Poor condition, poor neighborhood, lots of homeless people about (and in hotel). Construction noise late at night. AC didn't work. TV, internet didn't work. No tissues. No coffee or continental breakfast. Pool & hot tub empty and space used for storage. Smoke detector removed from room. Can't believe that Red Lion would have their name on this motel.

The bed was comfortable. However, it's winter and there was only a summer blanked on the bed and no extra blanket in the room. There was "crap" on the headboard (food specs no one had bothered to clean up), no toilet paper in the room when we arrived, no way to control the heat so we'd be warmer due to light weight blanket, crap on some of the walls, broken cupboard doors, no swimming pool (it's mattress storage now as is the hot tub) ... all in all, not an even passable experience. Live and learn I guess.

This hotel is in terrible shape. The door to the room was damaged so was hard to open and close. It also didn't lock properly. The carpet in the room was filthy and the shower curtain was broken. The bed was the only clean spot in the whole room, which considering everything else was okay. The hotel is also in a sketchy area.

This should not be on Expedia. The building is run down. Hand typed signs all over about no guests in your room. Smelled, run down. Most concerning is the area surrounding the building. We did not feel safe for our possessions. Found another place to stay…would not refund even though we turned around and left.

The bed was comfortable, the room a generous size, and the room was relatively clean. However, the Red Lion, Yakima, is old and not maintained well. There are obvious wear marks on the laminate, porcelain (chip and stain), and what I hope was only black ink stains on the sheets. The surrounding area hosts a couple of homeless camp sites and I did not feel safe walking there.

I didn't like the fact it's in the shady part of town. It was also run down the inside looks good in lobby until you got to your room then it was sad and depressing.

This hotel looks nice in the pictures but the reality is VERY different. The hotel says "No Smoking" but the halls and rooms smell of cigarette smoke and there were burn marks on the bedding. There were only 2 bath towels provided though there were 4 of us staying in the room. The "breakfast" was very minimal- like only for show, and wasn't appetizing at all. People were vaping and drinking beer in the lobby when we checked in. There was still soap sitting in the tub when we entered the room and the sink was dirty.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay at, and if given the option again, I would choose to sleep in my car. Cockroaches (dead and alive) in the room, dirt and hair around the sink, debris on the carpets, a mysterious brown goo dripping down the wall, no soap in the bathroom, a brown-stained toilet, and an inexplicable pair of sunglasses in the bed. The whole place smells like weed and cigarettes.

Sheets had holes in them and some stains on comforter and pillowcases. Toilet was used and not cleaned before we got into the rooms (hair urine in toiler bowl). Room was moderately dirty overall. Lots of tweakers cruising around the lobby late night, the homeless in the area seemed friendlier and safer than the hotel patrons. Hallway smelled musty/moldy, smell did not persist into the room. Condition of the room was too heinous for my traveling partner and we went to another hotel. The person at the front desk was nice enough to offer a refund.

Horrific conditions! Smelled so bad! Cigarette & weed smells throughout. Second morning we woke up to COCKROACHES in the bathroom and sink area. Checked out a day early and forfeited our money because it was so bad! Should be ashamed of taking peoples money to stay there. A reputable hotel site should not have this property included in their listings. It was awful!

Once entering card wasnt reading the lock on door so had to tell staff multiple time til it was fixed. No tv in the room had to request. Alot of illegal activity at night

Location was rough. Half of the staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. Had to move rooms because the top lock was screwed into the door frame and ripped off. The tub was worn. Saw a roach on the bathroom counter. Fridge wasn't plugged in. First room was missing a battery in the remote. 2nd room had no remote. Gave up watching anything at that point. There was a fight and resulting arrest in the hall while we were trying to leave... I could go on...

Typically Red Lion’s are places I would stay which is why I booked this room. The property is in an unsafe location in Yakima. It is surrounded by homeless people and drug addicts. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. But I ended up moving hotels right after I checked in and asked for a refund. The rooms say No Smoking but clearly people smoke in them. By the time my daughter and I checked out our eyes and lungs were burning. When I turned on the water in the shower it was brown at first. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything in the adjoining rooms.

Front desk kept hunting up on me. I spent over 45 mins trying to get through. My room had no tv when I arrived around 11pm. I wanted to relax instead I spent so much time trying to get through and finally had to have my room changed but that tv didn’t work. So frustrating.

The Internet in the first room I had been assigned did not work, because “somebody stole the router again”, the key cards did not work on most of the locks, and I had to call the front desk person every time to get into my room, the hallway carpeting seemed to not have been vacuumed in several months, the plugs in the rooms were very loose and could not all be plugged into. The window in the first room I was in had a crack that could not be closed. The staff seemed to go ahead and clean a room only when somebody needed one. For breakfast, there was very little because some guests or homeless visitors would take all the food for themselves and leave nothing. Disposable Forks had to run out the previous day, but the front desk helper. Kindly made more waffle mix for the waffle iron, and brought some bread out for me, and there was grape, jelly and butter, although the syrup dispenser had been stolen by a guest or intruder. The room I did get assigned to get Internet, working closer to the front desk, had a sink faucet that ran perpetually, and could not be turned all the way off, and the shower was lacking a shower curtain, causing water to go everywhere on the bathroom floor. The staff were helpful and expressed a hope that they could spruce up this hotel.

