out and were told they would be dealing with it.

Outside of the customer service….I will NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER BOOK HERE! The rooms were dirty. Hair in the fridge, and the bathrooms. There was toilet paper under the bed. The room had evidence of having had bed bugs, dead ones in the lounge chair, the desk chair was stained and sticking, the back of that chair was think with dust, dirt, pet hair, there was hair in the soap dish of the shower and in the tub, the room smelled awful… stale, the bedspread/comforter was had so many cigarette burns in it, the bedside lamp didn’t work and the cable didn’t work! Moved to another room and again with filth and evidence of having bed bugs and the pet hair, the washcloths were disgusting, WE DIDNT STAY. We cancelled and went somewhere else.

Not what you see in the pictures jet tub had other peoples pubic hairs in the tub and stuck in the jets. Toilet had a disgusting dirty rim inside and out. Not recommended at all