I went in with low expectations, based on the price. Towels were filthy, carpet filthy, bathroom was disgusting. TV had no power cord attached to it. Wall outlets were so worn that you couldn’t use them. Huge gaps in the area around the room door. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, but there’s no way that I would get under the covers. Staff was extremely helpful, and courteous. Resolved the TV issue relatively quickly. The place definitely needs a makeover

The lady at the desk was not accommodating at all she put me in a room where there were no light bulbs no microwave the TV was broken the room was dirty there was no toilet paper there was no towels and the ice bucket was missing and it smelled I asked her to put me in a different room and she denied me I had to wait for the night man to come on and switch me rooms this is not the first time I've stayed here and it's always a mess and a wreck so boo Red Lion on 1st Street in Yakima not a good stay you need to pick up your game we pay a lot for these rooms even if we get them online step it up guys I won't be staying there again

It was nice to always have someone at the front desk, something that has been a rarity during me recent hotel visits, including one Yakima. They always had fresh coffee on hand, too. The room had a bit of a musty smell. The location was one of the most rundown areas in Yakima. I would be willing to stay there again. The check in desk clerk knew the area well enough to give me accurate directions for where I needed to go on the following day.

No one at the desk when I tried to check in. After about 40 minutes, I was pulling out to find somewhere else to stay. Saw someone behind the desk moving mentarily. Pulled back in. It was woman who was washing linens. She was able to get me a key. She did well. At checkout time, there was still no one at desk. Dropped card key and left.

The entire place had the stench of meth amphetamine in it. The room was filthy and the microwave was dirty and could not be used due to the plate being taken out of it. The shower curtain would not close due to the holder coming off of the wall. I had a tweeker stationed right outside my window for HOURS going through the garbage in his bucket. It was very loud and the banging went on all night long. I almost just left to return back home in the middle of the night, if I would have I would have missed my son graduating med school and his wedding the following day. This place should be shut down! I was greeted at check in by a stumbling, half dressed and obviously drugged up prostitute looking "lady". There were drug deals being carried out in the parking lot by people knocking on the windows. This place is disgusting!!!

Do not stay here, homeless all around, lobby smelled like urine, across parking lot people living in vehicles. Do not stay here if you have a family. We decided to leave instead of stsying there, Hotels.com could not get refund for us… not very helpful…why do they even advertise this location…we stayed at Red Lion motels instead a mile down the road…

Staff seemed fine. No issue there. But the hotel was dirty and run down. Not even close to other red lions I have stayed at before. Smelled of old stale cigarettes. Transients hanging around in the parking lot, also appears many of them live in said parking lot. We went into our room and immediately left due to lack of cleanliness and smell. Definitely felt unsafe to even leave vehicle in parking lot. We left town completely and stayed in ellensburg.

When we showed up there were drug addicts on the streets. Homeless shelter across the street. Very unsafe for a family. We didn’t stay left to a safer hotel. Do not stay here!

The only positive part of this stay was the gentleman employee in the morning. The first room they tried to put me in had literal feces on three of the walls. A leaking tub with gross stuff on the bottom of it. Cigarette burns on the comforter. Broken window and no latch on the window. And the floors were sticky. When i went and complained she said she had to upgrade me to get me a different, as if that is what i was after. The second room was cleaner, there was trash in the toilet though, the door cover was missing, the remote cover was missing, and the floors were still sticky but I was so exhausted from travels I fell asleep anyways. Turns out there is no tv due to no wifi, and despite asking the clerk the previous night about breakfast and her confirming there was, breakfast is only on the weekends. The ONLY plus was that the gentleman in the morning did not kick up any fuss when i told him i felt unclean and unsafe staying a second night and requested to check out early. That was convenient.

The lady behind the counter was great. Facilities awful. No wastebasket, no coffee maker, no Kleenex. no clock. Wifi didn't work in room. Breakfast-one waffle maker. OJ and milk in a pitcher. Generic froot loops and bran flakes but no bowls to put them in. Bread to toast but I didn't see jelly. Staff had to figure out how the t.v. worked. Carpet had many holes from smokers.

At check he was great and made sure i had a room on the 1st floor but after that it was terrible. The room was clean but no tissues and i asked the front desk staff to please bring some to my room as my fiance was still there but she didn't. Then no coffee in the room so woke up to late for breakfast so got some coffee but it ran out and they said breakfast was over so the would not make any more. I have NEVER been to a motel/hotel where there was no coffee maker in the room and have coffee in the lobby all day! Even the budget motels have a coffee maker in the room. They're was a microwave and small refrigerator so why no coffee maker? Worst customer service ever!
